The house
Wake up to sweeping views of Casco Bay, where the tides roll in and out and ospreys glide overhead. Perched on a bluff above the water on Freeport’s beautiful Flying Point peninsula, this stunning 3-story home offers dramatic tidal views on the Maine coast — visible from nearly every room and both decks. You might even spot a bald eagle soaring over the bay. It's a birdwatcher's haven.
The unique layout of the home is great for families, with lots of hang out areas for everyone. It’s perfect for adult couples or groups, as two of the three oceanfront rooms are primary suites with gas fireplaces. It's also a magical location for anniversaries, honeymoons, and other special occasions.
We also have an EV Level 2 charger that you're welcome to use.
The Yard
Private steps lead directly from the backyard to the water’s edge. At high tide, you can step right into the calm shallow waters for a dip. When the tide pulls back, your own private beach emerges on the flats. While it’s not a traditional sandy beach, the tidal flats are great for long walks, clamming, or discovery outings with curious kids. We have kayaks for exploring the bay, and beach chairs are stocked in the shed for lazy afternoons in the sun. Don't forget to pack your reef shoes!
When golden hour arrives, watch the pink skies from the Adirondack chairs, cook on the gas grill, and enjoy dinner on a large outdoor dining table on the lower deck overlooking the water (photos coming soon).
The Living Space
The interior spaces here are all geared toward bringing those outdoor views in. The heart of the house is a sunken living room, a beautiful space anchored by a gas fireplace, a large sectional, and a 50” Samsung Frame TV with soundbar, all framed by a picture window overlooking the water. It flows naturally into a well-appointed kitchen with a gas stove, espresso machine, and drip coffee maker, a lobster pot and oyster & clam knives (of course!), plus a charming dining nook with a view.
The kitchen leads into the stunning front room where you’ll enjoy amazing meals at a large dining table surrounded by windows offering a panoramic view of the bay. On the other side of the room is a sofa that's a go-to spot for coffee and a crossword puzzle or relaxing after a day of exploring Maine. The doors to the front room can be shut if you want a little me-time while the rest of the fam watches a movie in the living room.
There is also a 1/2 bath and queen bedroom on this floor.
Upstairs, a plush daybed nook surrounded by sea-view windows is the ideal reading (or napping) spot. We call it “The Nest,” and you'll understand why as soon as you climb in.
The slider next to the daybed opens up onto the upper deck. A generous outdoor sectional and gas fire table set the stage for the moonrise and an unforgettable evening under the stars.
The Bedrooms
Two oceanfront primary suites — one on the second floor, one on the third — each offer a king bed, gas fireplace, sitting area, and sweeping water views.
The second-floor king suite includes a gas fireplace with two club chairs, a desk, and an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower.
The third floor features a king suite with a gas fireplace and a sitting area with a small sofa. There is also a bedroom with two twin beds on this floor. The two bedrooms on the third floor share a spacious bathroom with a soaking tub and shower.
The first-floor offers a bonus room with a queen bed to round the sleeping arrangements. While this room does not have a view, it’s perfect for those who prefer one-floor living.
All rooms have sound machines and window shades. Bathrooms on each of the upper two floors feature bidet toilet seats. The main floor bathroom offers a new washer & dryer for guest use.
The Location
Flying Point is one of Freeport’s most serene and scenic peninsulas. You’re minutes from Wolfe’s Neck State Park trails and the L.L. Bean Paddle Center, 10 minutes from downtown Freeport for grocery runs and outlet shopping, and within 35 minutes of Portland, Brunswick, Bath, and Harpswell.
This is Maine at its most magical — come experience it.
