AWARD-WINNING GLAMPING EXPERIENCE:
Our Glamping Dome was recognized as #7 in The Dyrt`s 2024 Glampy Awards. Honored to be a top-10 glamping destination in the entire United States. Chosen for overall glampiness, originality, and social media shareability.

THE SPACE

Step into a luminous 700+ square-foot Glamping Dome with a dramatic 8x20-foot window that frames the pond, the ducks, and the morning mist. You`ll likely spot whitetail deer and the occasional rafter of wild turkeys. The view changes with every hour. Sunrise, rainstorm, moonrise; you won`t see the same window twice.

The open-concept interior has a full kitchen for real meals, a bathroom with a large, walk-in, tiled shower with both a standard and rainfall showerhead. The main living area has a pull-out sofa bed, a giant beanbag that`s surprisingly comfortable, and a second Smart TV. Sleeps up to four total, though the window tends to win over the TVs.

Sleep on a thick queen memory-foam mattress in a private bedroom closed off by a one-of-a-kind custom barn door, with its own Smart TV and climate control.

The dome`s acoustics mean sound carries differently than in a traditional building. You`ll hear every raindrop and bird call, and voices and music carry too. That`s part of what makes it feel so connected to the outdoors, but it does mean being extra mindful during quiet hours.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Climate Control: The dome is a vinyl and fabric structure, not solid walls. AC and heat keep it comfortable, but expect inside temperatures a bit warmer in peak summer and cooler in early spring and late fall compared to home.

Woodland Setting: Our dome sits in the woods, which means occasional insect guests are part of the experience. You may encounter ladybugs (considered good luck!), beetles, the occasional spider, and various flying insects inside. Ants can also find their way in if food or crumbs are left out, so keeping surfaces clean goes a long way. We use natural pest treatments and maintain regular cleaning, but complete bug-free living isn`t possible in a forest setting. If you`re looking for a sterile indoor environment, our woodland glamping experience may not be the right fit.

THE PROPERTY

Explore our 18 acres of naturally maintained woods with hiking trails, a peaceful pond (say hello to our friendly Muscovy ducks!), two creeks, and quiet spots perfect for reading, photography, painting, meditation, writing your next hit song, or simply relaxing. A creekside meadow surrounded by tall grasses, thousands of ferns, and delicate Lady Slippers makes a great spot for a picnic or some quiet time. You`ll likely see whitetail deer and wild turkeys wandering through, especially at sunrise and sunset.

Our quirky flock of ducks and chickens roam the property freely, keeping mosquitoes and ticks naturally low. Seriously, it`s amazing how few mosquitoes you`ll encounter, considering we`re in the Tennessee woods!

The trade-off for greatly reduced mosquitoes and ticks is some periodic noise from our hens and roosters. We keep the chickens contained in the Coop until 8:00 AM. After 8:00 AM, you will hear periodic crowing, and the hens may perform their `egg song` after laying an egg, because they are very proud when they do!

They`re friendly, harmless, and always appreciate leftover snacks. The chickens and ducks may hang out around your unit. Consider them your personal mosquito and bug extermination crew.

OUR FRIENDLY BORDER COLLIES: Four Border Collies live on the property with us. They stay in our residence or their secure kennel except for supervised bathroom breaks and exercise. They never enter guest units. You may occasionally see them outside under our supervision. They are 100% non-aggressive but may enthusiastically run up to you expecting pets and attention.

ADVENTURE AWAITS

The Caverns (19 mi): This isn`t your average concert venue. Descend into a massive natural cave where the temperature stays a perfect 59 degrees year-round, and the acoustics are so pure that PBS films performances here. Named ACM`s 2025 Theater of the Year.

Waterfalls Within Easy Reach: Greeter Falls (7 mi) - Boardtree Falls (7 mi) - Bridal Veil Falls (11 mi) - Foster Falls (12 mi) - Laurel Falls (12 mi) - Blue Hole Falls (20 mi) - Machine Falls (28 mi) - Rutledge Falls (38 mi) - Fall Creek Falls (43 mi), Tennessee`s highest at 256 feet

State Parks & Trail Systems: Savage Gulf State Park (13 mi) offers some of the most dramatic gorge scenery in Tennessee. South Cumberland State Park (15 mi) connects to over 90 miles of hiking trails. Fall Creek Falls State Park (43 mi) is Tennessee`s most-visited state park.

For The Adrenaline Seekers: Coalmont OHV Park (11 mi): Tennessee`s premier off-road vehicle park with trails for all skill levels - Fast Farms MotorX (11 mi): Motocross tracks and riding areas

GOOD TO KNOW

We (your hosts) live on the property but maintain your privacy. You`ll rarely see us unless you need something, but if you spot us outside, feel free to stop and chat. You can also reach us by text or phone for help or local recommendations.

The Glamping Dome at The Getaway on Ranger Creek sits in a beautiful, secluded, and quiet remote area on Tennessee`s South Cumberland Plateau, central to state parks, hiking, waterfalls, The Caverns, and Fast Farms MotorX. The closest grocery store is an 8-minute drive, the closest restaurant is a 10-minute drive, and the closest gas station is a 7-minute drive. We recommend stocking up on groceries before heading up the mountain. Guests will need their own vehicle. Ride-sharing services are extremely limited. If attending The Caverns or Bonnaroo, private shuttle services are available; details are in your Digital Guidebook.

This isn`t a luxury resort; it`s a genuine nature experience. If you want perfectly manicured grounds, room service, and zero wildlife encounters, this isn`t your place. But if you want crickets at night, birdsong in the morning, and nothing on your schedule but the outdoors, you`re going to like it here.

A few things about rural life on the Plateau: you may hear distant gunshots during hunting season or when neighbors are target shooting. Coyotes live in the area and you`ll likely hear them at night; they avoid humans and are not a safety concern. Occasionally a neighbor`s dog may wander through; we recommend not approaching unfamiliar dogs. The nearest hospital is approximately 35 minutes away.

Your privacy matters to us, as does the security of our property and animals. We have motion-activated security cameras. No camera views the interior of any unit or bathhouse, or any deck or fire pit. Coverage: driveway, parking, walkways, yard, pond dam, chicken coop, surrounding woods, and a bathhouse video doorbell. Only cameras more than 50 ft from any unit record audio.

Beautiful property with all amenities included. The views are stunning, eating breakfast while watching the ducks swim in the pond was a treat. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was close to all the hiking places we wanted to explore.
