Would you like to relax by the fireplace or a campfire, enjoy a large garden, let the children play undisturbed, or hold a retreat with your team? Then you’re sure to feel right at home in our lovingly and sustainably renovated vacation home. Surrounded by vast pine forests and fish ponds, the crowing of the rooster still marks the rhythm of the day here, and the arrival and departure of migratory birds define the seasons. An ideal place to take a break and recharge your batteries.
A cozy vacation home awaits you, offering space for up to 12 guests across three floors and approximately 170 m² of living space. The layout includes a large, fully equipped kitchen on the first floor; a spacious kitchen-diner on the upper floor, which can also be used for small seminars; five bedrooms (including a loft with bunk beds); a fireplace room; two new bathrooms with heated floors, showers, and toilets; and a separate guest restroom. Optionally, our guests also have access to a private solid-wood sauna with three loungers (use for a fee of 50 EUR per 3 hours, including sauna towels).
We place great emphasis on sustainability in the operation of our vacation home. The house is powered by 100% green electricity, part of which is generated by our own PV system. An on-site 11-kW charging station allows for the eco-friendly charging of electric vehicles directly on the property, with electricity billed based on exact consumption (50 cents per kWh). Heating and hot water are provided by an eco-friendly brine-to-water heat pump. All wastewater is treated on-site by a fully biological small-scale wastewater treatment plant and returned to the water cycle. Wooden floorboards, tiled floors, and wallpaper-free, mineral-plastered walls in nearly all rooms ensure a pleasant indoor climate. During construction and furnishing, we placed great emphasis on preserving, restoring, and reusing existing elements as much as possible. Bed linens and towels are largely made of organic cotton.
Adjacent to the house is a narrow but more than 160 m long garden plot, which is available for our guests to share. The garden features many fruit trees and shrubs (especially cherries, plums, apples, mirabelle plums, peaches, raspberries, currants, blackberries, and walnuts) and almost always yields a few fruits to sample during the summer months. It ends a few meters before the horse paddock, which extends to the south.
The immediate surroundings offer opportunities for forest walks and bike rides, mushroom picking, and birdwatching, as well as excursions to castles and parks. On a donation basis, we can provide our guests with five simple adult bicycles and a few children’s bikes for their use. The Ortrand outdoor pool (7 km) and Lake Senftenberg (18 km) are great spots for swimming. Slightly farther destinations include the Lusatian Lake District, the F60 visitor mine in Lichterfelde, and the Krabat Mill in Schwarzkollm (all 30 km away), as well as Dresden (50 km) and the Spreewald (60 km).
