Amazing property. We stayed in the lighthouse. It was a unique experience for the family. My nieces thought it was cool. This was one of the few places we could find the allowed dogs. Our Yorkies wore themselves out running the grounds, and there were other well behaved pups on the property that theygit to meet. The beach was beautiful and well maintained. The house was huge with a ton of nautical knick knacks. There is a huge font lawn with picnic tables and a grill. We spent a lot of time on the front porch that has a cool breeze from the lake. It's a quick 5 minute drive into Bayfield and about 10 minutes to Washburn. The beds were comfortable. There was a bathroom in every bedroom and an extra bedroom off the sitting room. The kitchen was nice, and we were able to cook a few meals. There were coffee makers in most rooms with coffee and filters. There was a small balcony off the back of the second floor, and a reading room on the third floor, below the lighthouse. There were 3 bedrooms on the main floor if someone in the group has limited mobility. There are still stairs up to the first floor though. The only real negative is that it's close to curve on Highway 13, so the sound of vehicles taking that turn is noticeable. Every morning I saw Loons and ducks swimming across the lake. It looked like there was a lake cave around the bend that they were heading to. One of the guests in the other cabin had a kayak, and said it was worth checking out.
