Ground floor holiday rental with 2 bedrooms and terrace at Vila da Praia Alvor

Please note that from March 14th 2024 a tourist tax will be charged for all guests with 13 years old or more. From November 1st to March 31st the value is 1 euro per night until a maximum of 7 nights. From April 1st to October 31st the value is 2 euros per night until a maximum of 7 nights.

This holiday apartment is set in a private complex, with a pleasant garden and 2 swimming pools; one for adults and one for children. This bright, daylight filled, ground floor apartment is located near the beach and the centre of the village of Alvor, one of the most beautiful and quiet areas in the Algarve. Accommodation comprises one bedroom with en suite shower room and 2 single beds, a second bedroom with 2 single beds, living room with dining and sitting areas and a settee that makes into two beds, full bathroom and fully equipped kitchen. The living room area has air conditioning that also functions for heating and as dehumidifier. The outdoor patio has an area of 20m2 next to the garden and pools. This privileged location offers easy access by foot to the beach and town for restaurants, supermarket, pharmacy and the Private Hospital of Alvor. The apartment is cleaned for incoming guests and once a week thereafter, with change of bed linen and towels.


The Algarve & Alvor: The Algarve has a temperate climate almost all year round and boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year. The tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quiets down in the dead of winter. The wonderful sandy beaches of the Algarve are unspoilt and amongst the finest in the world. Away from the tourist hub, explore the quaint unspoilt villages with their narrow cobbled streets, the Ria de Alvor, the majestic Serra de Monchique or the rugged beauty of the South Westerly tip of Europe, Sagres and Cape St Vincent. Water sports such as swimming, snorkelling and big-game fishing are popular along the Algarve coast, as are boat trips exploring the caves and grottos. Several water parks and theme parks will ensure that the children never get bored.

Local food: Local markets sell an abundance of goods at bargain prices. Restaurants and bars vie for business and the food is delicious and served in huge quantities. Most restaurants have charcoal grills, turning out some of the best barbecued food you're ever likely to taste, such as freshly caught fish, chicken piri-piri and mouth-watering steaks and kebabs. Enjoy cheap local wines, jug full of Sangria and freshly squeezed local orange juice.

A fantastic apartment set in a great location which being a condominium with residences and returning holiday makers the atmosphere was very friendly . The apartment is a great size for a family and set close to Alvor. I must say communication provided by Paulo was outstanding and very prompt . Paula on arrival assisted with understanding what and where things in the apartment were located . Already trying to rebook for early July … however not surprised dates are full even before we have left this years holiday . Highly recommended and will return . Great job . Regards Danny783

Gostámos de tudo - a limpeza e os arranjos paisagísticos do condomínio, a piscina excelente , pelas dimensões , pelas diferentes profundidades e pela envolvência verde, a localização do condomínio, perto da praia. Quanto ao apartamento, boas dimensões, com tudo o que é necessário para uma familia grande como a nossa - 5 pessoas! Check-in feito pela D.Paula, bastante atenciosa e cuidadosa com todos os detalhes!

Easy booking and good communication with owner..Nice pool area never too busy.Peaceful at night.Bathrooms need updating but that wouldn't stop us staying again.The man who looks after the pool area was very strict so no breaking the rules he was definatly Mr Grumpy!

"quiet, sunny and peaceful"

We didn't meet Paulo the propert owner in person but we didn't need to query anything as the apartment had nearly everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen is very small but had ample cutlery, dishes and glasses. The bathrooms were fine and they and the kitchen had an ample supply of hotwater. The beds were comfortable with a fresh supply of linen and towels each week. The sitting room is old fashioned , the chairs being a bit uncomfortable. The TV was described as satellite , but without a user manual, we were unable to see any English programs . Overall with the weather being good, we enjoyed our holiday

Beautiful Alvor

This is a great apartment in a great location. A few minutes work to Alvor centre and to the beach, you couldn't ask for better. Ideal for family fun in the sun. I would really recommend!

Good Stay

Really good stay at this apartment. Restaurants and beach within a 5 minute walk and supermarket round the corner. Only negative is that the beds are really hard to sleep on and the amenities are a bit dated but I guess that’s why this apartment is cheaper than others on the complex. It’s an ideal place to stay location wise though and Paulo was very easy to deal with.

Good apartment in good location

The 2 bedroom apartment was fairly big with a good patio area It is a great location easy walking to beach close to Intermarche supermarket and easy walking to all restaurants and bars in Alvor. The inside of the apartment although very clean is very basically furnished and the pots and pans crockery etc in kitchen could do with renewed . The few little issues we had were resolved very quickly by Marta who also changed bedding and cleaned the apartment each week, We would certainly consider using again for long winter rent if the price was within our budget

Beautiful ground floor apartment

We arrived on the 7th of March in Alvor and the weather was beautiful. We used to stay oin hotels in Alvor the years before, but as we were trabvelling with Anton, our small dog, for the first time, we had to stay in an apartment, as dogs are not accepted in Portugese hotels. We found a very comfortable, big apartment with all the comfort you need for a relaxing holiday: sunbeds and umbrellas on the terrace, two large bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge livingroom and a kitchen with all the necessary apüpliances: washing machine and dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, coffee machine, nice cups and plates, enough towels etc. The apartment was very tidy and clean; once a week a young lady came to tidy up, which was included in the price. It is a very quiet resort, the pool is large and beautifukl and although it was still rather cold (16 degrees?) I had a nice long swim every morning. We loved breakfast on the sunny terrace and enjoyed the short footwalk to the beaches. In Alvor you find many restaurants, where they serve delicious meals, but I prefered shopping in the nearby markethall and cooking things noot available at home. For nice evenings out we recomment Noras Restaurant (on the right side on a hill in direction of the motorway,, watch the sign), and the Windsurf Beachbar. All in all, we will definitely come back to Paulos apartment next year. Thanks again to Paulo's father for helping us with the toll :-) Sabine and Peter

Excellent apartment at a great location

This was the 5th time that we staid in Alvor and three times we had an apartment at Vila da Praia. This apartment we liked very much as it is situated on the ground floor with view on the swimming pool. For the children and for us this was very good as we could also watch from our terrace. The apartment is fully equipped and we did not missed anything. Paulo was very kind and we love to rent his apartment next time again. Thanks for the wonderful holiday.

golf hoiday for 4 men

we got a nice welcome from paulos dad.the villa was clean and tidy. it was a 5 minute walk to the shops and bars. perfect for 4 drinking golfers. the villa had two bathrooms one with a very poor shower unit that leaked when used. but apart from that it was fine.we will be booking early next year. john rank

October half term in Alvor

Our party of 4 adults and 2 children (ages 4 and 5) spent a fabulous week in the sunshine of Alvor. Tha appartment, on a small secure complex, was ideally situated close to the beach and village centre and we visited both each day. The beach was one of the nicest we have visited - clean and uncrowded with 2 restaurants and bars nearby. We were told aboout several other beaches nearby which were reputed to be very pretty but we were content to stay on Alvor beach. We arrived quite late at night due to a delayed flight but Paolo' s father was there to help us and explain where we should find things. There was a welcome bowl of fresh fruit and bottle of water for which we were very grateful. Paolo was most helpful and attentive throughout the whole transaction. The lovely appartment is beautifully situated on the ground floor overlooking the garden and pool - really convenient. It was spacious,clean and well equipped. We had packed breakfast cereal in case of being unable to find a shop open if we were late and this proved invaluable for the children- although the taxi driver who picked us up at the airport was wonderful in trying to find a supermarket . He even offered to go to his home for milk if we had been unable to find some! We mention this because the main supermarket which is 5 mins away from the appartment closed at 8pm(it could be later in summer) However we did discover a mimimarket in the village opposite the tourist information which stayed open until 10pm. There are many lovely restaurants around the harbour -the fish dishes were fantastic. We went to a different one each evening and enjoyed them all. We also went to Georget's in the village -highly recommended -booking essential. Thge pizza restaurant overlooking the harbour was also good. This was essentially a sunshine holiday for the children and so we did not do any sightseeing except to stroll around the village which we enjoyed but we are returning next summer and look forward to many outings to see things we found out about. All in all this was a most enjoyable holiday. We would recommend the appartment and the complex. I can understand why people return many times. Thank you to all.

Alvor April 2010

We had a lovely time in Alvor (having been many times in the past) and would stay at this apartment again. The location is great, it was clean, large and well equiped, I was even able to puree food for my 6mth old baby with the hand blender! The sun shone on the terrace for most of the day and I could always see my daughter when she was playing in the main pool area. Paulo was very helpful and the water and fruit when we arrived was a thoughtful touch. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks and see you again!

Great Apartment in Central Alvor

Great spacious apartment in a fantastic location in Alvor which is great for the beach and centre. We were greeted on arrival and given all the information we needed and the apartment was very clean. It was ample big enough for 4 adults and a toddler and very child friendly. The pool was great and the complex very secure. We had a very relaxing stay. Thank you for a great holiday!

Alvor in September

Our stay in Villa da Praia was superb, the location of the complex is perfect for the beach and also Alvor town, the complex has a secure entry so feels very safe. The apartment is well situated on the ground floor over looking the Pool, and is very well equiped, its is very clean and perfect for a couple or a family. Paulo was very helpfull throughout and also arranged a very good transfer from Faro to Alvor. It is our 4th time in Alvor and we would definately stay at this apartment again. No negatives to mention

Our holiday in Portugal 2009

August 2009 - this is the second time we have holidayed in Paulo's apartment. It is two bedroomed which is great for our two boys and us. The pool is literally a stone's throw from the apartment terrace, so you can pop backwards and forwards as you wish. The apartment itself is spotlessly clean and Paulo's Dad is always there to meet you on arrival. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone wanting a relaxing poolside holiday - although there is much to explore on the island if you can drag yourself away from the pool! Holiday in Alvor

Thank you very much for a beautiful apartment which was exactly what we required. Near enough to the Beach to allow us to have a nice walk every day and a lovely pool which, allowed some of us to have a quiet morning swim. The facilities in the apartment were excellent apart from now understanding the locking system in the front door and locking ourselves out on a few occasions so perhaps for the dummies like us it would be an idea to have some instruction about it on the inside of the door. The Village of Alvor retains much of its original charm and again we were but a short walk from its centre. Thank you again and I hope we can return in the near future Marjorie
