We are certain you will instantly fall in love with this luxurious retreat! With its well-decorated interior, this rental will make the perfect home for a couples retreat or a large family. The home is located directly on the famous Delayed Harvest section of the Tuckasegee River where almost 50,000 trophy trout are stocked annually. Sit outside on the large front deck and enjoy the sounds of the rippling waters. What's nearby: This rental is conveniently located halfway between downtown Sylva and Western Carolina University. And for incredible hiking trails through lush forests, rushing rivers, and plunging waterfalls, Great Smoky Mountains National Park is only 23 miles from your front door. Things to know: Free WiFi Full kitchen with a dishwasher Fireplace only available from October through March *Last half-mile is on a well-maintained gravel road

Work retreat

This house was amazing!! So spacious with plenty of spots to cozy up with a book and/or enjoy the amazing view and sounds of the river. Was stocked well for a fishing adventure which is not why we were visiting, but it made me want to book again for a fishing trip with family. Would certainly stay here again.

Wonderful gathering space

Family gathered for a weekend stay. Perfect place. Front porch overlooking the river is where everyone wanted to be the entire stay. Plenty of bedrooms & baths. Kitchen & bar area perfect for serving meals.

Beautiful Home on the River

Spacious Tuck Retreat

Beautiful house on the banks of the Tuck! Very spacious with plenty of room for all. House was very clean and accommodations were great. Would definitely recommend this house to others and plan to return. Close proximity to WCU, Sylva and Dillsboro.

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our mountain vacation! The location of the house was convenient to several nearby towns but far enough out of the hustle and bustle. The sound of the river that could be heard out on the deck was amazing and we loved having the ability to tube right in our backyard. We fished, went rafting, played a lot of board games, and had a great getaway as a big family. This house provides plenty of space and as a bonus has a bathroom for nearly every bedroom. We can't wait to book again for next year!

Fishing paradise in the smokey mountains

An amazing place to stay. Clean, comfortable and perfect. If you are looking for a place to stay for fishing as we were this, is it. Do not look any further. Walk out the door and start fishing the Tuck right away or call a guide. Best trip in a while.

Graduation Celebration!

What a perfect home for a family gathering! We had 9 family members in for graduation this weekend and Tuckaway Retreat was no less than fabulous! Ready on time, sparkling clean, well-appointed, and the view...oh the view! We hope to make yearly use of this special place, it is now dear to our hearts and part of a memory we will always treasure!

Everything was perfect. Pictures dont do it justice. Its not a creek but the Tuskgage River. Absolutely beautiful. Family members remarked several times, save this cabin, its our favorite.

This was our 2nd time staying at this house and we love it! Plenty of room and the river makes for a beautiful, peaceful setting!My only complaint this time is that we never had WiFi. I called and spoke to someone Sat morning. She was going to send someone out. They never came. I texted numerous times that evening and Saturday and they just kept saying they would update me, and no one ever came to look at it and nothing was done. Phone reception there is spotty so depending on hot spot was not great.

We sincerely apologize for the WiFi issues and for the lack of timely follow-up during your stay. We understand how frustrating that must have been, especially with limited cell service in the area. The internet carrier recently experienced outages in that region, though we understand that does not lessen the inconvenience you experienced. We’re happy to share that more recent guests have not reported similar issues, but we will continue to follow up to ensure everything is fully resolved. Communication through vacasa was not good. Too many people answering with different opinions

House was really nice. Loved the kitchen in the basement area Added to convenience. Would have liked an earlier check in and later check out perhaps an hour or so without the 150 extra. But we got up and out earlier than expected.

Nice property

Family reunion of 11. House perfect for us. Well equipped We enjoyed playing in the river. A little road noise from across the river we did not expect but tolerable. We had some problems with the "Local VACASA Team" and were not able to use the grill. They never sent someone out to fix it like they said they would but that is not the house's or owner's fault. The house was very nice and we were glad we rented it. Thank You!.

A weekend by the water

Tbe house was great, mostly clean (there was a baby spider in one of the night lights in one of the basement bedrooms but that's kind of unavoidable in the mountains). There was a cricket or something outside/near/in the pipes (I'm not really sure where) the queen bedroom in the basement and I could barely sleep it was so loud and so frequent. When I went outside to check it out, I couldn't hear the cricket, so I don't know where it was coming from. All the other rooms were geeatand we had a blast hanging out and enjouing the amazing food in Sylva 😊

Fabulous home with private river access

We loved everything about Tuckaway Retreat! There was plenty of room for our extended family to spend time together. We loved the huge deck overlooking the river and the three floors to spread out on. Our teens loved the first level with their own kitchen. The bedrooms don’t have TV’s so they set up their Xbox down there. The main floor is the 2nd floor and is spacious for everyone to play games or watch movies cook dinner etc. The third floor has the twins bedroom and a queen bedroom but also has a roomy loft space for reading or working. We loved fishing and tubing the Tuckaseegee right from the house - we would leave a car and take out at the Webster church river access. We loved being so close to Sylva, Dillsboro and Cullowhee. Such a beautiful area to explore! Easy access to GSMNP, Franklin, Cherokee, and all of the Ruby Mines in the area. We would absolutely rent this house again and look forward to coming back!

As described and recommended

Five stars for a great house exactly as described. Excellent furnishings and well kept. It might be helpful to others to note that this is not a secluded mountain spot--it's near town, among some other houses. Across the river is a busy road, which creates quite a bit of traffic noise on the porch and in the yard. Didn't detract from our stay, especially since we were happy to be close to town and not on an isolated mountain, but worth mentioning for others looking at this property. We would go back.
