A warm welcome to Hof Eckhorst, to our comfortable vacation apartments in the countryside. Here, at the narrowest point between the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, between Schleswig and Eckernförde, between the Schlei and the Hüttener Berge Nature Park. Country charm, country life, country delights, country children, country landmarks—this beloved countryside shows just how beautiful life in the countryside can be. The apartments are individually decorated with themes such as the Baltic Sea, sunshine, and romantic Tuscany. Unwind in front of the wood-burning stove or while enjoying a soothing bath under the starry sky in the spacious bathroom. A separate restroom is, of course, provided. Whether it’s breakfast or sunset, you’ll feel right at home on your own loggia with a magnificent view of our pastures. You’ll meet other guests in our barn hall or the fragrant wellness area, which features a sauna and a dream bath for two. Enjoy the summer by the lake, or find peace and relaxation on the “dreamer’s bench” under the oak tree. You’ll hear the rustling of the leaves, smell the plants, and watch a contented herd of mares. The Toskana apartment is a 5-star vacation rental for 2 people, but it has 5 beds, so you can feel free to bring your children along as well. It is wheelchair-accessible and exudes a Mediterranean flair. In the living area, you can listen to the crackling of the wood-burning stove or watch the horses through the window. If you’d like some privacy, you have two bedrooms with cozy double beds and separate seating areas, or a sleeping alcove in the living area. Unwind with a soothing, fragrant bath in the spacious bathroom. A separate restroom and a small storage closet complete the apartment.
Whether it’s breakfast or a romantic sunset, you’re sure to feel right at home on your loggia.
The fully equipped kitchen invites you to indulge in a feast. For special meals, we’d be happy to provide you with a fondue set, a raclette, or a wok.
Each apartment has an internet connection.
Bathroom:
The bathroom, with its large shower, is also barrier-free, making it suitable for wheelchair users. The large bathtub has a center-mounted spout, allowing two people to enjoy a wonderful bath together. You can illuminate an artificial “starry sky” above the bathtub. The built-in cabinets and the toilet round out the amenities.

Vacation with Your Own Horse, Riding Lessons:: Whether you’d like to bring your own horse or ride one of ours—whether for riding lessons or a trail ride through the beautiful countryside—you’re very welcome here! Our equestrian facility offers: a 20 x 60-meter indoor arena, a 50 x 80-meter jumping arena, a 20 x 60-meter outdoor dressage arena, 2 lunging circles, a fenced-in gallop track, small cross-country jumps, and a water crossing. We host training courses and regular events.

Our horse breeding program: At Hof Eckhorst, we love Hanoverian horses. The horses shape our year. In the spring, the pregnant mares foal in the stables, while others are bred by the stallions through natural breeding or artificial insemination. The grazing season begins in May, and both the foals and the broodmares spend day and night in their pastures. This is also when our competition season begins. The horses, which have been broken in over the winter, make their debut at events and competitions. This continues through September. Then they return to the stables. You’re welcome to experience all of this with us. We look forward to seeing you!

Every Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the sauna area is free of charge. We offer massages, medical foot care, nail care, and osteopathic treatments provided by certified specialists right here at our facility.
