A very clean, comfortable, room is available, with a queen and a twin bed. The room has its own bathroom. mini fridge and microwave and Coffee set-up with all the fixins. Split unit for a/c and heating, with remote. Flat screen TV with Direct tv and wireless internet. French doors open out onto a deck, overlooking the marsh and the Gulf. The room has a private entrance and stairway. Fish cleaning table with many sitting areas, picnic table and a gas grill, downstairs. All shaded, on concrete, under the house. Plenty of room for parking boats, only 2 miles from the public boat ramp, 2.5 miles from a sandy beach and a pier at Keaton Beach. Also, Steinhatchee, a river community, 20 minutes away, with great seafood restaurants, cafe, food trucks, Ace Hardware and grocery stores. A unique river community with many things to see and do. There is boat rentals at the Sea Hag Marina which has a brand new restaurant and gift/clothing shop, a definite place to visit.
We have a new Dollar General Store, within five miles and also a unique restaurant and bar, Nowhere Grill, is the name, with live music and great seafood. Another great, popular, bar and grill, The Bird Rack, is within 5 miles. Beach Bums, a corner store, that has a food truck and is a convenience store, 2 miles away. Walter B's, another convenience store, serves freshly cooked food all day and most of the night.
Another nearby town, Perry, has Walmart, many restaurants and fast food, is 30 minutes away. There, the famous, Johnson's Bakery, serves the best donuts in the world and home cooked hamburgers. Many other shops to visit and places to eat in Perry.

We are are a small fishing and boating community, with very little crime or incidents that you would have to worry about.

Also there is a biking, walking, golf carting, paved trail from Dark Island to the public boat ramp, about 3 miles long. It is kept manicured and very accessible to anyone. It's in walking distance from us.
