“Huus an’t Dörpsdiek” – Arrive. Take a deep breath. Feel at home.
Your haven in Krummhörn, just a stone’s throw from the dike. There are places you walk into—and immediately feel at home. “Huus an’t Dörpsdiek” is exactly that kind of place. Quiet, serene, and full of North German charm, it’s located in the small village of Hamswehrum, nestled between fields, the wind, and the fresh North Sea air. Right across the way, the village pond “Dopke” glistens, where frogs start their concert in the summer. When you sit here, you feel it immediately—that special tranquility that gently envelops you. An invitation to take a deep breath, let go, and settle in.
A temporary home—furnished with love This lovingly renovated semi-detached house offers space for two people who appreciate simplicity and authenticity. Every room has been thoughtfully designed—warm, bright, and of high quality. Inside, you’ll find: a bright, cozy living room with a large corner sofa and a smart TV; a bedroom with a spacious double bed (180×200 cm) and a TV; a large open-concept kitchen, equipped with modern Miele appliances; a modern bathroom with a floor-to-ceiling rain shower and double sinks; a washing machine, towels, and bed linens are, of course, provided; electric blinds ensure privacy, and insect screens guarantee peaceful summer nights. And above it all is this feeling: everything here is effortless. A garden straight out of a summer dream. The expansive natural garden is a little paradise—wildly romantic, green, and full of life. Among the plum, mirabelle, and apple trees, everyone will find their favorite spot. Maybe it’s… the hammock, gently swaying in the shade of the trees; the beach chair on the wooden deck, overlooking the greenery; or the garden shed with a wood-burning stove—the perfect spot for cozy evenings. And when the fruit ripens in late summer, feel free to help yourself. Here, nature is simply part of the experience.
With kids. With a dog. With heart. Children are warmly welcome—and your dog is welcome to come along, too (€10 per night). He’ll love the garden.
Where the North Sea is within reach. The dike is just a few minutes away by bike. In Upleward, the famous dry beach awaits—unique, vast, and open. A small swimming cove, kitesurfers on the horizon, a large playground, and the “Erbsenbinder” restaurant—all very laid-back, very North German. And if you’d like, you can walk on to Germany’s tallest lighthouse in Campen—one of the most beautiful places to simply let your gaze wander.
