The Sailor's Galley
Lovely, spacious home in picturesque Aghada with sea views from almost every room. A wonderful base to explore East Cork and only minutes from fabulous walks with views across to Cobh. Safe and plenty free parking as the house is end of terrace. An extension to the house created a downstairs bedroom with ensuite and is fully wheelchair accessible. There are no steps from car park to all of downstairs. Kitchen and living space is south facing giving fabulous light wrapping around to the west.
The space Quiet end of terrace home with front and rear access to suit everyone’s needs. Entrance hallway through the front door leads you to a spacious fully fitted kitchen kitchen and living space with 2 large sofas and a wood burning stove. UTILITY There is a separate utility room which includes a washing machine, dryer and American style fridge with ice maker. There is lots of storage and counter space. Bins are stored here out of sight. UNDERSTAIRS CLOAKROOM There are also many hooks downstairs for hanging your coats and jackets. WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE This room then leads to the extension which comprises of a large bedroom and large en-suite which is fully wheelchair accessible. The house is unique in that the entire ground floor is wheelchair accessible from car park to the downstairs. There is access directly from the car park to the rear access with a slight slope instead of steps. UPSTAIRS Upstairs are two bedrooms, and the main bathroom with a bath. The double is a bright room with dual aspect windows and an ensuite shower room. There is plenty wardrobe space. The single bedroom is adjacent and again has lovely sea views to the east. HOT PRESS Here you will find beach towels which we would love you to use rather that taking bath towels. TEA AND COFFEE Please use bottled water provided to make hot drinks

Other things to note Walk out of the house and down the hill to breath taking views of the sea across to East Ferry and Cobh. Aghada Pier is fabulous for sea swimming and great fun in the Summer with pier jumping being very popular and all just a walk from the house ! Rosies bar at the end of the road also serves food and has outdoor tables to take in the view. There is a flat concrete path cales the People’s Path, east of which takes you over to Rostellan Woods with a lake that is famed for its bird watching. There is a scenic picnic area with views across Cork Harbour and well worth a visit. It also has a dedicated Forest Cycling area. To the west on the path is the village of Whitegate which is 2kms away. Perfect for buggies or bicycles with a lovely cafe servant delicious coffee, toasties and pastries, again with outdoor seating to refuel and take in the views. The supermarket here has everything you need including an excellent butcher counter and deli. In Rostellan we are very lucky to have a farm shop selling fresh milk and has a cafe offering beautiful toasties and cakes. All within walking distance of the house. The lovely village of Ballycotton with its incredible cliff walk is 18kms away, passing Ballymaloe and Shanagarry. The town of Midleton is 15 minutes away and hosts a farmers market every Saturday morning.
