Get out of the city and into nature: We warmly welcome you to our historic farm No. 1 in Greimerath—Vogelfrei!
Arrive... Take a deep breath... Relax.
Our farm was built back in 1910, and we took over the house in 2020. Our stylishly furnished vacation rental is located in the former machine shed, which once housed the equipment needed for farming.
In our traditional Trier “Quereinhaus” (a building where living and working were once combined), we’ve created a modern, open-concept living space spanning two floors.
The first floor of the apartment features the kitchen-living area and the bathroom. The open living space includes a cozy sofa that can also be used as a sleeping area.
The sleeping loft (the “nest”), featuring a box-spring bed, is accessed via an open staircase within the open-concept space.
Above all, sustainable and eco-friendly construction is the driving force behind everything we offer. Our house (built from fieldstone and clay) has been thoroughly renovated and finished with lime plaster.
Outdoors, too, we place the highest value on natural materials and plant diversity. From your private terrace, you’ll enjoy a beautiful view of our largely natural garden.
Artworks and found objects of all kinds give this retreat a distinctive character that creates a strong sense of well-being.
Just let yourself go here. After a full day of activities, you can pamper yourself in our on-site beauty salon or be enchanted by the fine world of specialty beers at our microbrewery with a beer tasting experience.

Activities:
Discover the three-country region (Germany, France, Luxembourg) with its breathtaking natural scenery. Whether it’s the vineyards, the Moselle or the Saar, or the cities of Saarburg, Trier, Luxembourg, and Saarbrücken—everything is just a short distance away, making the location of our farm exceptionally attractive.
We’re also located in a hiker’s and cyclist’s paradise—the beautiful mixed forests of the Black Forest’s Hochwald, crisscrossed by numerous well-maintained trails, and the Saar-Hunsrück-Steig with its “dream loops” are right on our farm’s doorstep. The 13.4-km-long Greimerath High Trail, for example, is one of a total of 114 “dream loops,” all of which are premium trails that meet the highest hiking standards.
The rolling low-mountain landscape in which Greimerath is nestled is a true treasure for lovers of all kinds of outdoor activities. For cycling enthusiasts, hikers, runners, mountain bikers, swimmers, canoeists, motorcyclists, and others, there are plenty of options, as everything is within easy reach.
We also rent out a Vespa Sprint 50 for leisurely rides or exploration tours. This allows you to experience the charming surroundings in a unique way and, while enjoying the fresh air, reach destinations such as the nearby swimming lake in Losheim (You can also rent SUP boards from us).
With Hof No. 1 Vogelfrei, we’ve created a place where tranquility, nature, art, and wellness come together in a wonderful way.
A favorite getaway for couples who appreciate the combination of actively exploring the Hochwald, Saar, and Mosel regions, relaxing wellness treatments, and a particularly beautiful spot to unwind and take a deep breath while enjoying views of the countryside.

The apartment features a modern kitchen with plenty of dishes and cooking utensils, a coffee maker (with built-in grinder), a kettle, and a toaster.
You’ll sleep in the “Nest”—a modern box-spring bed.
Of course, a 4K TV, free Wi-Fi, towels, and kitchen linens are included.
You can purchase all decorative items from us—prices available upon request.
We’d be happy to leave a delicious breakfast basket with regional and organic products outside your door in the morning.

The apartment is non-smoking and suitable for people with allergies.
 
It is not wheelchair accessible, and pets are not allowed—sorry.
