Our guests like to begin with coffee in the sunroom, afternoons out on a nearby trail or just a hop away into town, and evenings on the screened porch listening to tree frogs under the stars. This modern mountain home is the perfect retreat for a romantic weekend, a family getaway, or a culture filled trip to take in all the Berkshires has to offer or a work-from-home stay in the Berkshires. The space

Ideal for up to six guests, the home is spacious, comfortable, and carefully prepared for a relaxed Berkshire stay. Upstairs, the very large primary bedroom features a king-sized bed. Downstairs, one bedroom has a queen-sized bed and the second has two twin beds, making the layout well suited for couples, friends, or families.

Living room

The living room is warm, inviting, and made for unwinding after a day exploring the Berkshires. Sink into the luxurious leather sofa for a movie night, enjoy the warmth of the wood-burning stove, or simply take in the woodland views through the large window facing the trees. A 55-inch TV is mounted in the room, and there is also a cozy reading nook plus a great collection of books, games, and puzzles for guests of all ages.

For younger guests, we’ve included Magformers, board games, puzzles and origami crafts, and for everyone, a karaoke machine with two microphones adds a fun touch for evenings at home after dinner in Lenox or a concert at Tanglewood.

Kitchen

We love to cook, and the kitchen reflects that. It is fully equipped with high-quality cookware and the kinds of tools we actually use ourselves, including Tramontina pots and pans, rice cooker,, a dutch over, sharp, All-Clad knives, glass storage containers, and the essentials for everyday cooking. If you are planning a holiday meal or gathering, you’ll also find roasters, wooden cutting boards, blenders, a multitude of serving dishes, and cloth napkins.

When we remodeled the kitchen, we designed it with real cooking and gathering in mind. We imagined a space where multiple cooks could prep together while still staying part of the conversation. The room opens naturally for shared meals, long breakfasts, and relaxed evenings at home after hiking, sightseeing, or taking in the arts and culture of the Berkshires.

We also keep the home stocked with tea, common spices, and high-quality olive and avocado oil for guests to enjoy.

Coffee lovers will feel especially at home here. You’ll have several ways to make your morning cup, including a coffee grinder, automatic drip coffee maker, French press, and Nespresso machine.

There is also a large beverage cooler for wine, beer, and other drinks, and we’ll leave a few starter beverages for your arrival.

One of the unexpected pleasures of the house is the water. The home draws from a deep well (recently tested in 2026) and guests often comment on how fresh and clean the mountain water tastes.

Sunroom

The sunroom is one of the most special spaces in the house and part of what gives the home its peaceful mountain character. With floor-to-ceiling windows facing the woods, it is a beautiful place to meditate, do yoga, enjoy tea, read, or simply slow down. In the early morning or evening, you may spot wildlife passing by, including deer, wild turkeys, porcupines, foxes, or possibly even a moose.

Primary bedroom and office

The upstairs primary bedroom is serene, spacious, and designed for comfort. It features a premium hybrid foam Leesa Sapira king mattress, a 55-inch smart TV, a mid-century modern dresser, reading lamps, and a luggage rack.

Just beyond the primary bedroom is a dedicated office, ideal for remote work in the Berkshires. The office has a door for privacy and includes a desk, printer, surge protector, blank wall for professional video calls, and a window with soft natural light. Thanks to the town’s fiber network, the house has fast 1 GB internet, making it easy to work, stream, and stay connected during your stay.

Bedroom 2

The second bedroom has a queen-sized premium hybrid foam Casper mattress, a large closet, dresser, and large windows facing the woods.

Bedroom 3

The third bedroom has two twin beds with hybrid foam mattresses, a large closet, dresser, and a window facing the woods.

Entertainment and streaming

Both TVs have access to streaming services, so you can sign in with your own account information and enjoy your usual favorites during your stay.

Bathrooms

There is a brand-new primary bathroom upstairs with a shower stall, as well as a full bathroom downstairs with a tub. Both bathrooms are stocked with clean towels and full-sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from Public Goods and other eco-friendly brands.

Laundry

The basement includes a brand-new washer and dryer, a supply of laundry pods, and a drying rack for guest use.

Outdoor living

Just off the kitchen, the screened-in porch overlooks the expansive yard and nearly eight acres of private woods beyond. It is a lovely spot for morning coffee, an afternoon nap in the hammock chair, or a quiet evening. There are four outdoor chairs and a small bistro table.

The yard is open, wooded, and unfenced, and guests are welcome to explore the property. Our guidebook includes helpful notes to orient you. Around the house and throughout the woods, you may find heirloom and wild blueberries, raspberries, and pears. If you happen to visit during the right season, you are welcome to pick and enjoy the fruit and herbs growing around the property. We have also created a short path through the woods for wandering and quiet moments outdoors. Bring a travel hammock and enjoy a hidden spot in the forest.

Guests are also welcome to use the Adirondack chairs and charcoal grill. We provide all grilling tools; you just bring the charcoal.

The area

This home is located in Washington (just a few feet shy from Becket). We think Washington is the BEST hill town. It's quiet and scenic and it feels tucked away yet remains wonderfully central to the region’s best experiences. You are a short drive from Jacob’s Pillow, Tanglewood, Lenox’s restaurants and arts scene, kayaking, sightseeing, and miles of hiking. Just down the road is one of the main entrances to October Mountain State Forest — the largest state forest in Massachusetts. Just five minutes aways is the one of main entry points for the Appalachian Trail that runs through Washington.

As our guest, you will also have special access to Center Pond, where you can fish, swim, and kayak.

Pets

We may allow one well-behaved dog on a case-by-case basis. An additional pet fee applies.

Cleanliness and comfort

We take cleanliness and comfort seriously. Our housekeeping team uses high-quality cleaning products, all mattresses and pillows are protected with dust-mite and allergy covers, and two air filters are available on the property.

The home also includes thoughtful recent upgrades for year-round comfort, including central air conditioning, improved insulation, and a brand-new water heater. Whether you are visiting in the height of summer or on a crisp Berkshire autumn evening, the house is designed to feel comfortable, quiet, and easy to settle into.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the entire home except for two locked owners’ closets and one housekeeping closet. Other than that, we want you to feel completely at home here and enjoy the property as your own private Berkshire getaway.
