This lovingly renovated, historic, colorful half-timbered house offers 151 m² of living space—plenty of room for 6 to a maximum of 8 people (2 beds measuring 1.80 x 2 m, 2 beds measuring 1.40 x 2 m)—and transports you to a bygone era of living. With great architectural and artisanal skill, a 300-year-old old-town house has been transformed into a true gem. Four bedrooms, a kitchen, a cozy living/dining area with a fireplace, two restrooms, two showers, and an additional bathroom spread across four floors provide plenty of space for your vacation.
The "Vacation Home" The name of this vacation home says it all: Nestled in the heart of Bad Wildungen’s Old Town, surrounded by many colorful half-timbered houses, lies our "Altstadtflair" vacation home. This individually listed historic monument was built in 1724 as a duplex. In 2023—300 years later—it underwent extensive restoration and was carefully and lovingly modernized. Furnished with great attention to detail, you’ll feel right at home in this house from the moment you arrive.
Guests will find a home where historic charm and modern living needs are perfectly combined. Of course, this doesn’t come without some compromises. You’ll find the stairs to be a bit narrower and steeper than usual. The hallways leading to the rooms are wide enough for one person. However, there are very few places where headroom is limited.
With 4 bedrooms, 2 showers, a bathroom with a tub, a fully equipped kitchen, a closet, and a living/dining room with a fireplace spread across 4 floors, this compact old-town house accommodates 6 people, with a maximum of 8, though 2 of the beds measure 140 x 200 m, so it gets quite cozy for two. It really has everything you need to relax and enjoy your vacation.
All the furnishings have been lovingly selected to combine modern comfort with the look and feel of 300 years ago.
Outside, there’s a small backyard accessible through the house or a narrow alley. We’ve reserved a parking spot for your bicycles in the backyard of the neighboring house, which is easily accessible to you.
Wi-Fi, flat-screen smart TVs in all bedrooms and the living room, games, books, and much more offer every comfort imaginable.
In our opinion, the steep stairs are not suitable for dogs. However, if you’d still like to bring your dog, please contact us. We will decide on a case-by-case basis and only after consultation whether bringing a dog is possible, and we will then inform you of the additional costs and the amount of the security deposit.
