This peaceful rural getaway in the Texas countryside about 30 minutes north of Waller, Tx., is perfect for couples or solo travelers.

Each year from late August through about September 20, hundreds of hummingbirds migrate through the property. The peak arrives in mid‑September, when guests can enjoy extraordinary close‑up viewing from the porch during this brief but magical seasonal event. It is one of the land’s most cherished rhythms and offers a rare chance to sit just feet away as they feed and swirl through the air.

Quiet, peaceful, and rural, yet surprisingly central, the retreat offers easy access to Houston, College Station, Magnolia, and nearby towns. It is a perfect place to unwind, reconnect, and breathe.

The guest house is comfortable and intentionally simple, a space created to support rest. Outside, you have shared access to the shaded wrap‑around porch overlooking the meadow and pond, Enjoy quiet places to sit, sip coffee, watch wildlife, or simply let your nervous system settle. Walking trails wind through the property for slow exploration, reflection, and gentle movement.

Guests interested in deeper rest, grounding, or creative renewal can book optional wellness sessions and art‑based offerings in a separate studio space. These experiences are gentle and restorative and draw on more than 30 years of professional experience as an occupational therapist supporting the nervous system. The multipurpose wellness and creative studio is a calm and intentional environment for stillness, hands‑on healing, wire‑wrapped jewelry creation, and other art‑based practices. It is simply part of the land’s story, and guests are welcome to book a session if they feel called, with absolutely no pressure to do so.

You can enjoy a quiet, private stay with the comfort of knowing I am nearby if anything is needed. I am available for questions about the land, wildlife, or local recommendations, and I am glad to offer guidance when asked. Otherwise, you will have all the privacy you desire.

The land is home to turtles, birds, and seasonal hummingbirds. As with any rural Texas property, mosquitoes, fire ants, and other insects are part of country life. You are welcome to sit on either of the two small docks and enjoy the pondlife and quiet surroundings.

The environment is intentionally low‑scent and chemical‑free, so please avoid perfumes, artificial fragrances, and heavily scented products during your stay. Four steps lead into the casita, and walking trails include areas of uneven ground.

Pets and children are not automatically allowed, but may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis with prior approval. If you would like to request bringing a pet or child, please reach out before booking. Service animals and emotional support dogs are welcome.

Jake, Mia, and Chloe, my friendly resident dogs, live on the property and will surely come say hello. They adore guests. Please do not feed them or invite them inside the guest house.
