Our vacation home, situated in a stunning location, is built in the Nordic tradition. The vacation rental listed here, Fjordhytte-3, is located near the properties FH-1 and FH-2 and is ideal for your fishing trip or your vacation in Norway. This cabin sits slightly elevated on a natural plot of land with a beautiful view of the turquoise Hardangerfjord and the mountains rising steeply from the water. Come stay in this cozy, well-furnished vacation cabin, which features rustic elements and modern touches. The large dining table is the perfect place to start your day and make plans for exciting hikes or excursions.

Outside the vacation home is a large wooden deck from which you can enjoy a unique view of 30 kilometers of open fjord landscape. The house is located about 100 meters from the Hardangerfjord, where the motorboat is moored.

In the evening, guests can wind down the day by the traditional Jøtul wood-burning stove, enjoying its soothing warmth and truly relaxing. Large windows in the living room let in plenty of light, so the interior of the house remains quite bright even on rainy days. The cabin features one bathroom and two bedrooms, accommodating up to 5 people. Local pine has been used as the building material in all rooms, creating a very pleasant living atmosphere.

Not far away lies the small village of Ænes. In the center of the village stands the church, which is the smallest and oldest stone church in this municipality. You can find more information about this under our “Activities” menu.

From Ænes, you can head directly into the Ænes Valley, which rises somewhat steeply up the mountain from the village center. A hike or a fishing trip in the Ænes Valley is highly recommended. You can spend a wonderful day here enjoying nature. Anglers can fish in the river for salmon, sea trout, or smaller brook trout. If you’d rather not fish, simply take a nature hike along the pristine salmon river and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Between Ænes and Sunndal lies the Furebergfossen waterfall, which you can easily reach by car or motorboat. Furebergfossen is the most beautiful waterfall in the area.

There are many hiking trails in the mountains and valleys; a day of hiking is the best way to experience Norway’s unspoiled nature. The tourist information office has many suggested itineraries and maps available for you. You can reach the Folgefonn Glacier from Sunndal or Odda via narrow trails. These hikes are highly recommended when the weather is nice.

The nearest town is Rosendal, which features a sports boutique, supermarkets, restaurants, a café, and more. A visit to the Baronie in Rosendal will round out your vacation. The Baronie features a well-tended rose garden, a charming café, and a unique restaurant serving homegrown vegetables and herbs.

The area surrounding the Hardangerfjord in Hordaland captivates visitors with its breathtaking natural beauty. The Folgefonna Glacier, Folgefonna National Park, deep fjords, and thundering waterfalls can all be marveled at in the area. In this vacation home, you’ll spend your vacation surrounded by Norway’s unspoiled nature.

Two other identical vacation homes, Fjordhytte 1 and 2, are located right next door. All homes are approximately 100 meters from the Hardangerfjord. Pine and birch trees, which provide pleasant shade on sunny days, also ensure plenty of privacy.

Fishing

This vacation home is located near the small village of Ænes, which has only a few residents. Because of the sparse population, the fjord is not overfished, and very fine catches are landed time and again. We ourselves have been fishing in the area around Ænes for 30 years and know the surroundings very well. In your travel documents, you’ll find a map on which we’ve marked our favorite fishing spots.

New fishing regulations for tourists: This property, including the motorboat, FH-3, is registered as a specialized tourism fishing operation; therefore, guests are permitted to export fish from Norway.

Each vacation home has its own motorboat when rented separately, which the tenant of this property may use at any time in good weather. The motorboat is moored in the fjord, approximately 100 meters from the vacation home.
