Detached wooden cottage with a large garden in the Perlhütte neighborhood of Waldmünchen. Small, modern kitchen and a shower room with a window. Two covered terraces. You’re in the woods in two minutes. An ideal starting point for hikes, bike rides, or swimming and water sports at nearby Perlsee, which features a dog-friendly beach.
Please note: No Wi-Fi! The balcony is currently unavailable due to renovation work.
The Elefantenhäuserl has a floor area of 62 square meters; including the garden room in the basement that opens onto the garden, you have 75 square meters.
When you arrive, you’ll immediately see why it’s called the Elefantenhäuserl. There are elephants everywhere: as decorations, on the coffee mugs, as pillows, on the curtains, and on the bedding... The reason: My mom, who had the “Elefantenhäuserl” built in 1975, collected elephants, and her entire collection is now here.
So the “Elefantenhäuserl” isn’t just an empty vacation home for guests. No, I also love to spend my vacations here myself. The advantage for you is that everything will be there when you arrive: games, books, shellac records; in the kitchen, you’ll find spices, canned goods, and even dog food; and cleaning supplies, tools, and medications are already there, too. However, you’re generally responsible for your own supply of groceries and personal care products! So please be considerate—don’t just use up everything, but also restock what you’ve used.
The downside is that storage space is limited. The “Elefantenhäuserl” is already small, and the closets are pretty full with bedding and other stuff. So you’ll have to be a bit selective about where you store your belongings.
On the other hand, you can spread out on two covered terraces and in the large garden. That’s something!
