Gîte "Les Charmes de Castellariis", located in a quiet hamlet on the outskirts of Pouzauges, a small town full of character in the heart of the Vendée bocage.



This gîte is housed in the property's former cowshed and can accommodate 3 people. On the first floor, you'll find a fully-equipped kitchen, a sitting area with TV, bathroom and separate toilet.

Upstairs, a bedroom with 1 double bed and on the mezzanine 1 single bed. Outdoor area with garden furniture. Heating by pellet stove.



The renovation was carried out in an ecological and natural spirit, with a vintage decor.



From here you can discover the region with its villages and castles.

The gîte is only a few kilometers from the Puy du Fou, ideal for your stay between Pouzauges and Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure in the countryside.

"Les Charmes de Castellariis" is an old, tastefully restored house dating from 1791, which will delight you for a few days' vacation or a weekend in the countryside, in a peaceful setting in a village in the heart of the Vendée bocage, at a place called "La Roussière" in the commune of POUZAUGES, a small town of character to the south of Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure, the highest point in the Vendée and a stone's throw from the Puy du Fou.



The property is equipped with a phyto-purification natural sanitation system. Each gîte has its own entrance and private parking.

From here, you'll discover the bocage countryside, with its many atypical old houses, its castles including Châteaumurs and its keep, La Flocellière, Saint-Mesmin, Pouzauges with its narrow streets and, of course, the Puy-du-Fou, its park, its medieval events and its world-renowned cinéscénie. Nearby sites to visit include the Logis de la Chabotterie, the Château de Barbe Bleu in Tiffauges, and the historic center of Mortagne-sur-Sèvre. An hour away, the southern Vendée: the Cour d'Aron gardens, the Poitevin marshes, Maillezais abbey, the village of Vouvant, the Mervent forest, numerous museums and much more.... Many hiking trails nearby.



I love nature, living in the peace and quiet of the countryside, spending time in the garden, browsing flea markets, tinkering, renovating old objects and furniture, and decorative painting. I did all the interior decorating myself, from floor to ceiling, choosing the colors, furniture and decorative objects, all in a spirit of recuperation to give a second life to all those things we no longer want...
