The open kitchen serves as a central gathering place and blends seamlessly with a cozy seating area and the large dining table made of sturdy wood. Here, you can cook, eat, and enjoy each other’s company together. Accommodations include two bedrooms with comfortable double beds, a fold-out sofa bed, and two sleeper chairs that can be used flexibly. The modern bathroom also features a walk-in shower.
The spacious 1,088-square-meter lot offers plenty of room to relax. Particularly impressive is the chestnut tree that gives the property its name, which provides welcome shade in the summer. Guests have access to a lockable garage where, among other things, e-bikes can be charged—perfect for excursions in the surrounding area.

The Schlei adorns the villages along this inlet of the Baltic Sea and is just 1.2 km from the “Landhaus zur alten Eiche” and the “Kastanien-Cottage.” Four kilometers from Bohnert, you’ll find a bakery, a supermarket, and a restaurant. This quiet and relaxed little village is also a great starting point for fabulous bike rides and wonderful hikes through the Schlei villages in the surrounding area.
The Schlei, which is also very popular with water sports enthusiasts, offers several swimming spots at various distances; the closest is just 1.2 km from Bohnert.
Throughout the Schlei region, there are additional places to visit, such as the charming Schlei towns of Kappeln and Arnis, Germany’s smallest town.
