THE LOCATION:

Welcome to Gjoa's Vineyard, an adult orientated, cozy little hideaway nestled in with the vineyards and orchards of the Naramata Bench overlooking Lake Okanagan.

Our seven acre vineyard is located on the peaceful, sunny side of Lake Okanagan in the heart of wine country. We are a short walk to five wineries, a brewery, cidery, beekeeper/honey and several restaurants. The Kettle Valley Bike/Walking Trail (KVR) is literally at your doorstep. We are a short bike ride to several additional wineries as well as the city of Penticton. We are a 5 minute drive to the beach at 3 mile road which is a nice swimming beach.

Whether you visit us for the spring blossoms, the warm summer days, the Peach Festival, Wine-Fest or Autumn Harvest you are sure to fall in love with our magical little corner of the world! The Naramata Bench has recently been named the number one wine region in the world by the "Huffington Post". "Wine Enthusiast Magazine" listed it as one of the 10 best wine travel destinations and "USA Today" ranked it the second best wine region to visit. The Naramata Bench, where Gjoa's Vineyard is located is bursting with over the top natural beauty, and has some of the best views in North America.

NOTE: Please note that if you are booking in our summer months, wildfires and poor air quality can be a possibility. In the circumstance that Gjoa's Vineyard is under evacuation alert or order, the cancellation policy will be waived. In all other circumstances, our normal cancellation policy will apply.

THE GUEST SUITE:

Gjoa's Vineyard offers a wonderful 900 sq. ft. one bedroom fully contained suite with a private patio overlooking Gjoa's Vineyard, Lake Okanagan and the mountains beyond. All you need to bring is your bike, your clubs, a beach blanket and your favorite book.

This suite is for the adult vacationer looking to take in the 54 wineries along the Naramata Bench, the most beautiful area in the Okanagan Valley all while staying in a gorgeous suite overlooking the vineyard, Lake Okanagan and the mountains beyond.

• one bedroom suite with 2 queen beds, goose down comforters with 2 walk-in closets.
• fully equipped newly renovated kitchen has a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, glassware, cutlery and plenty of wine glasses, all the necessities you would have in your own kitchen.

• large dining room comfortably seats 6 adults around the harvest table.
• flat screen Frame TV with DVD player, plenty of DVD's/books, games, a Bose dock for your iPod and the focal point of the entire suite, a large wood burning fireplace.

A little oasis! Loved the garden and pergola where you can spend an evening with a glass of wine or coffee, just magical to walk amongst the vines and watch the sun set. It was so great to be right beside the KVR trail. We sauntered along the path in the evening and even walked to the Hillside winery to have a lovely dinner, with some wine from the Gjoa vineyard. We took the provided bikes up the KVR trail, super fun. We cooked most of our meals in the well-appointed kitchen, and Gjoa and John even shared some of their garden tomatoes with us for our salad. Thx! It was a truly lovely holiday!

This is a wonderful place to stay. The suite is clean, lacks for nothing and has the most beautiful patio, shaded, private with a view of the vineyard. The owners have thought of everything. It is conveniently located between Naramata and Penticton and right next to the KVR trail. It's definitely top of our list for the Okanagan.

Beautifully sited outside of Penticton just off the Naramata road and right on the KVR. Its views over the vineyards and the gardens and bird bath are great evening wine viewing. 3 mile beach is close and Hillside winery very close and good food. The suite is fitted out to a very high degree of comfort and John and Gjoa excellent hosts. We used the bikes most days and it’s a very bike friendly area. Naramata was a nice outing for lunch and Poplar Grove winery outstanding food. We were very comfortable and staying outside of Penticton is recommended.

Gjoa’s Vineyard: Wonderful Inside and Out

We couldn’t have asked for more. A spacious, comfortable home away from home with stunning views on a working vineyard. We had to talk ourselves into moving from the deck. Gjoa and John are gracious and helpful. A very well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, double walk inn closets, a TV that we could actually catch a Blue Jays game on... We didn't use the bikes provided or the fireplace but it is great knowing that they are there for the next time! The location is very close to both Penticton and Naramata. The local wineries are outstanding. The description and pictures are accurate but can't possibly capture all that this property is. We have had many great stays on the Naramata Bench and area but this is our absolute favorite!

Gorgeous setting, wonderful hosts

Totally lovely setting with view of vineyard and on to mountains and Okanagon Lake. One bedroom apartment well-appointed and supplied for cooking. On extensive bike trail system; near many excellent wineries. John and Gjoa are truly wonderful hosts. Highly recommended stay!

Loved it Here and Highly Recommend

The property is even better than pictured. And, it included things often not found at other properties including cooking knives that are actually sharp and two closets in the bedroom with a place to put your luggage. The view is gorgeous and the vibe is relaxed. Basically on the KVR trail and close to many restaurants/wineries. Highly recommend!

Beautiful vineyard stay

The pictures don't due the property justice. The patio walkout was directly into the vineyard and was so beautiful and peaceful. We loved sitting on the patio with a glass a wine in the evening, they even provided blankets for the patio for those cooler evenings. I would highly recommend walking over to Hillside winery and buying a bottle of the Gjoa merlot. How often can you buy a bottle of wine made with the grapes from the vineyard you stayed at? Super fun. The property was very clean and well maintained and perfectly suited for my friend and I. Also loved using the bikes to ride up the KVR. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return if in the area again.

Great place to stay!

The views of the vineyard from the deck are beautiful! It was lovely having coffee in the morning and wine at night out on the deck enjoying the view. The suite had a very well stocked kitchen, comfortable furniture to lounge on in the living room and a very comfy bed! Lots of storage and closet space so we could put our stuff away and feel like we were at home. Gjoa and John were wonderful hosts, we arrived later in the evening the day of check in and were greeted with corn on the cob and a bottle of wine! The KVR trail is basically right out the front door, we took advantage of walking along the trail most days. Walking distance to some wineries and a brewery was a bonus for sure! Hit the brewery for lunch a couple of times, delicious pizza. Gjoa and John, we truly enjoyed our visits with both of you, it was nice to get to know you. We will definitely be back! Barry & Donna

A weekend at Gjoa's

I can't begin to say how great a stay our weekend at Gjoa's was. The suite was huge, comfortable, quiet, close to a number of vineyards to start our tour and most of all the amazing back deck. The property is located perfectly between Naramata and Penticton so you never feel far from either. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place to stay when you are in the area.

Great place, great area

John opened the place up for us and left behind a bottle of wine from their grapes. A bowl of organic honey crisps arrived the next day. Lovely 1 bedroom place right on a vineyard. Great views of the fields and the lake. Well appointed and very well supplied kitchen. Toured wineries up the Naramata Bench. Is a great location to tour the entire south Okanagan Wine Country .

Great stay

My husband and I spent a few days exploring the Penticton area wineries and sights and John and Gjoya’s place was the perfect spot for us to use as a base camp. It is spacious, comfortable, very, very well equipped and quiet. The location is just a few minutes outside of town with easy access by bike or on foot via the KVR which we used a lot. We really appreciated the use of bicycles and beach chairs and towels - a hot ride followed by a swim in the lake was a perfect day. John and Gjoya are gracious and accommodating hosts and communication was excellent. Highly recommend Elma’s as a place to eat in town and the Naramata Inn for a finer dining experience, the cheeserie down the road and Pentage and Laughing Stock wineries were two of our favorites but there are many to explore. I would come back to this spot and recommend it to others.

Gorgeous Vineyard Stay

Gjoa and John's location is amazing for both views and places to visit. The kitchen is well stocked, everything was comfortable and the one issue we had, broken microwave, was taken care of promptly during the visit! We used most of the homes amenities as we found ourselves struggling to go out and visit places in the Okanagan or stay in and enjoy the beautiful property.

Excellent Hosts & Excellent Location

The unit is bright, clean, beautiful and fully self contained. We enjoyed the patio overlooking the vineyard. The location is perfect - right beside the KVR trail and on the bench by excellent wineries. Beach is nearby. Couldn’t ask for better hosts than John and Gjoa. They are friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed meeting them and look forward to future stays at Gjoa’s Vineyard.

Our honeymoon in Gjoa 's vineyard with a breathtaking view

The suite is spacious, yet cozy, and beautifully decorated. There is a large deck looking out to the vineyard, the lake and the hills. My husband and I cannot sleep in the same bed because we wake each other up, so we were delighted that the bedroom offers two queen beds, which were very comfortable. An extensive book was provided with information on restaurants, wineries, hikes etc. We really enjoyed our chats with John and Gjoa. I highly recommend staying with them.

An outstanding property in every respect.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Every need has been carefully considered and provided for in advance. Very private, wonderful to enjoy your morning coffee and afternoon wine on the patio amidst the vineyard. BBQ was great. Just a short walk to nearby wineries and artisanal cheese maker and a short drive to nearby restaurants and shopping in town. John and Gjoa were very gracious hosts and very accommodating.

Relaxation in the heart of wine country

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Gjoa's Vineyard! The Naramata Bench location is perfect and situated right in the middle of multiple vineyards. The accommodation itself is extremely well laid out, with higher end finishes than you would expect at a rental. It is a large and private space with modern kitchen and all the amenities you require. It has direct access to a sun soaked deck that overlooks the vineyard with views to Okanagan Lake. You are free to take a stroll through the vineyard and have a glass of wine in the pergola area while taking in the lake views. The location is perfect and is mere steps to multiple wineries and a great bistro across the road. Also offers direct access to trail systems which offer fantastic opportunities for biking or hiking. Dozens of wineries for wine sampling abound. Don't forget to check out the historic town of Naramata or the many patios/bistros in the area for a fantastic lunch. We even enjoyed a quick dip in the lake at at the beach which is only a two minute drive away. The hosts Gjoa & John are lovely people and have created something quite lovely in Gjoa's Vineyard. Thanks for a great trip!

Live like a Vintner

Want to have a great time being right in the vines with great accommodation and a gourmet kitchen? We did and Gjoa and John's little slice of heaven delivered! Perfect location in the Naramata Bench and right on the Kettle Creek Trail access. The inside space is as good as the outside and everything you need is already there. We can't wait to come back for another fix of: Living like a Vintner (without all of the work ;-)

Nothing Short of Perfect !

We couldn’t have asked for a better place than Gjoa’s Vineyard to enjoy or 20th Anniversary Getaway. The photos depict exactly what you should expect if you are fortunate enough to rent this slice of heaven. It was cozy and comfortable, a walk or bike ride to the KVR and numerous wineries close by, and in the vicinity of many day-tripping possibilites. Wouldn’t want to change anything! Gjoa's Vineyard

Loved this place - it was tranquil, well-appointed, and in a perfect location for touring up and down the Naramata Bench. The patio overlooking the garden and vineyard will spoil you for anywhere else, especially when the short-eared owl comes to visit. John and Gjoa were gracious hosts, friendly and helpful but otherwise we felt we were alone in a little corner of paradise. We can't wait to come back.
