This Historical Home is located in Mavrikiano, overlooking the bay and seaside village of Elounda. It is just a 5-minute walk from the centre of Elounda.
The traditionally built house combines rustic features with luxurious features. The interior features exposed brickwork, wooden beams and elegant furniture, creating a warm and homely environment. It can accommodate 4 persons. A/C included. Entering small dining and sitting area. On the right kitchen with all utensils. The door on the left leads to a bedroom with two single beds and further to the second bedroom with matrimonial bed. Adjoining the bathroom with Jacuzzi. In the outside area private dining table to sit four adults and next swimming pool to be shared with another Home. Private parking for two cars. All the furniture are copies of originals found in the Historical Museum of Heraklion, Crete, but the lamps and fittings are original. Tiles used are hand made, dated c 1920, taken from old demolished houses and the marble sink was found in a Turkish Hammam. The taps are copies of those of the 1920's. The reddish plaster on the walls is made of ground tiles, the same material that was used in the monasteries of the period 14th - 16th century. There is evidence handed down through the generations that there was a church on this site many years ago
The balcony has outstanding valley and pool view, with dining table, summer kitchen and BBQ. Guests have use of the communal swimming pool. Available common parking space (up to 4 cars).
On arrival on the Main Square and Port of the main village of Elounda and at the far end you will see the Cathedral. Wait for us there and call the hotel keeper VANGELLIS who will collect you and show you the way.
The beach is 300 meters away, also the city of Elounda. Distance from IRAKLION Town and International Airport: 75km Distance from ST NICOLAS town: 17km Distance from sea resort of Plaka: 1.5 km Distance from the village of Elounda: 7km Daily boat trips to Spinalonga ex Plaka 10 minutes by boat.
