The sofa bed provides flexibility depending on the composition of the family, but the accommodation is designed for the nominal capacity indicated. The top bunk bed is not authorised for children under 6 years of age. All the accommodation is fully furnished and equipped and has a terrace with garden furniture. They also have a mini hi-fi system and/or a CD-radio-alarm clock. Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout. Bed linen and towels can be provided. TV and DVD player available for hire. Laundry room available to guests at low cost (washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron).
Gavaudun is a small medieval village, dominated by its 11th-century castle with a remarkable keep, nestling between the Lot and Dordogne valleys, close to the majestic châteaux of Biron and Bonaguil and the bastides of Monflanquin and Monpazier. Sarlat and its festival, Rocamadour, Saint Emilion, Les Eyzies, Cahors, Moissac, Nérac, the prehistoric caves of Lascaux, Font de Gaume, Pech Merle and many other exceptional sites await your visit. Périgord is also particularly renowned for its gastronomy: ducks, truffles, ceps, foie gras... accompanied by Bergerac, Monbazillac and Cahors wines... Last but not least, there are many cultural events organised in the region to suit everyone.
Well-behaved pets are welcome, but please avoid July and August if possible (too many children not used to dogs). The estate is a real paradise for dogs, with long, free walks around the extensive grounds. The estate is very quiet and peaceful outside the high season, except on wedding weekends. It obviously becomes busier in July and August with children and teenagers, but the estate is very large and most of the accommodation is away from the centre of life (with the exception of the gîtes). You'll have no trouble relaxing on your private terrace or in the surrounding meadows while your children play together.
