WE ARE PLEASED TO WELCOME GUESTS to Suncaliste. Suncaliste d.o.o apartment is situated in Pula's most exclusive suburb - Pjescana Uvala and has spectacular views overlooking the bay. It also benefits from a large private terrace with sun loungers and dining furniture for 'al fresco' eating. We will provide you with a guide to Istria if you reserve the apartment and also lots of guides and books are contained in the apartment.

We also provide the services of a property manager - Dave and his Croatian Wife Vlasta have been working with us for many years now and as well as greeting you on arrival, Dave is available to make sure you have all you need for an enjoyable holiday.

The kitchen is fully equipped or alternatively you could select the cuisine from the various restaurants around the beach and harbour areas which are 3 mins walk away. The apartment has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. It has a modern feel and a well equipped kitchen containing a full oven, hob, fridge, drinks fridge, toaster, coffee machine etc. The terrace is 60m2 and the views are simply stunning.

We regularly update the facilities and recent years have seen a new sofa, terrace furniture, kitchen and for 2025 a new bathroom.

There are several restaurants in Pjescana Uvala, for all prices. Previous guests have chartered a yacht from the marina, enjoyed walking, sightseeing and some a good book and a glass of wine on the terrace! It's the location of this apartment which makes it special ! Pjescana Uvala is beautiful and possibly the best area of Pula. You will always love the view.

The apartment is in Istria and this is a very special part of Croatia. This is because there is so much to see and do, within a very close area. Pula has stunning Roman antiquities as well as some lovely pebble beaches. The area of Cape Kamenjak is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Wonderful views, walks, beaches including the Safari Bar - well known place to grab lunch in among the shade of the sea grass. Rovinj, Porec and Vrsar are all about 30 - 45 minute drive. Each 3 are stunning harbour towns with cobbled streets cascading down from Bell Towers to Marinas. Plenty of shops in Rovinj and Porec. Vrsar is particularly beautiful around the Bell Tower and Church with views over the coast and islands. Vrsar has a sculpture park.

A trip to Brijuni Islands is a memorable trip. It's a boat trip from Fazana (20 minutes from Pula). The islands are beautiful and were once the home of President Tito. There is a very interesting museum showing his life history.
Novigrad is a lovely coastal town with restaurants and a marina and harbour. It also has a new water park which has recently opened if you like water slides! It is a 50 -60 minute drive from the apartment.

The east coast of Istria stretches all the way from Pula to Opatija. Labin is about a 40 minute drive. It's another lovely town with another Bell Tower and cobbled streets. It is home to many artists who have galleries. There is a sculpture park just outside town. On the coast below Labin is Rabac. This town has lovely small coves and a harbour. It is a little developed. After Labin, the east coast road is stunning as it hugs the coastline so the views are over the islands of Cres and Krk. Its a wonderful drive and after 20 minutes you will arrive at Moscenika Draga. Wonderful seaside town. Quite small. Restaurants all hug the beach. The is a lovely harbour. The Beach is very beautiful....however if you walk along the back of the beach a path leads to another beach which is just a little nicer and less busy. Many people do not know it exists! Then the coast continues to Opatija - a large town with boutiques and restaurants. The architecture is Austro Hungarian and the cars are Italian, red and sports cars!

However to go to Istria and only see the coast is to miss so much. Istria has a heart to it. Vineyards you can drop into and do some wine tasting, Olive groves to sample olive oil, Hill Towns, Stunning hills and views. Motovan is a small stunning hill town with beautiful little shops and galleries. Groznjan is another stunning little hill town. It is home to about a dozen art galleries and not much else...apart from the views, views and more views. There are a couple of restaurants.

Top Lage

Check in hat super funktioniert. Dave war zur ausgemachten Zeit schon vor dem Apartment. Parkmöglichkeiten vor dem Apartment sind etwas schwierig, aber oberhalb der Wohnung neben der Kirche war immer ein Platz frei. Wohnung war sauber und sehr großzügig. Super Lage, 👍

Super Lage!!!

Ein unvergesslicher Urlaub! Ein sauberer Ort, die Einheimischen sehr freundlich, die Preise in der Bar, im Restaurant und Supermarkt vollkommen in Ordnung. Das Haus ist etwa 30-40 Min Autofahrt von Premantura und Rovinj entfernt, beide Orte haben wir mehrmals besucht und werden diese vermissen. Die Beachbar vor Ort auch mit Live-Musik. Die Zahlung leider nicht überall mit Karte möglich. Der Gastgeber hat uns sehr viele Tipps gegeben, vielen lieben Dank dafür!

Toller Ausblick auf die Bucht

Das Apartment ist nicht gut gepflegt, fleckige Bettdecken und Sofakissen. Es gibt keinen Geschirrspühler und es fehlt eine Teekanne. Der betreuende Ansprechpartner Dave ist sehr nett und reagiert sofort auf Wünsche. Wir hätten uns über mehrere gute Sonnenschirme für die große Terrasse gefreut. Es gibt keinen Schatten und es war sehr heiß.

Bester Urlaub überhaupt!!!

Sehr schöner Urlaub!

Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Die Ausstattung ließ nichts zu wünschen übrig. Sehr nahe am Meer nur 2 längere Treppen bis zum Strand (ca. 4 min Gehzeit). Der Hausverwalter war sehr nett und entgegenkommend. Hat uns auch viele Tipps gegeben. Alles Super! Jederzeit gerne wieder!

Beautiful views

Stayed here with my family for a week. The terrace is lovely and a beautiful view. The property manager, Dave, was very helpful. both him and the owner were responsive to our problems. I guess we were the first tenants of the season to use the air conditioning and it did not work the first 2 nights. Which the ac is only in the living area so to get air in the bedrooms you have to sleep with the door open. We were very hot the first 2 nights and struggled sleeping as we couldn't open the master bedroom window because of the ants there. They were able to get a repair man out after the second night. The wifi speed they had paid for was 4mbps, the speed we were getting was 0.5-1mbps, the owner ended up upgrading the internet speed up to 35mbps. It helped but was intermittent. So it was very frustrating to try to open an email or have our kids watch a show, since there isn't tv. They have a screen for watching DVDs. We ended up paying for a local sim card to use as a hotspot to get internet as my husband needed it to work in the evenings. The guide provided by the owners was so nice and helpful for the area for things to do. Street parking is directly in front of the home, but the neighbors had issues with this. So we were yelled at the first day, and a nicer neighbor told us where we could park. David had told us 2 places, but 1 neighbor didn't approve. It is open parking though. Just some info for future renters. Excellent place though!

Perfektes Apartement für unseren Kurzurlaub im Mai. Riesengroße Terrasse, die den kompletten Tag sonnenbeschienen ist! Im Mai toll, im Hochsommer evt. doch zu warm?! Das Apartement war sehr sauber. Der Kontakt sehr nett. Über 2 längere Treppen kommt man direkt zum Meer. Hinweg 5 Minuten. Rückweg ist halt bergauf… also tägliches Fitnessprogramm…!

Im Großen und Ganzen ein gelungener Urlaub

In der Unterkunft war alles wie vorher beschrieben und hatte alles was man braucht. Die Sauberkeit war in Ordnung, sie hätte in manchen Bereichen, z.Bsp. Badezimmer, besser sein können. Der Ausblick von der Terrasse war grandios und der Kontakt zu unserem Verwalter Dave war ebenfalls super. Er gab uns einige hilfreiche Tipps für unseren Urlaubsaufenthalt.

Appartment mit großer Terrasse und Meerblick

Das Appartment ist für 4 Personen sehr geräumig und bestens ausgestattet. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig in einem Wohngebiet, 5 Minuten zu Fuß zum Meer und Restaurants. Die große Terrasse ist das Highlight und verfügt über einen schönen Meerblick. Einzig die Beschattung der südwestseitig gelegenen Terrasse könnte verbessert werden (neue große Sonnenschirme), da es untertags sehr heiß wird.

Die Wohnung könnte mit wenig Aufwand zu einer Traumwohnung werde!

Die Buchung und der Kontakt zum Vermieter hat wunderbar funktioniert. Dir Wohnung selber ist vollkommen ausreichend. Die Lage ist top. Man ist in wenigen Minuten am schönen Strand. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind teilweise zu Fuß erreichbar, z. B. der Bäcker in der Früh:) Aber man bräuchte ein Auto um Großeinkäufe zu machen. Parkplätze sind rar. Jetzt zu der Wohnung selber… Wir waren zu viert: wir Eltern und unsere Kinder( 16 u. 18 Jahre). Die Schränke könnten etwas mehr Platz haben. Es hieß, die Wohnung wird sauber übergeben sein. Das war leider nicht der Fall. Ja, sie war besenrein. Aber die war nicht sauber, die war dreckig. Die Küchenschränke und die beiden Kühlschränke musste ich erstmal richtig sauber machen. Die waren innen nicht sauber. Die Folge davon war, dass man das ganze Geschirr nochmal abgespült hat, weil man nicht sicher war, wie sauber das Geschirr ist. Die Gläser waren umgedreht auf einem Regal gestanden, das mehrmals gewischt und desinfiziert werden sollte, bis die Tücher nicht mehr schwarz waren. Der Boden war richtig dreckig. Nach einmal Durchlaufen waren die Füße schwarz. Die Bodenleisten hast du vor Dreck nicht gesehen. Fazit… Die Wohnung hat eine Top Lage und ist gut geschnitten. Die Terrasse ist der Hammer. Die Wohnung müsste komplett gereinigt werden: Ecken, Abflüsse( man will den Stöpsel nicht unbedingt in die Hand nehmen), Klo, Klobürste… Am Ende des Aufenthalts muss man die Bettwäsche selber abziehen. Ich war froh, dass ich die nicht selber beziehen musste. Sonst hätte ich auf den Matratzen nicht schlafen können. Ich würde dem Vermieter dringend empfehlen paar Euro in die Hand zu nehmen und diese in die Hygiene der Wohnung zu investieren. Das kostet wirklich nicht viel Matratzenschoner zu kaufen und die einfach mit der Bettwäsche zusammen zu waschen. Dann ist das Bett hygienisch und angenehm sauber. Phil, lass die Wohnung von oben nach unten professionell reinigen. Das ist wirklich dringend notwendig. Und heute mit Corona ist es noch mehr als so sonst ein Muss! Ich habe jetzt nicht unbedingt nach richtigen Worten gesucht sondern habe einfach runtergeschtieben. Ich war selber jedes Mal froh, wenn ich solche „runtergeschriebenen“ Bewertungen gelesen habe. So wusste ich, woran ich bin. Im Grunde, wenn ich in Urlaub fahre, muss der Aufenthalt gute Lage haben und sauber sein. Darauf kommt es einfach an !

Schönes Apartment mit tollem Meerblick

Das Apartment ist geräumig und die Dachterrasse sehr groß. Man hat einen wunderbaren Blick aufs Meer. Bis zum Strand läuft man ca. 5 Minuten. Die Kommunikation verlief schnell und unkompliziert. Wir hatten insgesamt eine schöne Zeit und können das Apartment auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

schön ruhig in der Nachsaison

In dieser Ferienwohnung hat man alles, was man im Urlaub braucht. Wie schon mehrfach geschrieben wurde, ist die Terrasse das Highlight. Und für uns diese Stille im September... außer Schwalbengezwitscher hört man nichts! Die Buchung war innerhalb von Stunden abgewickelt. Der Verwalter vor Ort (Dave) war jederzeit erreichbar und sehr hilfsbereit. Das Auto konnten wir genau vor der Tür parken. Zu Fuß ist man innerhalb von 3 Minuten (immer treppab) an einer kleinen Bucht mit Kiesstrand. Badeschuhe fand ich sehr nützlich. Dort gibt es auch mehrere Restaurants und Strandbars, wo man es sich gut gehen lassen kann. Was mir nicht gefallen hat, war der Geruch im Bad! Es war jetzt teilweise schon kühl, so dass wir nicht ständig alle Fenster und Türen offen stehen haben konnten, um zu lüften. Das mag im Hochsommer anders sein. Ansonsten kann man sich hier sehr gut erholen und wir überlegen schon, ob wir das Appartement im nächsten September wieder buchen.

Fabulous terrace views

One of the loveliest terraces of any property we’ve stayed in. The sun reaches the terrace pretty much all day and with the furniture provided you can lounge in the sun, sit in the shade and eat in the more sheltered corner with the fabulous view of the really beautiful cove. The early mornings are particularly tranquil. The apartment had everything you need, a well equipped kitchen and also the loan of padded beach loungers which help on the rugged rocks by the coast. This is nothing to do with the apartment but I would hire a car in this area in August as the beach and coast were busy and it would have been good to have the option to explore further afield. A lovely week 😎

Excellent stay

The owner of the property could not have been more helpful with information about the house and area. We went to many places he suggested and his advice was very sound. The house is very pleasant with good amenities and superb view. The local beach and village were lovely.

Gorgeous apartment with a stunning view

We had a two week stay in Suncaliste and cannot fault it in any way. The apartment had excellent facilities (lovely new fitted kitchen) and it has the wow factor with the view from the lovely large terrace. We spent most of our time sitting or sunbathing here looking over the bay. We rented a car and had trips to various places in Istria and the airport is only 15 minute drive away. There are some eating places and bars in Pjescana Uvala which are reasonably priced with excellent food. The people are lovely and we were made to feel welcome wherever we went. One of the highlights of our holiday was seeing the 4 tenors performing at Cave Romane which was just along the road from the apartment - a very memorable experience. Dave, the property manager, was on hand to answer any queries but as he did such a good introduction to the apartment and the surrounding area, we did not need to contact him. Phil and Karen, we are envious of your little piece of paradise in Istria and hope to return some day soon.

Ideal location and apartment

Pjescana Uvala is a delightful small resort south of Pula, ideally situated for exploring the region of Istria. It has a small supermarket and two lovely beaches close to the apartment and many more in the surrounding area. The apartment has a beautiful view of the bay from a large roof terrace and is a five minute walk from the two local beaches. It is simply furnished with a well equipped kitchen, unlimited hot water supply, an air conditioned sitting area and two bedrooms (one double and one twin). One is spoilt for choice of what to do and see in the surrounding region and a car is a must to make the most of the holiday although there is a good bus service into Pula. An early morning swim to start the day and it was wonderful to come back to the apartment after a day's sightseeing and have a leisurely meal al fresco on the roof terrace, although there are good local restaurants as well. Altogether an ideal apartment in an ideal area. We had a great holiday.

Apartment Suncaliste in Pjescala Uvala

Wir waren Ende Mai im Apartment Suncaliste in Pjescala Uvala. Das Appartment bietet alle Annehmlichkeiten (Waschmaschine, Lesemöglichkeiten mit dimmbaren Leuchten, sehr gute Matrazen in den Betten usw.) die man im Urlaub (in den Ferien) erwartet. Angenehme Größe der Wohnung, gute Einteilung der Zimmer, hohe Decken. Nicht zu vergessen die wunderbar große Terrasse mit Blick aufs Meer. Als Taiji-Anhänger waren wir in der Lage dort problemlos unsere Taiji-Form zu üben. Liebe Karen, lieber Phil, vielen Dank, daß wir in diesem Appartment unseren Urlaub verbringen durften. Gerne würden wir wieder kommen!

Beautiful apartment with great terrace & views

Well equipped apartment with everything I needed. Brand new kitchen which is lovely. Huge terrace for lounging around. Great views of the bay and short walk to local beaches and supermarket. Perfect location for combining beach days and exploring the area further.

Brilliant

My recent stay at Suncaliste with friends was superb, the location of the apartment was brilliant, very close to the beach, which was perfect and very convenient. There are several shops and restaurants locally all in very good walking distance which was brilliant as we didn't have a car. It is very easy to get a bus in and out of Pula if wanting to visit for the day. The apartment was very clean and tidy had everything that you would need provided, was very well maintained, I would highly recommend to family or friends to stay at Suncaliste for future holidays. Thanks all for my stay.

We are a family of 4. We have enjoyed holidays at the apartment every year over the past 20 years. It is a safe environment in which the children have felt very comfortable. What we enjoy from our holidays may be what you like doing: Lots of swimming, walking, exploring, visiting SO many places of interest all of which are easy to get to withinn Istria, relaxing and reading and taking in the stunning views over the bay.

Sometimes we eat in and others we eat at various restaurants around the area.

We wanted somewhere that we knew we would enjoy as a family holiday and not get tired of. Suncaliste is now part of us. We have long standing friendships with our neighbours. When we viewed the property, we saw about 10 properties for sale in and around Pula, Porec and Medulin and this one was the only one we were serious about. Once you see the view it will become clear. The other major factor is the fact it is in a village and has a friendly, exclusive feel to it with all necessary ammenities inclusing 2 good beaches a 3 minute walk from the apartment. However it is a 5 minute drive to 4 other beaches, 15 minutes to 3 further beaches, 5 minute drive or bus ride into Pula, easy to get to supermarkets. Finally the whole of Istria is available to you and this is a very special place and easily accessible.

Istria is a unique place in Europe. It is influenced by Italian, Croatian and Austro- Hungarian heritage and this is found in the architecture, buildings, people and food. There is so much to see and most of it is very easy to get to. Roman ruins, Beautiful Islands, Spectacular views, Hilltop towns, Stunning harbour towns, Great Beaches, Shops, Leasure activities, Amazing churches, Incredible Frescos, Unesco Heritage Sites. These are just a few and all within 1 hour from Pjescana and the apartment.
