Ground Floor Apartment

Our holiday apartment is located on the edge of the village of Husen (1,200 inhabitants) in the idyllic Altenau Valley, about 20 km from Paderborn. The house, built in 1945, was extensively renovated in 2021/22 using natural plasters and paints. Thick exterior walls keep it pleasantly cool in summer, while the new gas heating provides cozy warmth in winter. Electricity is generated by our own photovoltaic system. The A33 and A44 motorways are about 10 minutes away—ideal if you are seeking peace and relaxation.



The Altenau Valley offers many cycling and hiking trails, such as the Sintfeldhöhenweg and the Almeradweg. On hot days, the Altenautal natural swimming pool in Atteln, 2 km away, invites you to cool off (chlorine-free, suitable for allergy sufferers). Nearby attractions include the LWL Museum Kloster Dahlheim, the pilgrimage site Kleinenberg with its Marian chapel and Lourdes grotto, and the medieval deserted village of Blankenrode with its "Hörwald"—especially exciting for children.



The apartment (approx. 98 sqm) is on the ground floor of a house with two holiday apartments and is accessible via a small step. Ample parking is available directly in front of the door. The bright living room is furnished with solid wood furniture and a leather sofa. In the adjoining room, separated by a glass door, there is a sofa bed for two extra guests or a cozy reading and relaxation area. A wood-burning stove provides extra atmosphere in winter. The well-equipped kitchen with dining area is ideal for up to 4 guests. There is also an accessible bathroom with walk-in shower.



Our Bioland dairy farm with a small farm shop is just 140 m away: Here you can get fresh milk, eggs, our own honey, as well as tea, spices, potatoes, onions, and regional organic beer.
