Le STOP: The friendly B&B in nature-loving Calvados. Pet-friendly!

Ideally located just 20 minutes from the A84 motorway, my Norman guesthouse sits in the heart of the nature-rich Calvados region. The location offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling, and cultural excursions. The charming towns of Villedieu-les-Poêles and Vire are just a few kilometers away, and the spectacular Saint-Sever natural area is within three kilometers. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of unspoiled nature and a night sky perfect for stargazing.

I designed the two guest rooms to be simple yet stylish, with plenty of space for luggage. The rooms are interconnected by a door, making them ideal for a family with children or a group of friends.

The family suite consists of two rooms connected by a door; they must be booked together. The price includes both rooms. The sofa bed can serve as a second bed for an additional person.

The nightly rate covers both rooms and a continental breakfast for three people. Additional breakfasts cost €15 per person per day and can be paid for in advance or by credit card.

Enjoy coffee, tea, hot chocolate, croissants, traditional baguettes, specialty breads, hard-boiled eggs, jam, juice, and local products such as cheese, ham, pâté, and fruit.

The breakfast room is open from 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Weather permitting, breakfast can also be served outdoors.

A lounge area is available for your personal use at any time; here you will find a refrigerator, a microwave, an electric kettle, and an orig. ...a French press, a toaster, and tableware.

I value a beautiful view and peace and quiet, combined with a central location that serves as a starting point for many delightful excursions and tours of discovery in the Calvados region, which begins right here. From the room, you can enjoy a magnificent, unobstructed landscape that seems to stretch on forever. A picture-perfect sunset, paired with a glass of wine, makes for a rewarding end to the day...

The idea for the house's name came from a table I bought at a flea market (*brocante*).

My property is ideally located approximately 40 km from the sea:

- 57 km directly to Mont-Saint-Michel via the A84 (a 44-minute drive)
- to the Bec d'Andaine bay, where you can see Mont- Saint-Michel
- 40 km to Granville
- 90 km to Omaha Beach
- the A84 motorway is 10 km away

My house is situated in a quiet spot but enjoys an excellent location on the D524 connecting road, right next to the town hall. A small, tree-lined driveway with a wooden gate leads to the house, with ample parking available.

Villedieu-les-Poêles is just nine kilometers away. The town is famous for the traditional Cornille-Havard bell foundry, its coppersmiths, and the art of bobbin lace-making, which is showcased in a local museum. It is a very charming small town with an authentic French atmosphere and plenty of good restaurants and cafés.

The larger town of Vire lies in the opposite direction, about eighteen kilometers away. As the southernmost municipality in the Calvados department, it offers a great shopping experience. A fantastic market takes place there on Fridays, and supermarkets and shopping districts are spread throughout the town.

An electric vehicle charging station is right in front of the house.

The garden features a permanent exhibition dedicated to the horse—both as a working animal and as a movie star. You will also find many high-quality photographs throughout the house.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge; you can scan the access code in the entrance area.

Excursions in the surrounding area:

Interested in cycling, watching donkeys, or seeing free-range turkeys? From your accommodation, you can walk over to pet a charming group of donkeys, and a free-range turkey breeding farm is located right across the way. On the way there, you will pass the organic farm "La Ferme du Refuge," which welcomes visitors!

For cycling, you can use the "Voie Verte" (Greenway), which runs along the D524 road about eight kilometers from my home. Along the way, you will pass the charming village of Saint-Sever, where you can find a "Carrefour" supermarket with a gas station, a pharmacy, a delicious bakery, a butcher shop, a greengrocer, and—above all—a natural forest with great hiking trails. And don't forget: there is also a cozy bar(Bar du Bocage).
