A wholly converted barn with all comforts, ideal for a quiet holiday!

This attractive self contained apartment adjoining the 'Podere la Fonte' has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suite). Apart from the living room, it is possible to enjoy time in the kitchen-dining room where there is a wood burning fire (in addition to the central heating throughout), one more reason not to rule out a stay in the autumn or winter when perhaps you can witness or take part in the wine and olive harvests and enjoy the taste of mushrooms and the lovely colors of our surrounding woodland. But if you prefer the warm months, then you will enjoy plenty al fresco eating on your patio fitted with table and chairs under the walnut tree reserved for your own use. This may be just what you need after a trip to the nearby sandy Tuscan beaches which we find have a great pull on our guests.

Public tennis court (to be booked locally), 5 minutes walk. Nice natural pool in the river Cecina for splashing at ten minutes by car. Nature reserves nearby. There is always something of interest happening in this area, the heart of Tuscany. The accommodation is most comfortable in all weathers so why not consider a holiday here in the autumn or winter as well as spring and summer!

Podere La Fonte is a working farm as well as tourist residence (“Podere” is Italian for farm). The main products are olives and grapes which are grown organically and made into wine and olive oil on the farm. The wine and oil may be purchased from the farm shop and is both delicious and good value. Emanuela also creates herbal tea infusions and a number of jams from the fruit trees on the farm.
