Checkin with the lock box was great....very easy. And the kitchen had everything we needed! This was definitely the gathering spot along with the outside deck attached.

The host was exceedingly responsive and helpful as we planned our trip and during our stay. The house is excellently situated with beautiful views and exactly the type of beachfront we wanted for our kids (tidal pools, starfish, place to throw rocks into the water, crabs, etc.). Even at high tide, there is still beach to walk along, which was great. The spacious kitchen was a gift for those of us who were in charge of coordinating the meals, and the spacious, high-ceilinged common space was perfect for gathering for games and puzzles. Our excursions included a night out in Blue Hill to hear live music (Blaze BBQ), a lovely hike through the pine woods on Peter's Brook trail, a trip to Acadia to drive up Cadillac Mountain and have lunch in Bar Harbor, dinner at the stellar Perry's Lobster Shack, and a fabulous afternoon at Kneisel Hall for the Chamber Music festival. We had perfect weather, minimal insects, and a fantastic time together in honor of my mother-in-law's 80th birthday. There were 6 of us in the group, age range 9 to 80.

Beautiful house

We had a great stay - the house was large and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked. Being right on the water was really fun - we got to see lots of crabs. Beds were comfortable. Home owner was very helpful and communicated frequently.

Loved this home!

Large beautiful oceanfront home with beautiful views! Plenty of room for our extended family, private bathrooms for everyone, large kitchen with lots of seating, downstairs rec room was great and outdoor spaces were awesome. Can’t say enough good things!

Great house with amazing waterfront access and views. The host allows guests to use their kayaks and we saw seals, eagles, and all sorts of other wildlife in the water right off the house. The house is very comfortable with a lot of sleeping space, a large kitchen, and ample areas to gather. 20-60 min drive to amazing hiking and lots of fun things to do

Beautiful setting

We had 11 family members stay at this wonderful house. Everyone had a bed and each family had access to a shared bathroom. The grandkids loved going crabbing and just being by the ocean. It was the perfect setting and house for our three families. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!

Beautiful house, great location, amazing experience

The house was well stocked, spacious and beautiful. Everything as described in the listing. The owner Dottie is very quick to respond to any messages and needs. A wonderful place to stay if you have a big party and want to stay under one roof.

Great find!

Wonderful week spent with our family, from teens to seniors. Something for everyone to do. Enjoyed time on the water, touring Acadia, and exploring the Blue Hill and Deer Isle regions. Maine is a beautiful state and this beautiful home provided a perfect opportunity to make lots of wonderful memories.

Great location, needs some TLC

Beautiful setting, home, property and location. Fabulous communication with owner. Well stocked with bedding, linens, dishes, games for a large family. Kayaks were a super bonus. Would not recommend the lower level for sleeping.

Thanks for your kind feedback and your great communication as well. We did notice that the dehumidifier setting on the mega unit was turned to the opposite setting of 80% humidity instead of the 20% humidity setting where is was supposed to be. It’s important to keep settings at the recommended level to provide comfort for all. With 4 dehumidifiers that work efficiently it can still be hot & humid sometimes, and this summer was one of those exceptions. Unfortunately, we cannot control the weather and it certainly has been crazy all over the world. We’re sorry the guests were not comfortable on the first floor since it’s usually the coolest. The guests prior have rebooked for next year so we’re glad to hear it was a one time issue.

Spent the week celebrating a 70th birthday with our family. This home was perfect! We had ping pong competitions, worked puzzles at night, collected shells, went out in the kayak and canoe, saw an eagle and other wildlife, went to Acadia a couple of times, Bar Harbor and Kennebunkport, played golf, saw several lighthouses and ate a lot of good food. Great vacation! And would definitely stay here again!

Better than expected

I was a little anxious due to the somewhat dated or lower quality photos in the listing. I was more than pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The house and property are even nicer than the pictures show. The setting is very peaceful. We enjoyed watching the seals from the shore and even kayaking with the seals. We enjoyed our stay.

Restful week

The location was excellent. We enjoyed the changing of the tides. The back yard was excellent with great view of the water. Privacy was great, even though the neighbor’s dog visited us a couple of times. The layout of the house was great. It would have been nice to have had A C a Couple of days but it always cooled down in the evening. We appreciated the use of the kayaks.

Perfect relaxing Maine family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The setting is absolutely stunning from the front lawn to the back porch and private oceanfront beach. We were a group of 4 adults and 5 children ages 2-13 and everyone enjoyed the property. We really enjoyed using the kayaks, eating dinner on the spacious deck, and playing soccer on the lawn. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out as well as a nice open kitchen with plenty of seating for everyone to eat meals inside or outside on the deck. We went to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park several days and were there in under an hour. Our favorite meal was at Perry's Lobster Shack only a few minutes from the house. Highly recommend for family fun!

2nd stay

This is our 2nd stay at this great home. We had 9 adults and an infant. This house is large with plenty of space for a big group. The property has great outdoor space , deck for dinners under the stars, front lawn for family games. Woke up each morning and had coffee on their oceanfront beach. Plenty of privacy. The host provided beach chairs, corn hole, kayaks, etc… we went to BarHarbor and Acadia National Park,. Consider dinner outdoors at Perry’s Lobster Shack. Host is very responsive. We had a great Maine vacation

The Great Outdoors

Spacious and comfortable. Beautiful scenery. We saw eagles, porpoises, and seals when kayaking. My grandson found a starfish in the tide pools and so many unique stones. House does need new carpets (very stained) and tubs and showers were not cleaned well. We had to clean thoroughly before using. The toilets and sinks, kitchen, and tile and hardwood floors were very clean. Very peaceful setting.

Thank you for your feedback and kind words Michele! Our carpets are professionally cleaned each year, but we can only spot clean as needed between our guests. We rely on families to care enough to clean up any stains that may occur during their stay. (Our next guests will be extra happy as we cleaned them a little early this year) We appreciate your feedback in regard to the showers and tubs & can guarantee their cleanliness each week. However, they are older & it is our home so it’s not brand new and sparkly like a hotel, which is definitely an adjustment when you rent a beautiful residential home. We’re so glad you enjoyed all the space, comfort and beautiful scenery at our home & property.

Great location to experience the beauty of Maine from the backyard water access to the closeness of Acadia NP. Our collective family of 12 enjoyed the spacious rooms and areas to gather, making this the perfect location for our weeklong stay. Communication with owner was easy and always timely. We are grateful for being able to stay at this beautiful location!

Great location for the popular activities associated with Blue Hill, Mount Desert and Deer Islands. Spacious living and bed rooms with a well-equipped kitchen. Wi-Fi reception is not strong enough to reach some portions of the house. My family spent many enjoyable hours combing the beach and kayaking the shores of the inlet. Great for large family get-together. Host was easy to contact and responsive to any issues and questions that we had.

All around great!

The house and property are waaaay better than the listing shows. House is huge and well stocked. It feels like a friends’ home rather than a rental. And the view is gorgeous! Make sure to take the kayaks out to see the seals up close. We used this as a home base for Acadia but could easily have spent the whole week on the property. All around a great trip.
