We spent three nights in Newport Beach at this charming and rustic beach cottage. It is conveniently located less than one block from the boardwalk near the 32nd lifeguard tower. It’s a very nice distance from the pier, with shopping and great dining options.The cottage is appointed with anything you might need, including towels, small appliances for the kitchen, and generous seating, with outdoor chairs, and tables. We thought that it was very nice that they had beach chairs, an umbrella, and a barbecue at their property, for our use. The owners are very accessible, friendly, and responsive to any questions. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Location

Loved the property! It was an easy walk to restaurants and Pavilions. We had very good luck with street parking, but it was nice knowing the garage was available if needed. The kitchen was well stocked with kitchen supplies. The owners were very communicative and easy to get in touch with. We hope to stay again soon!

Perfect Location & Great Value

After we booked this property, Kristin contacted us directly to give us all the info we needed. We scheduled our arrival and were allowed to come a little early which was nice. The Location Is Great. A short walk to everything. House was clean, and we will definitely come back in the future.

Great place to stay

We stayed in this home for 2 glorious weeks. Furnished very nice and cozy. We enjoyed the front porch every day. Amazing location, so convenient to everything - we parked our car and rode bikes the whole trip. We are ready to book again next summer. The owners checked in with us to see if we needed anything - they are super nice. Definitely two thumbs up!!

Great clean cottage close to the beach!

Loved this cottage! It was exactly as described, close to the beach and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We rented bikes at Newport Pier, about 4 blocks from the house. They do have a small garage but we parked on the street. My husband and I stayed with our 2 teenage kids.

Trent and Kristin’s place was absolutely perfect. The place was nice , clean and steps to the beach

Couldn’t ask for more, from the place or the host. It is a beautiful “beach town cottage”. Clean place and neighbourhood. You can see the the beach and boardwalk from the patio. we surfed and napped and surfed and napped. Lol. Walking distance to grocery store , restaurants, bars, shops etc. This place rocks. Comfortable furniture, big TVs, wifi, and well stocked kitchen supplies. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying themselves here As for parking we have a larger suv and we parked on the street right out front. Quiet safe no issues.

Great location! Wonderful host! Dog friendly!

We are a couple in our 60s traveling with our Labrador. This house was a perfect fit for us in a great location 1/2 block to the beach and a short walk to several excellent restaurants and bars. The living area is very comfortable and inviting with a large, new TV and cable. Red Box is just gown the street at 7-11 for movies. The king bed is very comfortable. Didn’t use the bunks but would be perfect for kids. Although we didn’t cook, the kitchen is well stocked including oils and spices. This is a place we will return to as we love to come to S CA when Montana gets cold. Owner is great to work with and communication was fast and easy. Highly recommend.

Pros: Location, location location.... about a 1/2 block to the beach. easy walking distance to the grocery store and to the pier (restaurants and shops) cute, updated décor easy drive from John Wayne airport easy drive to Disneyland Cons: laundry is across the street from the unit at a laundry mat rent a small car, we had a full size car and it was tight No a/c, unit needs more fans triple bunk bed was tight for my kids This unit would be an A+ rental if the owners provided more towels, wash clothes, beach towels, bath soap, maybe a few beach chairs... we travelled from out of town, so we weren't going to pack this stuff and bring it on the airplane

Great location, workable but not ideal accommodations.

If it had been cleaned well--including sweeping the dust and sand and grime and grossness from pretty much every corner of the place, I'd bump the overall rating up from 2 stars to three 3 stars compared to the 10-15 other beach houses between 25th and 32nd street in which we've stayed over the past 40 years. The layout is just really awkward, with a single bathroom at the center of the house (with no windows or fans or ventilation). Master bedroom needs a smaller bed...just too narrow for the king. Light bulbs all need replacing to calming tones and dimmable switches, instead of surgical grade bright white. One socket was actually sparking when jostled so we had to unplug everything from that and move the TV at the owner's suggestion (no electrician ever showed up however). Garage is so so so small and narrow. I mean, it's a parking spot, but don't plan on getting bikes in and out if you have a car there. The access to the back alley/garage/garbages is very poor. You can access it through a narrow and spider-webby accessway or you can walk around the corner and access it from Balboa Blvd. Toaster is broken....stuck on bagel setting, so your toast will be bad. Kitchen doesn't have nearly enough dinnerware, other than cups...it has a ton of cups. Kitchen is also so narrow as to make it almost impossible to use. All that said: Pros are the location. Can't beat the location in terms of access to the beach, grocery store, some restaurants, etc. Internet worked good.

This is the perfect beach house vacation home. It’s steps away from the beach and steps away from the grocery store. The people around were nice and helpful. The host was very communicative and checked in with us through text with us multiple times.

Great Time

We really enjoyed our stay. Everything was perfect. Very nice n cozy cottage just a few steps to the sand n waved. Very clean well stocked. Kristen was very nice and quickly answered any questions.. will definitely plan another stay-cation using this cottage. Super easy check in and check out. No problems at all

Perfect for us

Small home steps from the beach, grocery store, shops, restaurants and bars. Didn’t have to drive from the moment we parked the car. Adequate kitchen for our needs, we cooked most meals there. All the normal pantry supplies, utensils, cookware. Direct communication via text with the owners who responded nearly immediately.

Great Location

The hosts were great and quick to respond. The location was fantastic, several houses down from the sand, close to shops and restaurants. I initially booked this property because I planned on bringing my dog. That plan got canceled and I’m glad. The house smelled of dog pee and the tub had throw up in it from someone previously staying there, that we had to clean. I notified the owner and they said they would speak to their cleaning people. The other issue I had, were there were spots in the floor where if you walked over them it felt as if you were going to fall threw. Especially near the main bedroom where the floor was loose and I stubbed my foot several times. The overall house was nice.

Great little getaway

My mom and I brought my three kids here for a quick little getaway. The cottage is in a great location; we could easily walk to the beach, grocery store, shops and restaurants. My suv was too big for the garage, but there was plenty of street parking around. The only thing I would suggest would be some extra blankets. We enjoyed the patio, but it gets chilly in the early morning and evening.

Perfect location!

This beach cottage was exactly what we were looking for during our visit to Newport Beach. Not on the beach boardwalk (not what we wanted) but only off the beach by a minute or two walk - perfect. Because parking can be a challenge the added bonus of having a garage was great. The cottage itself has to be one of the cutest properties in Newport Beach. We would absolutely choose this location if we are fortunate to get out to this area again. Loved it!
