Come stay in this inviting, immaculate, peaceful apartment located in cool green Asheville and let Mama Dee pamper you with pound cake and other goodies on your arrival!. Property is located in a convenient area close to Asheville, Hendersonville and Brevard, the land of water falls and Dupont State Forest. Enjoy the two separate bedrooms (queen beds) set up with plenty of closet space. Enjoy the scenic views of the pond and mountains from from your porch swing. Sit and relax on the patio and unwind from the day as the Koi fish have a snack down at the pond. Yes they are that big! Sit in the rocker in 'time out corner' and read your favorite book or have a 'snoozalmacdoozle'

Spend the day hiking and enjoying a cool brew at one of the many local craft breweries located in the area. Ride the La-zoom bus downtown for an experience you have never encountered!

The apartment, located on the lower level of the house-lead photo shows whole house, will sleep four with the two bedrooms but if more is needed Mama Dee will take care of you with a blowup mattress or other arrangements that will accommodate your needs.

Lovely accommodations in a beautiful location

We enjoyed our stay. This is such a quaint and lovely area and the view of the little lake is beautiful. The apartment was clean and furnished comfortably. We had everything we needed and Mama Dee was such a sweet host. Will definitely be staying here again if we are ever in the area in the future.

Beautiful and Relaxing

Beautiful, well maintained home. My friends and I enjoyed a girls weekend of hiking and enjoying downtown Asheville. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Super stay

We loved this property, the location and the owners! Mama Dee (and her family members) were so warm and welcoming, it's like coming to stay at your mom's house! The central location was ideal, and the huge property with a pond was so picturesque. It was quiet, private and cozy, and the kitchen was huge. Also a beautiful BBQ for us on the porch. The ideal spot to stay!

Lovely stay!

I spent three months here this winter and I was very comfortable. Momma Dee was very welcoming. I enjoyed the early morning bird serenade during coffee on the patio. There were so many birds attracted to the pond, including my new friend the blue heron. This is such a peaceful setting.

Great place to stay ready to go back

I can not say enough good things about Mama Dees VRBO. The location is just beautiful and close to so much, you feel like you’re in the country but actually you’re less than 10 minutes from Asheville airport and about 18 minutes from downtown Asheville. There is lots of room inside, bedrooms are good sizes, kitchen has lots to space and supplies, and WiFi is great too. I already miss the porch swing and watching for bunnies, or deer. Miss Dees place is very clean and communication was terrific. We will be back for sure.

Great Property!

My husband, sister and I stayed at Mama Dees for 3 nights on a quick impromptu trip to Asheville. It was just as the pictures and other reviews described. Very clean and spacious. Lovely grounds. Quiet and peaceful. We felt right at home. The pound cake was great and a nice touch. Whenever we needed anything, all we had to do is pick up the phone. I would definitely recommend it and plant to stay there again.

Nicest Host Ever!

Mama Dee, Kirk and Sasha were the most wonderful hosts! Kirk was very quick to respond to anything we needed and Mama Dee is genuinely one of the kindest people we have ever met. She gave us everything from delicious cake to offering to let us come upstairs if the power went out during the snowstorm to offering to check on my mother-in-law after we had left. The house was quiet, convenient and the perfect place to stay for our needs. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Asheville area and will stay again on future visits. We loved it and our hosts!

Excellent home for our 2 Month Visit

It is really difficult to sum up our experience at Mama Dee's. We made some true friends during this trip and can't wait to visit again soon. Mama Dee really makes you feel like family. This home was perfect for our family (2 adults, 2 children - 6 and 8 year boys). We stayed at Mama Dee's Hide Away for October and November so we could take out time and explore Western North Carolina. Dee and everyone we met in the neighborhood were extremely welcoming. The home was a perfect size. We cooked regularly and found the kitchen to be great. Though we did bring our favorite chef's knife and our electric kettle with us, there is no doubt that Dee will provide you with anything you may be without. She is the sweetest, most helpful host you could hope for. Russ will help you with anything else you may need. He's happy to lend a tool. I loved the conversations I had with Dee and Russ. Kirk, who manages the reservations, was available shortly after booking for a phone call to get any of our questions answered, and helped out with questions the others could answer :) I worked remotely from the front bedroom. My children had remote school from the dining area. The wireless internet worked great and allowed us all to be productive, each on our own video conferences throughout the day. We are avid mountain bikers and the location really can't be beat. We safely stored our bikes on the spacious back porch. We were 15 minutes from Bent Creek Experimental Forest and North Mills River Recreation Area. A 20 minute drive got us to the main entrance of Pisgah National Forest. DuPont State Forest was just 30 minutes away. The Riveter was just around the corner, only 5 minutes away. There are even more trail systems around Asheville, but these kept us busy for the 2 months we visited. Mountain biker or not, there is so much beauty to be explored in these forests, with waterfalls around every corner. Mama Dee's Hide Away is a perfect home base for all your exploration in WNC.

We loved our stay at this lovely peaceful home. Enjoyed the charm of the large porch with the swing, beautiful pond & landscaping! Mama Dee's is such an amazing place to escape to and the location couldn't be any better. Very clean & comfortable. Upon arrival you are greeted with a homemade coffee cake & bottle of wine with a handwritten note from Mama Dee! Extremely accommodating for any of your needs. If your looking for a quiet, comfortable, clean, nicely decorated place to stay with a amazing host look no further. We are so happy we found Mama Dee's!

Beautiful location

We loved our stay at Mama Dee's place! It was just as described on the listing. Clean, fully stocked and super quiet. I'm a travel nurse who works nightshift and the room without windows was fantastic for sleep! Mama Dee is such a sweet lady, we enjoyed meeting her and will definitely come back again!

Outstanding in every respect

The property is simply idyllic. The apartment has a long covered porch with a swing on one end. You can sit and drink coffee and look at the beautiful pond with an island in the center, trees all around it and a white playhouse beside it. The inside is charming, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. We cooked many meals during the week we stayed. There are markets and restaurants close by in Arden even though the house seems remote and it is extremely quiet. The wireless internet and the TV worked very well. Mama Dee is a charming lady and was a real blessing to us. When we arrived she had a breakfast loaf and coffee available. She also had a decoration and two cards for our anniversary and my husband's birthday and a bottle of wine from the Biltmore Estate. We had several conversations with her and each one made us feel like we had been friends for a long time. From there we could easily get into Asheville. It rained a lot the week we were there but that didn't matter because we actually felt like we could just stay and look at the pond forever. But we did get out and see a lot. The North Carolina Arboretum is very close and the Biltmore isn't far. You can easily access the Blue Ridge Parkway. We had a hard time leaving when our week was up. We had a long conversation with Mama Dee as we were leaving and she gave us snacks and water for the road and a lovely note. This place stands out as a place of peace and beauty.

Comfortable spot north of Pisgah National Forest

This was my second time staying at Mama Dee's. She's an excellent host and takes very good care of her visitors. The location is a great neighborhood and a perfect balance between Asheville and Pisgah National Forest. Highly recommended and will stay again when visiting the area.

Great location for Biltmore Visit

I stayed at this property in November 2019 for a trip to see the Biltmore at Christmas. My mother, sister, and 7-month old daughter travelled with me. The property was a perfect fit for our needs. We had access to the living room/dining/kitchen area which helped with a baby that needed to crawl everywhere after a day of being held on tours all day. The bedrooms were perfect for our needs as well. We were a little bit confused when we first arrived to figure out which driveway to go down, but once we figured that out, the rest of the stay was a breeze. We took this trip to celebrate a milestone birthday for my mom, and were even greeted by a bottle of wine and a homemade chocolate chip cookie cake with "Happy Birthday Mom" written on it in pink icing waiting for us in the kitchen. That was such a thoughtful touch to an overall enjoyable weekend!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

From the moment we walked in and were welcomed with a bottle of wine, a fabulous blueberry pound cake and snacks throughout the week of our stay, we found it very clean, relaxing, and peaceful especially while sitting on the porch looking out on the pond. Mama Dee is a very sweet lady and we enjoyed meeting her and knew we could call on her for anything we needed. I highly recommend her place.

Great place to stay! Great location!

Mama Dee's place was so quiet and peaceful. The pond and land around it made for a wonderful view. If you're hesitant about it being a terrace level unit, don't be it's extremely quiet. Mama Dee had a bottle of wine and a wonderful coffee cake awaiting our arrival. The location is great and an easy drive to everywhere you want to go. We will definitely stay here again.

Excellent.

The apartment was extremely clean and very roomy. We had everything we needed and were even greeted with fresh muffins and fruit. We got in late the first night, so t was nice to have breakfast already provided. It was very peaceful on the property and convenient to so many places. Would definitely choose Mama Dee’s again! :)

Outstanding place with amazing view!

This was our second stay at Mama Dee's Hideway and there will be many more! Very clean, cozy, & comfortable. Great view of the pond, pastures and mountains from the porch swing. Close to Downtown and all the Asheville attractions.

Better than adverstised!

My wife, daughter, and I really enjoyed this place. The pictures on the website couldn't capture fully how beautiful it is. The accommodations were clean, cozy, and quiet, and feels very much like we were away from it all. It's also very close to restaurants and shops. The fishing pond, miniature house, and fields with trees were great to look at while swinging on the swing. We hope to come back.
