The Cottage sleeps 4 (2 adults, 2 kids).
Offers a full kitchen; oven, dishwasher, fridge and utensils, with a breakfast bar. A comfortable Living room offers seating & leads out to the relaxing patio area.

The outdoor patio offers Casual Seating around a fire pit and a separate Dining Table, Barbecue grill, Sun beds and plenty of room for relaxing.

Spacious Bathroom with walk-in shower.
It has Air Conditioning/Heat.
The main bedroom offers a Queen-size bed and wardrobe.
A separate niche bedroom has Bunk beds for 2 kids.
Detached laundry room; complete with washer, dryer, iron & board.
Also provides: Beach chairs & umbrella, beach towels.
Outdoor shower to rinse off golden sand.

STOP!!!! don't look anywhere else unless you're not looking for the perfect location, perfect place and amazing hosts. 2 blocks from everything and all the great vibes of Carlsbad. Julie and Ian accommodated our every request with a smile. We even got to spend some time with them and chatted like old friends. Can't wait to get back as this will be our go to in Carlsbad.

Peaceful Coastal Getaway Right by the Beach

The host was helpful and available which made our stay even better. The cottage was well kept and perfect for a short stay. All the supplies you could need were available. The patio and decor was very relaxing and made our trip to Carlsbad better!

It's a small indoor space but still functional. Doesn't matter though because the outdoor patio and location to the beach is why you rent a place like this.

Perfect spot in the Village

We really enjoyed our time at the Cottage! The location was tremendous and our family enjoyed walking to the beach and all the great spots to eat. The outdoor space was a great amenity. Hosts were great people and easy to work with. We hope to visit the Cottage again on our next trip to Carlsbad.

Cozy Cottage

Julie's response time to emails was awesome. The cottage was perfect and the outdoors space was equally great. I would highly recommend the cottage and we plan on staying there on our next trip to California. The cottage has everything you need. And as advertised, it is only two blocks to the beach. Items for the beach are available. Parking is right in front of the cottage. We enjoyed our stay. Thank you Julie!

Another Magical Week

We stay here yearly and love our stay everytime! This is our home away from home. It is just perfect! The cottage is perfect for our family of four. It is so wonderful to show up and they have all the beach stuff we might need already there. The outdoor shower makes it so easy after a day at the beach and the water pressure in the bathroom is so great! The covered patio is my favorite part. We spent so much time just enjoying our evenings together playing games by the fire. The hosts are so very nice and responsive. We will be back again soon!

Weekend birthday trip!

The cozy cottage was great! The location is perfect and it has all the amenities you need. Julie the host is friendly and wonderful. The property is tucked in behind their main residence, in a safe and lovely neighborhood where you can walk to many shops, restaurants and bars. The beach is just a few minutes away as well! As others have mentioned, the outside seating area is great! We sat outside with a cocktail and a fire on a cold night for a nightcap. This residence is small, so I think it is perfect for couples or a couple with one small child. It can accommodate 2 kids though! You canā€™t go wrong with the Cozy Cottage!

Awesome beach cottage

The cottage was great. Owners were extremely nice and helpful. We had a great time. It's a block from the beach and Carlsbad village so we rarely used the car. It was so nice to walk everywhere. Restaurants, sandwich shops and coffee houses 3 blocks away. Looking forward to my next stay at the cottage.

Sweet little cottage

Despite terrible timing for a vacation and a week's worth of rain, we truly enjoyed this little cottage in Carlsbad. The place was cozy, just a short walk from a beautiful beach and had a wonderful outdoor space that we used as much as the rain would allow. It had everything we could have wanted and was easy to find but very quiet and private. Julie and Ian were great hosts, kind and very responsive. We would definitely recommend. Thanks Julie and Ian!

Convenient

Ms. Julie made our check in easy and very convenient. Was surprised that there were things I didn't need to bring with me such as beach towels and sand toys. My boys and I had fun the location was perfect. We walked everywhere for anything we needed. Very relaxing atmosphere.

I travel to Carlsbad often.This was my first time staying at Julie and Ian's cottage.I absolutely loved it! The location is perfect,the cottage is immaculate,Everything that you need is right there,even a laundry room,beach chairs,umbrella,and a wonderful gas fire pit! Julie and Ian are amazing hosts, making certain that every detail is perfect. I could go on and on,however I hope that I have not said too much or my cottage maybe rented out when I need it!!

Great rental 2 blocks from Beach

Loved staying here for 6 days. So glad to have air conditioning, the lovely patio for family gatherings, and comfortable. Ian and Julie were so accommodating and kind. Helped me unload on arrival and when I checked out. Would suggest they get more comfortable mattresses for bunk beds. Friend spent the night and said bed pillow were uncomfortable. The queen bed was fabulous. there is also pull out sofa bed in living room. Highly recommend this rental. Planning to visit again in the off season. Loved proximity to beach and Carlsbad Village. Cozy cottage with a great outdoor space and location!

This rental has an awesome outdoor area with a table to eat, fire pit, shower and more! The inside has what you need for sleeping, getting ready and cooking. It is a smaller space inside, but with the great weather in Carlsbad you would rather have a larger outside space to enjoy! They had beach chairs, towels, boogie boards and toys to use, all nicely stored in the laundry area. You cannot beat the location, it is only a few minute walk to the beach where there is a ramp access point and then a few minute walk to downtown. There were some great eating areas just a few blocks away! The owners were very friendly, checking in by text to make sure we didn't need anything and were enjoying our stay. They also made sure I had the information needed for the gates on check in day and put out cones to reserve the street parking spot right in front of the house. Check out was simple and easy, with just putting linens in the laundry room and starting the dishwasher. Overall it was a great place for our stay, I would reserve this rental again and recommend it to family and friends!

Relaxed vacation in a beautiful property very close to beach

We stayed, for the second time at Julie's Cozy Cottage in Carlsbad. Again, we had a lovely time. The cottage is well appointed, has a very comfortable bed and a very nice, modern bathroom and kitchen. Everything you need is there. If not, just ask Julie and she is very accommodating in providing anything that might be missing. (I needed a collander - pasta drainer and she got it for us before we even arrived.) Julie and family are very friendly and caring. The cottage is located behind the family's main house, but could not be more private. There are 2 sets of table and chairs outside to relax in or eat your dinner at. It is very quiet back there, and all fenced in for privacy. Carlsbad itself has many great restaurants, we especially loved Las Olas, Coyote and the "Daily News" for breakfast. On Wednesdays there is a Farmers market with many goodies for sale and taste. One day we took the "Coaster" commuter train into San Diego and had a lovely day sightseeing there. We stayed for 11 days and enjoyed every one of them. Just loved The Cozy Cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Julie's Cozy Cottage. When we arrived, Julie was right there waiting for us. She showed us around and we liked what we saw. I was pleasantly surprised by all the supplies that were there for our use, such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, coffee, tea salt, pepper, oil and vinegar, etc. etc. Julie was so nice and easy going and even took us shopping the first day (and offered a second time, but we did not need her help at that time). The cottage had a nice casual beach like decor. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor patio areas and often had our lunch outside. The cottage was very close to nice restaurants, shopping, the weekly Farmers Market and the Coaster Train station. This provided convenient transportation into San Diego for us, as we did not have a car. It was a very short walk to the most beautiful beach you can think of. You can walk for miles along the beach and it never gets boring. Sometimes we took the beach chairs and towels provided to the beach for a little sun bathing. We definitely will return some day. It lives up to its expectations

There is definitely truth in advertising when it comes to this house. It is 2 blocks from beach access and within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Plus, Julie is really nice and provided us with orange juice and pastries for breakfast since we were coming in late. It has a small interior, and a really nice outdoor living area (which is why I chose it). Unfortunately, the weather didnā€™t cooperate, and we didnā€™t really get to use the outdoor area. I am still bummed by that, as I was looking forward to eating breakfast outside. There is a great set up to do that; it was just too wet for most of our visit. Overall, it is a great place to stay, especially in nice weather. It would benefit from having some more games to choose from when the weather is bad, and maybe a tarp over the fire pit so that it could still be used when it is rainy. We did get to use it one night, and we really enjoyed it. I wish we couldā€™ve enjoyed more time around it. I totally recommend staying here, especially if you are looking to spend time on the beach. When the weather cooperates - which is most of the time - its location and set up is perfect.

Fabulously Cozy Cottage!

My husband and I brought our almost-3 year old with us on a Carlsbad getaway weekend, and the Cozy Cottage was the perfect hideaway for the three of us! The property is cozy but very comfortable and Julie has kitted it out with everything that one might need. The location cannot be beat - it's a five minute walk to the beach! There's a wonderful outdoor shower on the property which is the PERFECT end to an afternoon at the beach - it's great to be able to wash all the sand off before heading inside (and toddlers bring a LOT of sand home with them!) The kitchen is small but very well-equipped, and the outdoor grill was perfect - we cooked out two of the four nights we stayed there and took advantage of the great backyard space. The outdoor area is well furnished with lounge chairs, a dining table, and another lovely seating area with an overhead umbrella for warm afternoons - it's a truly indoor/outdoor property which is great. We spent a lot of time on the patio, having breakfast and coffee in the morning and relaxing with a glass of wine before dinner in the evening. The downtown area with all of the restaurants and shops is just two blocks away, and the train station is a less than 10 minute walk away - we highly recommend taking the Coaster down to Old Town San Diego, our daughter loved it! Julie was such a helpful host and we felt so welcome there. We're looking forward to another visit!

Communication with host was exceptional and property was excellent for beach and downtown Carlsbad walk access.It was an amazing property set up for great family time. Not a ton of square footage but the layout is maximized to offset that, we had 4 of us(2 teens) and had plenty of room. Area and property had a great vibe.We will absolutely be back.

This property is small but fully equipped. We had everything we needed to enjoy a long weekend escaping from reality. The outdoor space is wonderful. Always some shade and plenty of comfortable furniture to relax on. Easy walking distance to the beach and Carlsbad Village.

Great cozy place to stay

Julie was great to communicate with and checking in and out was super easy. The house was clean and well stocked. Lots of beach towels, toys and even a wagon to take to the beach which was so helpful. Nice large patio to enjoy as well.

Great place for a beach vacation

The property had all that I needed. The owners even helped me with getting an extra tank of propane for a cookout. It was a great weekend.

We bought this property for the location to the beach and the village. There are two stand alone cottages on the property we live in the front one and rent out the rear unit, which has own private entrance.

Location, on weekends we walk along the beach front, walk out to dinner, browse shops. No need to drive anywhere.
