From the moment you come through the front door of our upstairs Crow's Nest CAUTION if you, or anyone in your party, smokes do not book this property .2 bedroom apartment which is part of Captain Alexandra‘s Hideaway. Captain Alexander's vacation rentals offers a totally smoke free environment if you or any of your guests smoke please do not book your vacation with the Captain. Our small resort consists of only 3 units. Besides this 2 bedroom we have a 3 bedroom, Crew’s Quarters, on the first floor and the Captains Quarters efficiency with its private courtyard. . Each unit at Captain Alexanders Hideaway, has its own private yard and assigned parking. At the Crow’s Nest you will find central airconditioning a living room with 2 sofa recliners which beckons you to relax but the kitchen comes equipped with an electric cook top and wall oven. In the private yard you will find a Weber gas grill and an outside shower with hot and cold water so when returning from the beach you can leave all the sand outside. There is also a patio with table and chairs. And when it is time to call it a night the back bedroom has a queen size bed and the front bedroom has 2 brand new singles as of Aug 2021. At Captain Alexanders you can pickup all your emails as we provide high speed wireless internet. My wife Ruth and I have been in the vacation rental business for over 30 years. So we know just what you would like on your vacation. And we deliver one of the cleanest well maintained homes on Cape Cod. Just remember this is a smoke free home there is no smoking on the property. If you smoke you will be asked to leave, no questions asked. We never give out our homes to any realtor you deal with the owners directly and we stand up infront of our homes. You can talk with Us as we know the Cape and as a young boy my family has been vacationing on Old Cape Cod since 1957 when Jodi's Pizza and the go-carts first opened, and the old camp ground was the in place to rent with all the teenagers, along with Thompson's Clam Bar.

Important information if you elect not to take VRBO‘s trip protection insurance we require a $500 refundable security deposit before your arrival. We will be in touch with you as to how to make that deposit. We are pet friendly, but we do require a $200 pet fee. Also pets cannot be more than 25 pounds in the crows nest.

Captain Alexanders Home is only 3 tenths of a mile to the warm waters of Nantucket Sound and the Harwich Beaches. Our two bedroom home is fully Air conditioned. If you did not elect to take VRBO trip protection we will need a refundable security deposit of $500.00

Do you like cooking on vacation? Probably not. At Captain Alexander’s you will find top quality cookware a good selection of stainless steel and non-stick frying pans. The captain enjoys cooking and his first mate is a mixture of French and Italian so you know she enjoy cooking. You will not be disappointed with the top quality utensils and flatware provided here a Captain Alexander’s. We ourselves when traveling have been very disappointed in the kitchens in the various rental properties that we have stayed in over the years so therefore we are very meticulous about what we provide.

Our Non Smoking air conditioned home has all the ingredients for a super vacation on Cape Cod. Captain Alexanders Hideaway is not for smokers as there is no smoking on the property.. For your security and safety, security cameras are used on the exterior of the property. A full laundry with front load washer. We are well within walking distance to Earle Street Beach and only one mile to Harwichport.


Conveniently located midway between Cape Cod Canal and Provincetown,Captain Alexander's is central to all the Cape has to offer. A short bike ride to Cape Cod Rail Trail (Bike Trail through the towns of Cape Cod), 2.5 miles to Long Pond (Cape Cod's largest swimming and boating lake), 1.5 miles to award winning Cranberry Valley Golf Course, central to shopping, major highway, theater,(Harwich JR. Theater 1 mile), art galleries, excellent restaurants, hiking, tennis and ocean beaches. Only minutes to the Nantucket Ferry (Harwich Port) and Martha's Vineyard Ferry (Hyannis) is nearby.

WHY SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED AT CAPTAIN ALEXANDER'S HIDEAWAY

1. Smoking is one of the main causes of preventable death worldwide.

2. Smoking around others does not show love. Those who are routinely subjected to secondhand smoke are at higher risk of some of the same diseases that smokers often suffer from.

3. The World Health Organization estimates that every year, about six million people die of diseases related to the use of tobacco, including over 600,000 nonsmokers affected by secondhand smoke. Consider how tobacco affects the health of those who use it and the health of others around them.

4. Cancer. Tobacco smoke contains over 50 carcinogenic chemicals. The Encyclopædia Britannica states that tobacco smoke is “believed to account for 90 percent of all cases of lung cancer.” Tobacco smoke can cause cancer in other organs, including the mouth, trachea, esophagus, throat, larynx, liver, pancreas, and bladder.
Respiratory diseases. Tobacco smoke increases the chances of respiratory ailments such as pneumonia and influenza. Children who regularly inhale secondhand smoke are more prone to suffer from asthma, chronic cough, and reduced lung growth and function.
Heart disease. Smokers are at greater risk of suffering a stroke or developing heart disease. Carbon monoxide present in tobacco smoke easily passes from the lungs to the bloodstream, where it displaces oxygen. With less oxygen available in the blood, the heart has to work harder to deliver oxygen to the body.
Effects on pregnancy. Women who smoke while pregnant increase the risk of their babies being born prematurely, with low birth weight, or with certain birth defects such as a cleft lip. Such babies could also develop respiratory problems or suffer sudden infant death syndrome.
