I’m so sorry the home did not meet your expectation. A hotel night in the area is between 220-500 a night for a bed and a microwave . We charge around 150 a night for a 2 floor home with a full kitchen and 2 full bathrooms that sleep 6. I have no control over the fees that VRBO charges you. I wish I did. I would encourage you to look through the pictures that fully depict what the home looks like to manage future expectations. Happy New Year!

I’m so sorry you didn’t see them. I did share with you if you needed anything to contact me/ There’s a giant size of 250 of them in the kitchen. I wish you would have said something. Our home is right next door and you saw us outside. A quick text like we did when you wanted an early check in and check out would have avoided your disappointment in your morning coffee ritual. Please don’t ever hesitate to ask hosts for things you need. Most of us want your stay to be a good one. We don’t want to lose ratings over trivial things that can easily be fixed. It affects our business. I’m sorry you weren’t completely satisfied. As you know we provide multiple ways of having coffee. Keurig, drip, press and instant. We are big coffee drinkers too.

Hi Faye. You booked a home without a TV. It’s clearly stated in the listing. I offered you to come over and use the one in the main house. The house is certainly not in a remote area as we are 1/2 mile down the road. Please read the listing prior to booking a place. so that all your expectations are met. You never communicated with me at all even when you booked. You showed up early unannounced and you never answered my messages to you. I’m so sorry it didn’t meet your expectations. You could have contacted me or reviewed the pictures before arrival.

One of the most frustrating things for me as a host is when someone has an issue that can be easily fixable. I am so sorry. We always want people leaving our home satisfied . I asked you to please share with me if there was anything you needed and you never shared these concerns with me. I was right next door. You should not have to worry about hot water in the shower. Only after your review I was made aware of the issue and I had the plumber come. It turns out the family staying before you lowered the thermostat on the water heater because they had little children. They never told me they weee doing it and they never turned it back. It took less than 10 seconds to remedy. As far as the WiFi, you are correct. We had an issue as well and chalked it up to you all being on devices. After reading the review I had Xfinity come out and we had some water in the line from that big storm. They replaced it and we are back at top speed. Our last guest worked the whole week from the home without any episodes. Please speak up to the host next time. We want you to be comfortable and happy. Communicating this to me could have been resolved all in a day. I feel terrible I am finding out about your issues after you have long gone. I apologize.

Interesting take. What really happened was Michael booked for 4 people and paid for 4 people but cars kept coming up and there were 8 which was over the guest limit. Since the contract was broken I could have asked you to leave but was gracious enough to allow you and all the extra guests stay. If you read the listing if clearly states 4 adults and that I live on the property. People book in haste and they don’t thoroughly read the listing. The pictures alone depict the distance from my home to the guest house. Just because you don’t smoke doesn’t mean the others won’t and since we had someone with allergies arriving I wanted to remind you to remind your extra guests that there was no smoking. You violated the rules and didn’t read the listing. To add insult to injury you are lying that you were “confused “ on what to do with the towels. I sent you 2 emails before check in and during what the checkout instructions are. We don’t ask our guests to clean. We asked you to leave any used towels by the washer and that there was no need to make beds or remove linens. So disappointing that you would lie and say otherwise because you didn’t follow the rules.

Sigh. I don’t even know how to address this. I have text messages that prove otherwise. This is a retaliatory review since Brenda lost a case against us through Vrbo. The listing clearly states there is no TV. There are pictures on the listing that shows the view. The deck did not have flowers because it snowed and the flowers wilted. We don’t place flowers in the cold weather cause they don’t survive in the snow. Brenda asked to stay an extra day while she was with us but we were booked and couldn’t accommodate her. Her text messages clearly indicated she was enjoying the home. Upon checkout Brenda and her guest decided they didn’t have to leave at the checkout time. The cleaner was absolutely there at my home waiting. When I asked her to please checkout she said she was trying. No regard to the rules or that we were paying for the time the cleaners were waiting. Brenda then proceeded to say the coffee pot didn’t work. It did. Brenda decided that because the coffee pot wasn’t working that she didn’t have to pay for her weekend so she of her friend processed a charge back to their credit card. They didn’t pay. Vrbo reviewed the messages that were sent to us and they clearly saw that Brenda was enjoying her stay so they lost the case and I was finally paid. Brenda was very upset and she told me about her upcoming surgery so I told her she could come back one night for free. I don’t have bad reviews and want all my guests to leave with a good experience. It was a gesture because there were many unpleasant messages being sent back and forth. I decided to try and end it on a positive note. Big mistake!! Out of the blue, a strange man I’ve never seen before shows up on my property that’s posted with no trespassing signs and with a car already parked in front of the guest house decides to just walk right in. We could have had guests there at the moment. I’m so thankful we were in the middle of cleaning. I was completely blindsided by this man walking into our guest house on our private property. He didn’t introduce himself. It was pretty alarming. Brenda just assumed that without a phone call or an email or reservation that her partner would just show up and we would accommodate them. Writing a bad review because the porch didn’t have fall flowers in the freezing weather will give people an indication. If any hosts are reading this please proceed with caution. As for Brenda, I wish her well but she is not welcome here.
