EXCELLENT FOR WINTER AND SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Built recently Chalet Samburu is modern and comfortable over 3 floors. Entry level has sitting room, log fire, kitchen and dining area, bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Separate WC.

Downstairs has access to the large sunny terrace with TV room, 2 fully equipped kitchen, bedroom, shower room and laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

The top floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and double sofa bed.

Both kitchens have a dishwasher and large fridge freezers. The Chalet is very well provided with cooking equipment.

The garage takes most cars. Important if there is lots of snow! There is plenty of parking for 3/4 cars.

The large terrace faces south, with fantastic views and ideal for summer relaxation and BBQs.

The Chalet is superb in summer and winter, with easy access to the Grand Massif skiing area. In summer there is walking, tennis, swimming, rafting, zip wiring and riding, all within 5 minutes. The nearby beautiful historic town of Samoens has many shops,restaurants and bars. The Carrefour supermarket is less than 5 minutes away.
Geneva is 50 minutes drive and Calais 7-8 hours.


This beautiful area of Alpine France is easily accessible and in the winter offers 265k of ski runs throughout the Grand Massif, with the Porte du Soleil only 20 minutes away. The region is renowned for the beautiful historic town of Samoens, only 5 minutes drive from the Chalet. In spring and summer, the area is famous for it's alpine flowers, walking and cycling. For families the summer provides swimming in Lac Bleu, just 3 minutes away, tennis, zip wiring, riding, white water rafting and para ponting.
For the less energetic, Chalet Samburu has a large sunny terrace, where you can relax and enjoy the spectacular view with a glass of wine and the BBQ underway!
Nearby places of interest, for a day trip, include Chamonix, Lake Annecy and Evian on Lake Geneva.

The Chalet has 5 bedrooms all with 2 zip and link 3' beds. There is also a double sofa bed on the Mezzanine. The 2 kitchens make the storing of food in the 2 freezers and cooking for large numbers no problem. The downstairs is ideal for Grand Parents who may want some extra peace and quiet!

The tariffs include reasonable cleaning. Logs are provided for the wood burner. Special offers are available, so please ask! Payment can be made in Euros or £ Sterling.

Excellent Chalet

We have stayed for four weeks during the month of July 2025. Everything is as described on the internet site. The WiFi connection worked for real! The property is well designed, clean and well maintained. The living area is excellent to work and relax. There is a functional kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, dishes, cooking utensils, etc.). There is also a second kitchen. All appliances work. The house was well provided with towels and all kinds of conveniences. The location is excellent. The neighborhood is safe. We could park our car just in front of the entrance. Lovely grounds to walk around and conveniently located to explore the great Alps. The owners are wonderful people, and they made significant efforts to transform our vacation into a wonderful experience. We hope to come back again.

Excellent stay in Verchaix

As a family of 10 we had an excellent stay in Andrew's Chalet. The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The view is magnificent. The communication before, during and after our stay was perfect and attentive. A property we will definitely return to if we come back to Samoens on holiday.

Magnifique chalet

Nous avons passée une semaine au top dans ce magnifique chalet. Le nombre de chambre et de salle de bain sont très pratique quand on est nombreux. Rien à dire c’était propre. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !!!

Prachtig Chalet op toplocatie

We hebben genoten van een heerlijk verblijf in het mooie knusse chalet. Ideaal voor ons waren de 2 zithoeken boven en beneden. Goede keuken en mooie haard. Prima bedden en goed sanitair. Toplocatie, dichtbij de skilift en schitterend uitzicht. Wij hadden geen verse sneeuw, maar kan me voorstellen dat anders sneeuwkettingen bij het huis noodzakelijk zijn. Kleine minpuntjes waren de douches met zand en soms bijna geen (warm) water en toch ook het ontbreken van persoonlijk contact met de beheerder bij aankomst en vertrek. We hebben niemand gezien en moesten vragen stellen via SMS. Sleutel zat in een sleutelbox. Vooraf hadden we goed contact met de eigenaar. Na het verblijf hadden we wel wat issues met de eigenaar van het chalet over 2 extra gasten op de aanwezige slaapbank, de schoonmaak bij vertrek en het gebruik van hout voor de haard, maar dat hebben we met elkaar besproken en goed opgelost. Ik kan het chalet echt voor iedereen aanraden. Het skigebied van Le Grand Massif vonden we ook erg mooi.

Cosy and comfortable chalet in the gorgeous Samoens valley

We were 2 families and have spent the week of the New Year's eve at the chalet Samburu. The location is very nice with beautiful views and easy access to ski (we had a car). Samoens village nearby is quite picturesque. The chalet itself is very confortable, the fireplace was really nice to have in the evenings. Having multiple bathrooms is very handy when there are 2 families. Kitchen is well equipped (2 kitchens, in fact). Also the organisation of the chalet allows both to spend time together as well as to have some quiet time thanks to 2 well isolated floors. Perfect communication with the owner. I highly reccomend Samburu for your vacation.

Super chalet et bel endroit

Le chalet est très bien équipé (2 cuisines) et a accueilli facilement nos 2 familles (2 x 4 personnes). L'agencement est fait de tel manière que nous avons eu l'impression d'avoir 2 chalets dans 1 seul. Vraiment très bien. L'environnement est très calme et, en été, vous avez de nombreuses activités à 30 mins max. Notamment le cirque de Sixt fer à cheval. Chamonix est à 50 mins. Bref nous avons passé de très belles vacances. Je vous recommande cette location.

Cosy with amazing views!

We were a party of 9 friends who stayed in this lovely chalet from Feb 23rd 2019 for 7 nights. We found it very comfortable and cosy especially when we lit the log fire each evening. We self catered so the well equipped kitchen was much appreciated! The dining table and lounge was large enough for us all to eat and relax together. The lounge on the lower ground floor tended to be used by those wanting some 'me' time. The bedrooms were all of a good size and the singles amongst us appreciated that the beds were single, which surprisingly many other chalets do not provide. The views across the valley were wonderful and the two balcony's well positioned to enjoy the experience. The ski bus pick up point is only a 100m or so from the chalet but it is down a very steep hill and therefore up a very steep hill when we returned! We would recommend Skiset 1 for ski equipment hire as they gave excellent service and provided locker space for overnight storage, which made the bus journey easier. The frequency of the bus is every 40 minutes in peak time, less at mid day, and the journey to the ski area took about 30 minutes as the bus made many detours to pick up. The bigger problem was that the last bus back left at 5.30pm so there was no chance we could enjoy an evening meal out in Morillion. On balance we felt that a car would be an essential. Andrew made the booking process very straightforward and answered my pre-holiday questions very promptly.

FANTASTIC FAMILY CHALET

Chalet Samburu This is definitely one of the best ski chalets we have stayed in with our Family in almost 40 years of skiing. We are a large family and now take offspring partners on holiday with us plus the Family Dog of course. This year we were a group of 9 requiring 5 double bedrooms - no mean feat in France where most chalets use bunk beds. We also need a fair supply of bathrooms so that everyone can get out in the morning - this chalet has 4 bath/shower rooms plus an extra loo and not once during our stay did I hear the age old cry of "the water's gone cold" - the tank is ginormous and more than copes. The kitchen is remarkably well equipped and as we tend to self cater it was very pleasing to have adequate and decent quality pots/pans etc as well as copious crockery,cutlery and glassware. The fridge freezers meant that we (or more to the point I) didn't spend half my holiday popping to the shops however this isn't such a hardship with a brilliantly stocked Carrefour a few minutes away and halfway along the short drive to the lifts at Samoens. The other noteworthy assets in this chalet are the beds - no bits of foam on hard bases! These are quality mattresses and each room has the equivalent of a king size bed with 2 x 3 foot zip and link mattresses. The linen is also a pleasant surprise. All the little luxuries worked perfectly - washing machine, dishwasher and the woodburner became a favourite every evening. Last but far from least are the stunning views from this property - direct from all the living areas and top floor windows and balconies. Such a treat to sit on the terrace with a warm drink or aperitif. I would thoroughly recommend this chalet to any large groups - it just works perfectly on all levels and everyone in our party voted it a winner that we will definitely return to. Thanks Sarah G

Perfect Place

Chalet Samburu was the perfect place to host 2 families for the school holidays. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The number of bathrooms is brilliant when hosting multiple families or large groups. The kitchen is well equipped with all utensils. plates, glasses and pans needed to service a large group. There is a log fire in the upstairs lounge and the wonderful bonus of having the garden room on the lower floor with its own kitchen, bathroom and lounge. This was a fab place for the kids to escape in the evenings whilst the adults warmed limbs by the log fire in the quiet. Location is perfect for access for the ski areas. Short drive to lift access via Morillon Village or Sameons or short walk to pick up the ski bus. Overall the perfect base for a ski break.

Très belle semaine au Chalet Samburu

Nous étions 4 adultes et 4 ados et nous avons été très confortables et à l'aise dans ce beau chalet, très bien agencé. Le contact avec le propriétaire a été très facile et sympatique. Le chalet, situé à Verchaix, a une super belle vue sur le Massif. Nous n'avons pas utilisé le ski bus mais nous nous sommes déplacés en voiture jusqu'à Samoens, somme toute assez éloigné du chalet.

Wonderful Winter holiday

We stayed for one week at this charming and spacious chalet with 2 parents and 4 grown up kids with their partners. The chalet offers rooms for 5 couples, 2 living rooms and 2 kitchens and a wonderful terrace facing south. Although there was not so much snow, we skied from the (artificial snow) piste at Morillon and had a great time hiking from the Col de Joux Plane and in the wonderful valley of the Cirque de Fer a Cheval. The Wednesday market in Samoens was fun too.

Wow, What a Stay We Had

From the moment we drove up to the chalet we were so happy. Magnificent views from the terrace on balmy Autumn days eating and drinking lovely local food and wine in 20c sun. Lovely Autumn colours along walks both through the mountain side and along the river to Samoens which is a delight. Only slightly further afield is Sixt and more spectacular walks. For two people in their 60's not wanting to ski but just walk, soak up the ambience and relax it ticked ALL the boxes. Well equipped, comfortable and the best sleeping one could imagine. We would love to go back to the same location in the early summer. For 10 people what fantastic value.

We live in England, but have traveled a lot, particularly in Africa, hence the name Chalet Samburu, named after a Game reserve in Kenya. We have 3 sons, now all married. We have enjoyed many fantastic family holidays at the Chalet and are now looking forward to holidaying with Grand Children.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

A modern Chalet, very well equipped, with exceptionally comfortable beds. No bunk beds and old mattresses here!!
One of the best south facing views in the valley, with large terrace. The Rez de Jardin ( Garden Room ) has access to the large sunny terrace and the large sitting room/TV room is ideal if you want peace from the children!! Also if the Grand Parents want to escape, they can have their bedroom and kitchen on this level.
