Lovely spacious holiday cottage sleeping 6 with large pool & grounds enjoying panoramic views, on the Piotou Charente - Dordogne border in rural France, near the golf, tennis and wedding venues at Manoir de Longeveau & Manoir de Beaulieu in Salles Lavalette.
The village of Aubeterre -sur- Dronne with its wide choice of cafes, restaurants and shady river beach with canoes and paddleboards is short distance away.
Our sympathetically converted farmhouse
is close to a large supermarket, bakery, chemist and nice restaurant open lunchtimes and evenings.
An arbour adventure park with treetop zip wires, kayaking, large trampoline and archery is a short drive away. Cycling routes both for road and off road with bike hire delivered to your door.
There are extensive grounds and a good sized shared swimming pool over 13m long (you will find you often have this to yourselves, it is shared with our retired neighbours but rarely used during the school holidays) located in an elevated spot in the grounds looking across a picturesque valley.
Our spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home is equipped to a high standard and furnished to complement the wealth of character features. All the bathrooms and kitchen have been recently upgraded. Off the entrance hall is a cloakroom plus stairs to 3 bedrooms.The master bedroom has a king sized bed, en suite bathroom with bath/shower
There is a large family room with double bed, plus a single plus a twin room sharinh the use of a further bathroom with bath/shower. Downstairs is a cool bedroom which has a double bed and en-suite with bath/ shower.
There is WiFi ,TV/DVD with UK Satellite channels.
The well equipped kitchen (ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave) dining area opens onto the south facing private terrace with uninterrupted views. Having al fresco dining furniture, sun beds, reclining chairs and BBQ .

Simply stunning

The property and location are simply stunning out in the countryside but within easy reach of shops restaurants and bars in the evening we were treated to beautiful sunsets and at night a sky full of stars as there is virtually no light pollution at all there are 2 farms in quite close proximity that were harvesting during our stay but we never heard a sound even with windows open. We would all recommend taking small night lights or leaving a light on low around the house as once the shutters are closed no light gets in great for a lie in after a long day. The pool is a short walk up through the garden and is totally sheltered from view giving a nice peaceful atmosphere. Simply put I can’t praise this property enough it’s is ideal for families or friends to go away in the heart of France and just soak up the atmosphere and lifestyle

Spectacular location and superb accommodation

Our family of 5 and my parents have just enjoyed the most wonderful holiday at La Ferme. The views from the house were far reaching and spectacular. It was lovely to wander down the lanes doing a bit of wildlife spotting. We saw lots of birds of prey; black kites, sparrowhawks and buzzards were just a few, as well as beautiful butterflies, beetles and moths. We even spotted a beech marten clambering in the fig tree just outside the front door. The house itself was spacious, well-equipped, well-maintained and very clean on arrival. Its stays wonderfully cool, even on very hot days. And the pool,..wow, we were spoilt!! By far the best we've had at a holiday property, it was huge. And despite being out in the country you are really close to amenities; the supermarche is just 5 minutes away and there are lots of good restaurants close by. Finally, Caroline and William were delightful to deal with; thanks to them both for sharing their wonderful house with us.

endroit parfait belle maison

Nous avons passé une semaine paisible dans cette belle maison. Il est beaucoup mieux que sur les photos. Tout dans la maison est d'excellente qualité. Nous avons apprécié jouer au tennis au Tennis proximité et le parcours complexe Longeveau. Nous recommandons vivement La Ferme, Merci Caroline and William

Très bel endroit mais maison mitoyenne des 2 côtés

L'endroit, la vue sont superbes; L'intérieur très bien décoré et aménagé par contre une des photos semble montrer une maison indépendante alors qu'en fait le bâtiment est en multi-propriété. Les voisins de droite et de gauche sont très proches. Du coup on se sent moins chez soi.Je sais que la mitoyenneté est indiquée dans le descriptif mais franchement peu visible. Le terrain de tennis n'a rien à voir avec la location mais rien ne l'indique. La télévision ne permet de regarder que des chaines anglaises, ce serait bien de le préciser! Néanmoins, si les voisins ne vous dérangent pas, c'est un beau gite dans un très bel endroit. Merci à William et Caroline.

Nous sommes heureux que vous aimiez la maison. Nous avons travaillé pendant de nombreuses heures pour le rendre agréable. J'ai été surpris par les commentaires sur les photos et les voisins, vous étiez seul ! Je pensais que notre publicité en français était une copie de notre publicité en anglais. J'ai regardé, ce n'est pas la même . Voici une description de la maison est la description de la zone ou les images. (nous avons un site web avec beaucoup plus d'informations) Les maisons sont à l' extrémité d'une ruelle calme et offrent une vue panoramique . La Ferme dispose de 4 grandes chambres et 3 salles de bains avec baignoire et douche. La cuisine bien équipée et salle à manger s'ouvre sur la terrasse privée avec mobilier de salle à manger et chaises longues. Le grand salon dispose d'une télévision par satellite au Royaume-Uni , lecteur DVD avec collection de DVD international langue, CD et radio. Il ya des jeux extérieurs et intérieurs et les équipements pour bébés , y compris Lit , chaise haute, trotteur , baignoire bébé , matelas à langer , pot etc Il ya une grande piscine avec alarme et un vaste terrain . Il ya beaucoup à faire dans la région , tennis ( raquettes de tennis à la maison) ou au golf ( clubs de location ) au Longeveau complexe à proximité. Canoë-kayak sur la rivière Dronne . Lieux à visiter - Saint- Emilion , Cognac, Aubeterre , Perigeaux , Brantom , Bordeaux, Bergerac . Nos voisins charmants seulement utiliser leurs maisons pour leurs vacances afin que vous puissiez avoir la place pour vous. Notre grande terrasse et a des murs épais des deux côtés ce qui en fait privé

Stunning location & property - highly recommended

Absolutely stunning holiday property. We rented this house for 4 couples, two of which had babies. The location is breathtaking and surrounding countryside idealic. The house itself couldnt be more accomodating! It is beautifully decorated and caters for everyone, from baby equipment to adult drinking games. Couldnt fault the house at all :) one suggestion to make stay truelly perfect would be provide guests with the basics like tea and coffee when they arrive as you truelly are isolated if arriving late :) But other than that spot on. Will definately be returning

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at La Ferme and a big thank you to you and your party for leaving the house so beautifully clean. We look forward to welcoming you back here or to our family friendly apartment in Spain. We will make sure you have tea & coffee etc for your arrival. Although the house seems isolated there is a large supermarket and bakers plus pizza takeaway only 5 minutes away. We offer our guests an arrivals provisions service which can be anything from a few emergency items to a full fridge.

Wonderful property

I was looking for somewhere special to take my partner for her birthday and found this lovely house at a bargain price for the 2 of us for a week June/July. I had visited the Charente several years before and really loved it. I was very impressed with La Ferme, it is very well presented with lots of attention to detail. The stylish master bedroom was large and the king sized bed very comfortable. The location and views are stunning, we had the pool to ourselves on the days we used it. It was large and lovely and clean again with l great views over the countryside. The owner was very helpful booking dinner at a nearby Chateau for me, organising breakfast for our first morning and providing a long list of suggestions for our week plus a nice bottle of wine on our arrival. We would recommend the Chateau in Chalais for a meal and enjoyed a day canoeing on the nearby river. Aubeterre is nearby and very picturesque,with a range of nice places to eat, the Hotel du France was one we liked, we went to a concert in the monolithic church which was very atmospheric. We will certainly be returning and would like to thank Caroline & William for using thier lovely home and for helping make it a special week for us

wonderful holiday

My husband and I stayed at La Ferme last year and really loved the house and the area. We returned this year with friends for 2 weeks. They were as charmed by the house and surrounding countryside as we were. The house is in a wonderful location overlooking lovely views and is surrounded by fields and woodland. The pool is large and very clean. the house is spacious with very good sized bedooms. Our bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. La Ferme has been beautifully decorated and there was everything we could possibly need. It is the nicest rental properrty we have stayed in. We would thoroughly recommend the house and hope to return in the future

La Ferme

We had the most fantastic trip. The house is certainly in the most idyllic spot with those stunning views and that rural feel. I can't believe how fast the weeks flew by! You really have done a lovely job with the house and we couldn't have been happier there, the refurbishment is so elegant and the house was so well equipped it meant we felt very at home.
