***This cabin is located just a short 5 minute and convenient drive from Elk Springs Resort.
Luxury awaits in this 2 bedroom 2 bath cabin that features dual master suites. Each master suite is equipped with Cable TV, DVD player and ceiling fan as well as upgrades furniture and bedding. A queen sized sleeper sofa in the great room can accommodate 2 additional guests.

Escape to the lofted game room includes a pool table and pub table with chairs as well as a TV with cable.

Relax in the great room with high vaulted ceilings, fireplace, cable TV, DVD player and a wall of glass to view the outdoors.

The full kitchen with plenty of counter space and dining table with seating for 6 includes cooking utensils, coffee maker, toaster, mixer, cutlery and plenty of storage. Place settings for 8 provided.

Life's A Bear is conveniently located in the Arts & Crafts Community just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, Dollywood and all the entertainment and conveniences offered in the area.

Free WIFI, a washer / dryer, iron and ironing board, and paved parking are included for your convenience. All linens and towels are provided as well as a starter supply of paper towels, toilet paper, soaps and detergents.

Host requires the guest to sign a rental management agreement prior to allowing access to the unit. The agreement details our cancellation policy, terms and conditions. Must be 21 or older to reserve a cabin and person booking must be staying in the cabin.

We provide a starter supply of paper products, detergents and soaps and coffee filters. We do not supply shampoo, conditioner, body wash and there are no pantry items, spices, salt & pepper or coffee included - guests should bring these items.

This cabin is professionally managed by Elk Springs Resort Cabin Rentals in Gatlinburg, TN. We provide concierge service as well as dispatched maintenance and housekeeping should you need assistance during your stay. There is not much of a view of the mountain at the cabin, but we had a great time!

Summer 2025

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall, we had a fantastic time at the cabin. The location was up on the mountain, fully paved roads to it. There was a partial view of the mountains, a couple of cabins in the vicinity but secluded enough for privacy. We appreciated the pool table and the hot tub with other regular amenities. We wished they had stocked at least salt and pepper like all other cabins did in which we had stayed before. The cleaners missed cleaning the pull-out couch, the bedsheet on it was absolutely filthy with blood stains, we were disappointed we couldn't use the sofa bed. The cabin is about 10 minutes from downtown Gaitlinsburg and 20 minutes from the visitor entrance to the Smoky mountains.

This cabin was beautiful fresh clean anything you needed was there except salt and pepper sorry but we didn’t think to buy that at the store and we were disappointed when we cooked that there was no salt and pepper lol but my only other disappointment was, I didn’t see any bears. Fantastic Cozy Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful few days of rest and relaxation at Life's A Bear Cabin. This cabin is perfect for two couples, as both bedrooms are King suites. There's a cozy sitting area, with TV and electric fireplace, along with a pool table upstairs and an outdoor Hot Tub on the deck. Since a snow storm hit while we were there, we used the kitchen a good bit for meals, and the City of Gatlinburg did an awesome job of clearing the roads. The location is near the Arts and Crafts Community off of Glades Rd. It is very quiet and peaceful, and during the drive up the mountain, there is a spectacular view of Mt. LeConte. I highly recommend this property!

Convenient Location

Living room furniture was a little worn down and not comfortable. Hot tub was nice but difficult to take the cover on and off. Pictures are slightly deceiving, there was NO view of mountains from the cabin. Staff was very quick in replying to email and very helpful and kind! Overall a great experience!

Good location, poor communication

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Cabin was clean and as advertised. No extras like salt and pepper or foil to use for cooking. Did have adequate pots and pans. Location was close to Gatlinburg. No mountain views from cabin but they are a short walk away. Biggest issue was our check in kept getting moved back because the cabin wasn’t clean. We drove 10 hours and couldn’t check in until 4 hours past the time. It was a pain with food in a cooler and not being able to go to the grocery store as planned until late at night. When I called at the time of our arrival they kept saying it should be soon but then kept getting pushed back. Furniture in living room very uncomfortable as it is quite old with little to no cushion left in the seats.

There was dust on the window treatments and the refrigerator does not fit under the cupboards so it sticks out into the room. Cupboards need to be cut to make it fit. The grill needs to be cleaned.

Great cabin minus mattress and lack of basics

Reviewer Comments: The cabin was as described except the king mattress is incredibly broken and extremely noisy (your partner will wake you when they roll over). The dishes were dirty and the lack of hardly any basics such as dish detergent, toilet paper, trash bags, coffee filters, etc are why. We flew to TN from out of state and was shocked there was no hair dryer anywhere. I found it insulting that they expected me to pack that for the airplane when places like a Motel 6 provide something so simple as that. We did have one situation where we returned to the cabin and a worker was about to paint the railings but after we explained we were staying there he quickly left and said they told him it was vacant. Overall the cabin was nice except the outrageous mattress, but I don't know if I would stay with Elk Springs again because of the lack of basics. You pay the same each night, but you only get enough supplies for one and you need to remember to pack a hair dryer (and a mattress).

Fantastic Vacation Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We rented this Cabin for a week vacation for our family, It was very clean, and very welcoming. The first night we even had a Mother Bear and some cubs show up that we got to view up close. Minimal contact with staff as most everything was handled through Email/Text. But the staff I did talk to were all very friendly and professional. My family will be repeat customers in the future with Elk Springs, and I would recommend them to anyone looking to book a Cabin in Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas. It is located just a few minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, and a Food City Grocery store is even closer.

disappointing

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The pictures on the website must have been taken when the cabin was new as there are no longer any mountain views due to trees blocking the views, which we understand but you should change your pictures as that was one of the reasons we rented this cabin. The pictures of the inside of the cabin don't represent what the cabin looks like today either. It's very dated and not the cleanest place we've ever stayed. The one chair was filthy dirty and no one would dare sit in it. We had contacted the office a week before explaining that we would be coming from Wears Valley as we had stayed there for a family reunion and checked out that morning and could we check in to your cabin earlier. They assured us that wouldn't be a problem. However, on the day of check in we got a text saying we couldn't check in until 4:30. We do want to mention that the grill was out of propane and they sent a maintenance guy right away and he was great.
