Lakeside Wooded Retreat on Kingston Lake

Summer, Spring, Fall or Winter, there is always something fun to do here at Kingston Lake and why not do it at our peaceful, private open concept studio suite with a view of the lake from the bed. Come and bring your boat or use our canoe or kayaks. Fishing is dynamite (summer and winter). In season, we can give you a Sunset Cruise on our electric, covered boat when we are available. Relax by the cozy fireplace at the end of your day either swimming, boating, floating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, leaf peeping, fishing, kayaking, canoeing or snowmobiling. You can also just sit, relax and enjoy nature on your private, lakeside porch or by the fire pit.

Your suite has everything one would need, full kitchen, a beautiful bed, plus pull-out queen sleeper, an additional folded bed with Italian mattress, dining room, office area, fireplace, TV with cable, free wifi, full size closets, laundry, private patio.

Picturesque and nearby shopping includes Newburyport, Portsmouth, Exeter, the outlets at Kittery, and Boston. Other activities are nearby vineyards, hiking trails, apple picking, leaf peeping, the beautiful Atlantic Ocean, enchanting New England towns and endless activities both recreational and educational.

Dan and Nancy are excellent hosts. They're very proud of their beautiful property. They'll do everything they can to make sure you're comfortable, and they are very knowledgeable of the area.. Being on the lake in this clean studio apartment is super relaxing. There is plenty to do on the lake, as well as shopping, hiking, and even a casino nearby.

Perfect place to stay

Our family enjoyed our 4 day stay at the property. It was very cozy, well equipped and clean, perfect for our family of 4. Our kids (ages 6 and 9) loved kayaking and fishing on the lake. Nancy was responsive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Lakeside retreat

It was a comfy, homey, very well appointed space. The lake location was lovely and our hosts very accommodating. They took us on a fun sunset cruise around the lake and filled us in on local history and useful information. We highly recommend it.

Such a cozy and comfortable apartment! We were treated to a sunset cruise on the lake, and beautiful water views from our apartment. The hosts were incredibly kind and and attentive. Can't recommend this property enough!

A relaxing & enjoyable get away

Nancy & Dan took a lot of care to stock the kitchen & all the outdoor toys needed to have a relaxing & enjoyable get away. Felt like a home away from home on a beautiful lake. This was just what our family of four needed to reconnect before a busy school year starts. Highly recommend for an easy, relaxing & enjoyable get away!

Delightful!

This was an amazing little place to stay. We hope to enjoy it again. Very clean and modern. The hosts were wonderful and provided a lovely boat ride on the lake. We all enjoyed kayaking on the lake and the wildlife. The sound of the Loons was majestic. Very peaceful. I would live here year round if I could!

Kingston lake house

Lovely lower level studio apartment on a quiet lake. Had everything you could want incl. kayaks and a canoe. Great dock for fishing. Owners Nancy & Dan were warm and friendly, even took us on a boat ride around the lake (much appreciated). We really enjoyed our stay. One thing: as 3 adults traveling together we expected a separate bedroom from the description, but it's actually a studio. Worked out fine.

A special place, with amazing hosts

We loved spending a week at this wonderful spot. The fully covered lakeside patio was a delightful place to relax and enjoy our meals, and the huge ground floor studio apartment was spotlessly clean and had beautiful and comfortable furniture and a fantastic kitchen. Kingston was a great location for our vacation, an easy drive away from Exeter, from the ocean and from delicious pizza and desserts in a fun setting at Flatbread in Amesbury, MA. Nancy and Dan are outstanding hosts in so many big and small ways, from their rapid responses to all communication to the labels on every light switch. They were respectful of our privacy, gracious and generous, and clearly care very much about providing a wonderful experience for their fortunate guests.

Great Hosts

We had such a great experience (despite a little bit of bad weather). Nancy and Danā€™s place is so cozy and perfect for a little lake getaway. We were able to get out on the kayaks and Nancy gave us great suggestions on where to paddle for some beautiful scenery and even offered us a sunset boat ride. Although, it was a little too cold and rainy for it, it was a very sweet offer. If you are looking for somewhere close to The Granite Rose by Wedgewood for a wedding, this is a phenomenal location. We would definitely come back.

Next best thing to heaven

The accommodations were superb. The apartment had everything we needed for relaxing and cooking - not many places have a good collection of seasonings for cooking, but they did here. Nancy and Dave couldnā€™t have been nicer in all our communications. The dock, the Great Pond and the proximity to a lot of neat places, especially for history lovers, was perfect. The fishing rods helped me remember my days as a kid on Lake Sunapee and the use of the canoe/kayak was great. Their dog, Beckett, was a really sweetie. He hung out with us down by the water in the rain. Even the rain was nice. I hope to return here again when we can stay longer.

Fantastic location for relaxing, great hosts

The location and property are exactly as advertised, and ideal for a relaxing family vacation. We stayed as a family of four, two adults and two 12-year-old children and had plenty of space. In fact, all in all, there is more space than the pictures may lead one to believe. The hosts have been wonderful. They went out of their way to make our stay an enjoyable one, and their attention to detail shows (such as a privacy screen that you can position to shield the master bed from the couch bed). For water sports fans, there are several kayaks at your disposal (tip: try going out for a sunset paddle). If the sea is more your thing, Hampton Beach is about a 35-minute drive away. And for bad weather, there is a nice book and puzzle collection, as well as good internet access - in fact, if our employment situation let us, I would seriously consider this place for an extended stay. Highly recommended.

Truly A Retreat

We 3 sisters were very happy w/this property; its location a few steps above the lake allowed us to kayak, take an electric boat ride, read on the dock, on the patio above or on the lakeside Adirondack chairs, watch the fog roll in & later, the sun shine on the lakeā€™s ripples. The studio space is a little tight but still sufficient with full kitchen, dining space, beds for the 3 of us (one that the homeowner knows need replacing, but was still usable), & the outdoor patio offers great views. Nancy was available via text or phone call & replied to our needs ASAP. Know that you will easily hear the homeowners' footsteps from their home above, but it was not a jarring kind of noise. We were very touched by Nancy & Dan's welcome note & bottle of wine that awaited us & we happily toasted this perfect retreat on the lake.

A perfect retreat

My husband and I, along with 2 sons in their 20s, spent a fantastic week at this lakeside retreat on Kingston Lake. We felt so lucky to have discovered this property which is a true gem. Nancy and Dan were excellent hosts who were attentive, pleasant and accommodating for all of our needs, helping us to feel right at home from the arrival. The property was super clean, comfortable and functional. The location was very convenient with various shops and some nice restaurants nearby. (Boltonā€™s Lake House-a sea food restaurant around the corner-was quite good!) However, we felt most relaxed dining at home especially during the COVID time. The kitchen which was fully stocked and allowed us to easily enjoy cooking and baking just we do at home. We really enjoyed the quiet and picturesque porch overlooking the lake while having coffee and meditating in the morning and BBQing in the evening. Four of us had great fun being active throughout our stay, kayaking, fishing and floating on the lake. Thanks to Nancy and Dan for offering all those equipments! We also enjoyed playing tennis on the beautiful public courts 2 minute drive from the property. Viewing the sunset while canoeing on the water became my absolute favorite memory of this summer!! We would love to return soon!

2nd stay

This was our 2nd time staying here and we really enjoyed it! The lake is beautiful even when it rains! There are lots of puzzles and books to keep you busy if you get rained out. Nancy and Dan took us out on their boat for a tour around the lake. Lots of local wildlife and birds if you're into that kind of stuff! Very peaceful and quiet!

Wonderful!

Perfect spot for a weekend away, but certainly equipped for a longer stay if you desire. A serene lake where you can unwind, or adventure with the kayaks and local hikes. Nancy and Dan were very accommodating as hosts, and it was nice to get to know them on the sunset boat ride. Highly recommend!
