Generally speaking we tend to steer clear of large, densely populated, coastal resorts. But as complete relaxation, sun and a reasonable price was our objective, we decided to give this type of holiday a go.
Even though we were in the appartment for the first week of July, the street, appartment block and shared grounds were very peaceful and quiet. The vegetation, gardens and flowers were very well kept and added greatly to my personal enjoyment of the holiday. The pool was often empty, or used by a maximum of 10-15 people at at a tme and was much appreciated by our two teenagers.
The appartment itself was much more roomy than others we have visited, the bedrooms, lounge and conservatory area in particular. We appreciated the many TV channels ( watching Wimbledon was a must) , a well equipped kitchen, including shopping bags, cool bag, the air conditioning (!) , a parasol to take to the beach and many other small details. The back balcony was used on numerous occasions to read and play games and the front garden was a further good space, although for us, too hot, as it receives full sun from midday onwards.
We enjoyed a trip to the beach at La cala de mijas and car trips to the mountain villages of Ronda and Mijas, as well as Malaga and Puerto Banus. More documentation, brochures, etc on local places would have been very welcome as we struggled to find the train station in Fuengirola for example. We left a paper tourist map of Ronda and Malaga in the flat.
Apart from minor problems with the outside door in the double room not apparently opening, I would recommend this holiday home for its space, location, cleanliness, quiet situation and facilities, and reasonable price.
