Great stay

Beautiful house in idyllic location. Outside areas are fantastic, particularly the pool area. There is a winery next door with lovely wines at good prices. House is comfortable with plenty of space for families.

Idyllic

We had a wonderful 2 weeks in Civrac. The house is in a really tranquil hamlet on top of a hill so there are amazing views over to the Gironde estuary. The house is really tastefully decorated and with good facilities and is a cool refuge when the sun gets too hot. Highlight for the kids was the pool, where they spent most of the holiday ! A few days we were at the nearby beaches, including the massive cote sauvage which is a long Atlantic beach with some great waves. Nearby towns were historic and delightful we visited numerous interesting markets and did some wine and cognac tasting. The house has 2 barbeque areas and numerous outside seating areas to stay out late and dine under the stars. It is about a 15min walk through the vineyards to get to the bakery in the mornings, which is a wonderful walk to start the day. Owner could not have been more helpful and the only negative point I can make is that the time went by so fast! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful House and Area

We couldn't have asked for a better stay. The house had literally everything you could wish for from kids entertainment (dvd, table tennis, swing, pool) to a well resourced kitchen, lovely outdoor eating areas and comfortable living spaces. We spent hardly any time in the house but stayed around the pool for most of the day. In the pool house is a handy fridge and kitchen area so we could prepare drinks and snacks without needing to go back to the house. The pool stayed at a generous 30° thanks to its solar cover so the children swam for most of the day without getting cold. While we didn't visit the winery next door, we were thoughtfully provided with a couple of bottles for the stay which was a lovely touch. Maggie text during the week to check all was well and encouraged us to make the most of the produce growing in the garden which we did - the children loved picking the raspberries and grapes and eating them by the pool. There are books at the house with many ideas for local excursions but we only left to do shops in the nearby town and spent the week eating, swimming and enjoying the tranquility and views. I would unreservedly recommend booking with Maggie, it was a wonderful week.

Maison agréable et bien équipé

Belle maison familiale. La maison est spacieuse agréable et très bien équipée (notamment concernant la vaisselle et ustensiles de cuisine). Elle est assez isolée et offre une jolie vue sur les vignes. Peu d'activité à proximité. 1ere plage à 30min en voiture. Véhicule impératif pour se déplacer sur place. La maison n'est pas climatisée mais dispose d'un climatiseur et un ventilateur mobiles. Avec les volets et la taille des pièces la maison reste fraîche au RDC malgré la chaleur extérieure. Non adaptée PMR malgré la chambre et salle de douche du RDC (pas de barre de maintient et salle de douche/ WC très étroit). Pas de rampe d'accès dans la piscine. Vérifier le bon entretien de la piscine à l'arrivée (à notre arrivée eau trouble et non chauffée, nous avons dû faire intervenir un pisciniste car le mécanisme de fermeture ne fonctionnait plus et le filtre était bouché).

J'étais désolé que vous ayez eu un petit problème avec la piscine mais j'espère que vous conviendrez que j'ai appelé l’homme responsable de la piscine immédiatement lorsque vous m'avez contacté et qu'il a rapidement corrigé le problème. j'espère que vous avez passé de bonnes vacances malgré ce problème.

Great House

We loved the house. It was all that we wished for; space, comfort, clean, in a lovely area of France. It was ideal for spending quality family time together. The orchard was very fruitful and the pool was clean and well used. We enjoyed the walks to the village which provided much need supplies ( a good selection of wines!) All together we had a great place to stay .

Everything we needed in a beautiful location

Everything we needed for a lovely holiday was available, and Maggie was always ready to help and advise with any questions we had. Great swimming pool area, and the warmest pool we've been in this part of the world. We made a lot of use of the table tennis, and the English TV helped us ensure we enjoyed the first two weeks of the World Cup

Beautiful welcoming house.

With beautiful views, spacious house, delicious vegetables from the garden and stunning swimming pool, what's not to love? The kids thoroughly enjoyed the pool, especially in the evening with the pool lights on, as well as walking the mile to the village shop for ice cream and croissants. Maggie was there for advice before and after our stay and made us feel very welcome. I hope we can return one day!

Great house with amazing views

We shared the house with my in laws and had a wonderful holiday. It was slightly larger than we needed but it was lovely to have so much space. The house its self is superb with light and airy rooms, and the garden has loads of hidden areas where I could hide from the family and read my book. The kids never left the pool, but it was easy to be on life guard duty as the view from the pool area gave infinity views over the valley. The little village is a 15minutes walk away down a country lane and has a great boulangère - i have eaten my own body weight in baguette and croisants Had such a lovely relaxing time hope to come back next year.
