Apartment with balcony in a strategic position, 50m from the sea, washing machine, wi-fi and parking *.

POSITION

The apartment on the first floor of a building of two floors is located very close to the beach in a quiet area overlooking the quiet street in the historic center of Syracuse, Ortigia. Easily accessible from Catania Airport (60 km), airport Pio La Torre Comiso (100 km) or by train / bus (2 km).
The apartment is in a strategic location for a relaxing holiday: 50 meters from the stop of the electric bus and access to the beach, grocery stores (bakery, supermarket, newsagent) are located in the same neighborhood, and cafes and restaurants are easily accessible by foot. The nearest beach is 300 meters away.

WHAT IT OFFERS

The apartment of about 55 square meters, and it ss on two floors: the first floor is a living room with flat-screen TV and sofa bed for two people; a fully equipped kitchenette with fridge, freezer, electric cooker, microwave oven, service cookware, tableware, kettle, orange juicer, kitchen towels and coffee maker.
The bathroom is with shower and bidet. Because the ceiling is very high, it was created an additional floor with a full bedroom with a double bed with bedside tables, dresser and closet.
The apartment has air conditioning / heating and it has its own modem with unlimited wi-fi connection.

The balcony is equipped with table and two wooden chairs. A laundry room with washing machine and iron is suitable on the ground floor (shared with other 3 flats).
Please note that the apartment is on the first floor and has no lift.

BIKES
2 beautiful vintage bikes are available for free for my guests.
I will provide you a pump, a lock and a key to regulate the seats of the bikes.
I kindly ask you to use ALWAYS the lock and take care of them during your excursions.
Please if you're interested in using them let me know in advance to check the availability.

PARKING

Ortigia is a limited traffic area particularly in the evening after 8 p. m and week-ends. Close to my flat there'are some free parking spaces.
I strongly suggest you to reserve a parking space in a pay private garage or to park in the pay public parking.
The pay public parking "Talete" is about 700 meters from the flat. You can easily reach the flat by walking or taking the electric bus.
If you decide to park at Talete Parking, for unloading luggage during times of the ZTL, I can communicate your license plate to the police to avoid fines.
The pay private garage (guarded) is about 250 meters from the flat. I'm not the owner but I'll happy to reserve for you a parking space. In this case the owner of the garage will provide you a "pass" to enter in Ortigia even during the ZTL times.
For more info and / or to reserve a parking space in the private garage please contact me in advance as limited parking spaces are available.

Zentrale & ruhige Lage

Sehr schöne eingerichtete Dachwohnung mit Balkon. zentrale & ruhige Lage.Zu Fuß ist man innerhalb von 5 Minuten in Piazza Duomo, in 2 Minuten an einem Supermarkt. Gutes Wi-Fi Komfortable Betten. Sehr gute Betreuung.

Schöne Lage, ganz in Ordnung, jedoch mit Einschränkungen

Entgegen der Annonce war ein Parkplatz nicht im Angebot inkludiert; das erfuhr man aber erst nach der Buchung. Parkplatz kostet zusätzlich 10 €/Tag. Das Apartment "Steno" ist gut gelegen und für 2 Personen ideal geschnitten und ausgestattet. Die Sauberkeit ließ allerdings zu wünschen übrig: zentimeterlange Flusen hingen aus der Abzugshaube über dem Herd (wurden nach Hinweis an die Vermieterin beseitigt), Haare (offenbar vom Vormieter) in Dusche und Bidet.

Eine hübsche Ferienwohnung im Herzen Ortigias

Die Wohnung liegt inmitten des alten Ortigias, die Wege zum Meer, den Restaurants, Geschäften und Sehenswürdigkeiten sind kurz. Die Vermieterinnen (Roberta und ihre Mutter) sind äußerst freundlich, hilfsbereit und geben tolle Tipps für den Urlaub in Siracusa. Die Wohnung entspricht der Beschreibung und wird gut gepflegt. Leider staut sich in dem Schlafzimmer unter dem Dach die Hitze, aber es gibt einen Ventilator und auch eine Klimaanlage, um Abhilfe zu schaffen. Die engen Gassen - so schön sie sind - haben für lärmempfindliche Menschen den Nachteil, Geräusche zu verstärken. Ganz ruhig ist es hier nicht, dafür aber zentral.

Two excellent weeks in Ortigia.

My husband and I have used VRBO with confidence that the apartments will be as they are described. Roberta's description was just what we found. Just minutes from the sea, the apartment was well furnished and perfect for our two week stay. Even though it was the off-season, many shops and eateries were open. It is an easy town to explore. Syracuse, just across the bridge, has wonderful history, including an Archeological Park with Roman theater and Greek amphitheater. It was good to come home: after a day of exploring and prepare a light evening meal in the kitchen. Market is fun, but if you need a traditional grocery store, there are two very close to the apartment. Part of the agreement was to pay a portion of the electric bill. We felt the rate was fair and did not mind paying an xtra 24 Euros per week for heat and utilities. The laundry is a shared washer in the lower level and we had no problems with the other guests when it came to sharing the laundry facilities. Our only concern is the beautiful loft bedroom ceiling! The beams are traditional for this area, but my husband seemed to find ways to hit his head frequently! Anyone over 5'8" will need to be careful. Perfect place, wonderful community and great way to relax along the sea. Thank you, Roberta and mum for being such good hostesses!

Good location in Ortigia, a little hard to find

The property had all amenities advertised. It was a great location easy to walk to all sites, restaurants and shops. However the building owner had construction going on the entire time we were there, I wish they would have made this known to us. The work began at 7:00 a.m. It was unbelievably loud, making it impossible to sleep. We stayed during late November the weather was cold and rainy, unfortunately the apartment did not have adequate heating making it a little uncomfortable. The bathroom is a nice size however the water never gets very warm and the drain backs up almost as soon as you turn on the shower.
