Estuary of the Coroño River

    At the mouth of the main river of Boiro, is one of the most beautiful and peculiar natural places in the area. Here, the Coroño River finally arrives at the end of its journey forming a small estuary surrounded by typically lacustrine vegetation, pines, oaks, etc. It is an ideal natural dry dock for small boats. Cross the bridge that connects Escarabote with Boiro and the Barraña seafront begins.



Cadarnoxo waterfall

    Waterfall that can be observed in the parish of Cures. Especially in the rainy season. It is accessed from the road from Boiro to Noia; in the place of Moimenta, km 8, we take a detour to the left and, in 500 m we follow the detour to Fervenza de Cadarnoxo.

Pond of Abanqueiro
 In the parish that bears the same name there is a small ecosystem with an abundant flora and fauna, an example of the Galician lake area. Ecosystem in which various species of fauna and flora associated with humid areas have their habitat: river hen, gray heron, royal teal, feline or mallard, among others.

Its environmental importance is based mainly on the role it plays as a nesting and breeding place for waterfowl, with one of these species protected by law. In the rainy season it reaches a maximum length of about 200 meters and a width that ranges between 60 and 180 meters, with a total area of ​​about 20,000 square meters.



Lagoas de Carragueiros

    Near the beach of Carragueiros in Cabo de Cruz. We can find both species of the wetland (loon, mallard, river hen, gray heron, egret, ...) and birds associated with the marine space (curlews, oystercatchers, sandpipers, cormorants, ...)
