🌞Enjoy this renovated early 1900's barn on 140 acres in the Gasconade River Valley. Just 1 & 1/2 hours from St. Louis and Kansas City, it is easily accessible. This renovated 3-story Barn is 3,500 square feet and sleeps up to 16 plus people with pull-out couches. Amenities include full kitchen (with kitchenware), breakfast room, laundry room, spacious 2-story great room, wood burning masonry fireplace, 6 bedrooms, 2 lofts, 2 full baths, air conditioning/heat, 2 exterior decks with seating, satellite TV, internet (January 2020 new and improved internet), BBQ pit, horseshoe pits, and firewood if paid for and requested in advance. We are Pet friendly and lots of room to roam for the pooches ($100 fee extra). The Lodge has enough beds to sleep 16 people and enough pull-out couches to sleep 6 more (includes all bedding). The Lodge at Crider Creek is great retreat, perfect for reunions, business outings, and family vacations. There are plenty of outdoor activities on property including fishing, hiking, star gazing, bird watching, wild life viewing, kayaking, canoeing, BBQing, making fires in the fire-pit, and exploring Crider Creek. If you are looking for a location to unwind away from the "big city" or want to entertain a large group comfortably in the seclusion of some of the most beautiful Missouri farmland, the Lodge at Crider Creek is waiting for you!

Family get away

The property was a good size enough bedrooms for everybody in the family. Enjoyed the outdoor areas, ponds,creek and campfire.

Nice Quiet Place

The property was absolutely lovely. The home was incredibly well stocked and very comfortable. They have great shades on the windows so nap time was delightful. We had a great time messing around in the creek and catching crawdads. We went fishing and got a couple of sunfish and one bass. We had a lot of fun playing ping-pong in the basement/garage area. The fire pit was really nice too although we didn’t spend much time out there since it was over 90 our entire stay. If you love being immersed in nature like we do, this is the spot for you. Out the dining room window there is a hummingbird feeder that gets drained daily. There are typically six hummingbirds fighting over it at any given time. We saw a turkey hen with three chicks walk across the back mowed area. There are butterflies and lizards galore around the fire pit. We even had a tree frog on the window at night when the porch light was on. The creek is teaming with life and the lake has fish and turtles. The host is great with communication! This was our family’s favorite VRBO location yet.

Rural Paradise

This property was everything the listing promised and more! Our extended family made so many memories and there was never a dull moment- between fishing, sitting around the fire pit, relaxing in the hammock, playing darts and pool, and exploring the creek. The spacious kitchen made it easy to prep for our party of 18, and we found everything we could ever need. Highly recommend!!

Perfect for a family reunion!

So much space for the whole family (we had 4 families gather together for our reunion) and a beautiful property to explore. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to make meals to feed a crowd. The kids loved the yard games, fishing in the pond, and making smores at the bonfire. Excellent communication provided ahead of time with all the info you need to prepare for arrival.

Family Reunion

Great space and home. It was perfect for our small family reunion. We enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room and towels. The negatives are, location on dirt road, no easy entry - the driveway needs a bridge over the small creek- and to enter the house, you have to climb stairs. Otherwise, we had a very enjoyable time! Unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there, so we didn't get to explore the property.

Great place

We had a family vacation here with our three adult children, their spouses, and our two grandsons. Everyone had a great time! The house is clean and has so much character! It was big enough for us all to have our privacy, along with being big enough for us all to be together. The dogs loved it too! Mike, the owner, was quick to reply to questions and was very accommodating, as well as was the caretaker. We would love to go back again!

Great getaway for family reunion or large family function

Out in nowhere with lots of great opportunities to connect with the people you travel with. Game room, large hearth room, great deck and yard for whiffle ball and football games. It is not 1&1/2 hours from KC, at least 3 hrs. A/C upstairs has a hard time keeping up when it is in the mid 90’s. We loved the place and it was great for kids (6 to 14 in our group. The inside and out accommodated us.

It was a rainy weekend, but my grandkids loved and used the kayaks and paddleboat between rain showers. When the rain stopped Saturday evening we sat around the firepit. The grandkids made smores, and the adults loved the peace and quiet of the area. We loved the pool table, cornhole set and the darts. Enough room for all of my kids and grandkids.

Awesome remote lodge!

The lodge was everything we hoped for when booking it! Remote and quite but still reasonably close to a town. Has plenty of room for a large group. When they redid this old hay barn they really thought everything completely through and I wouldn't change a thing about the property! Hoping to make another trip next year!

Great Getaway

We loved our stay here. It was perfect for our 5 couples and 7 single kids/young adults. Everything was as advertised. Perfect set-up for lots of R&R, lots of yard games, close to golf course and groceries. Megan and Craig were great hosts...always available and responsive!

Family Retreat

Great family getaway

Great property to get away from the city. My wife and I and our three kids spent 3 nights enjoying time away from the city. We loved the bonfires, walks on the hiking trails and fishing. There was only five of us but the lodge could easily handle a large group/family.

Family Reunion

We had a family reunion here. We had a variety of ages and lots of people. There was plenty of room to sleep and hang out. It never felt crowded. There were plenty of activities to keep us entertained. The kids spent the majority of their time in kayaks on the pond. The manager was easy to talk to and very helpful.

R & R

We were very impressed with this place. Beautiful surroundings and a lot of peace and quiet. Their was plenty of offerings to keep everyone busy: hiking, kayaking, corn hole, pool table, stereo throughout the house and porches. The bathrooms and kitchen were well stocked.

The Barn

My family had a wonderful stay. The property was secluded, on a gravel road, and we could count the number of cars that drove by on 2 hands. The nearby creek was fun to explore but could be slippery so wear water shoes. We made trips into the St. Louis Zoo, the Jefferson City Penitentiary and Meramec Caves. None of these trips were that far away and the property manager gave us some good suggestions for picking up take out dinners on the way home Lots of things to do there; games, ping pong, fishing, hiking. We would definitely stay again.

Great property for a big family

The lodge was great, the property is huge and had lots of activities. The rooms were nice with comfotable furnishings and there was plenty of space to cook and play. Kids loved kayaking and fishing.
