This is a beautiful, spacious late 18th century three-story house on a magnificent terraced lot in the hills to the east of the famous rock cliff of La Roque-Gageac. We spent a lovely week there as an extended family (3 couples and a toddler). The appliances, plumbing, and electricity are modern. The pool was great, there was a formal dining room and a covered patio table for dining, plenty of equipment in the kitchen. The listing describes the house accurately. There was a travel crib, high chair and the staircases had protective child gates. It is on a narrow steep paved one-lane road which connects at both ends with larger roads. The 2 driveways are narrow, steep, and at an acute angle if you are driving uphill. The driveway that your map app will lead you to takes you to a single parking space in front of the house. The other driveway, which is a short distance uphill and not visible from the house, leads to a flat parking area which can accommodate several cars. For some reason, the info provided online after you complete the booking does not include how to find this driveway (the property manager will tell you in person as you check in!). There are limestone pathways with steps that connect the terraces - the pool, the house, the parking area. Difficult if you have mobility issues. The whole region favors smaller vehicles although our largest car was a full sized SUV and we managed.
