Tucked away among the gentle hills of Montalcino and at the heart of the Brunello wine region, an authentic Tuscan farmhouse sits gracefully atop a hill, offering a stunning 360° panorama of the surrounding countryside. Here, amidst ancient vineyards and olive groves, time moves slowly, wrapped in the silence and beauty of the Val d'Orcia. It is the ideal refuge for those in search of tranquility, relaxation, and nature, where each sunset paints unforgettable scenes that linger in the heart.

The apartment is located on the ground floor and features a spacious open-plan entrance with a fully equipped kitchen and a cozy living room with a usable fireplace.
It offers two comfortable bedrooms: one with a double bed and one with two single beds.
For maximum privacy, there are also two separate bathrooms, both with shower.
Outside, guests can enjoy a private patio with a table and chairs for their meals, as well as a beautiful panoramic garden with barbecue and sun loungers, perfect for relaxation.

The house is located in the heart of the picturesque Val d'Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site, about 50 minutes south of Siena and an hour and a half south of Florence.

In just 20 minutes, you can reach the center of Montalcino, world-famous for its renowned Brunello di Montalcino wine, while San Giovanni d’Asso, known for its precious white truffle, is only 10 minutes away.

In 20-30 minutes, you can reach San Quirico d'Orcia and Pienza, known as the 'ideal Renaissance city' and for its Pecorino cheese, where some scenes of the famous film Gladiator were also filmed.

Essential services such as a supermarket, bakery, café, pastry shop, and pharmacy are located in the nearby village of Torrenieri, just 10 minutes from the property.

For thermal bath lovers, Bagno Vignoni is about 20 minutes away, while the free thermal baths of Bagni San Filippo with the famous 'Balena Bianca', and the thermal baths of Rapolano Terme can be reached in about 40 minutes.

For those who wish to take a day trip to the sea, Castiglione della Pescaia or the free beach of Marina di Alberese in the Uccellina Natural Park are about an hour and a half away.

The house is amazing - the pictures really don’t do it justice! Everything was spotless and beautifully decorated. There was lots of space and stunning views out the front and back. It’s a perfect jumping off point for lots of the towns in Val D’Orcia. Angela, Alessendro and their daughter were perfect hosts

We had a wonderful stay and the hosts Angela and Alessandro are a lovely couple who made us feel so welcome. They led us by car to Torrieneri which is close by for groceries and wine and the views from the house are just spectacular. My only comment was the difficulty of finding the property as it is off the main road however we are older and possibly not up on all the gps co-ordiates etc. I would say anyone who wants to experience Tuscany at its most beautiful could not choose a better location and amazing hosts. Grazie Mille to them both

Beautiful View

I really enjoyed staying here. Heating is charged separately at the end of the stay. 22 cubic meters costed 130 Euros. Something to be aware of. It is a farm house so little harmless insects can be seen. Not a problem for me because it shows how clean and preserved the environment is. Angela provided a crib for my 5 month old son. They are readily available when you need them in person and whatsapp. Location is pretty decent. Downtown really close!

Amazing

This is the perfect house for your Tuscany vacation. Has everything you need, kitchen with full size fridge, oven and stovetop with pots, pans and plates! Stand up showers with perfect hot water after a long day of exploring. Great little town 10 minutes away called Torrenieri that we ate at twice, best meal I had while there….. two restaurants both are great. Owners Angela and Alessandro were great hosts, always available if needed anything. Even stopped by to drop off a warm comforter as it was going to be cold that night. Town of Buonconvento is 15 minutes away, great little shops and restaurants. There is a small store there that sells fresh fruits and vegetables, better than you can get at the local market COOP. I would have loved to stay until even longer, this place was perfect! Just a beautiful relaxing location.

A beautiful Tuscan experience

We adored our time in this beautiful Tuscan farmhouse. It was in the most magnificent location away from the crowds of Italy. It was peaceful and calm and a perfect start to our holiday. Angela was a warm, friendly and helpful host and added to the wonderful experience we had in Tuscany. We loved this property.

Urlaub wie in einem Kunstwerk…überall wo man hinschaut traumhaftes Panorama, wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge, ein liebevoll, original renoviertes, großes Bauernhaus, dass keine Wünsche offen lässt. Sehr gute Lage für Ausflüge, Ruhe und Erholung pur. Wunderbarer Aufenthalt

Wir hatten zwei wunderschöne Wochen bei Angela und Alessandro (wobei gesagt werden muss, dass die Vermieter nicht mit in dem Haus wohnen, aber immer verfügbar sind)! Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend, die Wohnung schön, im toskanisch- rustikalem Stil hergerichtet. Man hat von der Terrasse eine wunderbare Aussicht über das Val D‘Orcia bis nach Siena und wohnt, trotz guter Anbindung, mitten auf dem Lande in herrlicher Ruhe. Man hört selbst tagsüber meist nur den Wind und die Vögel. Es hat uns ganz wunderbar gefallen, wir haben viele Ausflüge von dort machen können und die Zeit vor Ort sehr genossen! Wir kommen ganz bestimmt wieder, liebe Angela und Alessandro, seid ganz herzlichst gegrüßt, macht weiter so!

Idyllic spot in Val d'Orcia

This house has amazing views, in the front and in the back, everywhere you look, it is spectacular, it seems you can’t ever get enough of that view. We were two couples in the house and it is very well divided with each couple having its own bathroom. The kitchen and living room were both roomy but of course we spent most of our time outside! It was not that warm at the beginning of our stay. Heat is charged extra when needed. Angela and Alessandro are very charming hosts. Angela was a great help when my husband had his wallet stolen from him in Rome with everything in it including his driver’s license. As he was our designated driver and the only one with an International Driver’s License, we had to cancel our car rental. Angela was very helpful and sympathetic with our predicament and found us a driver from the train station to the house and back at the end of our stay. Thank you Angela! This meant for us to walk to the closest village (Torrenieri) when we needed groceries (small but well furnished COOP-supermarket) but it was a very nice walk (4 km one way) and we did not mind at all. We did walk a lot in the area and really enjoyed our time in Tuscany. If there was one thing I would suggest to improve, it would be internet. A mobile device was provided but it was quite slow and unreliable. In these days it is hard to live without a good internet connection even in an environment as idyllic as this house.

Le foto non riesco a rendere a pieno la bellezza di questo posto. Lo sguardo spazia su una cartolina, i tramonti sono incantevoli, la quiete assoluta. Gli interni sono arredati con ricercatezza che ti fa vivere il luogo. Bellissima la zona cucina in stile toscano. I proprietari sono sempre stati cortesi e disponibili dandoci sempre i consigli migliori. Consigliatissimo!

Casa molto bella e spaziosa, bellissimo panorama

Siamo rimasti 5 giorni in questo spazioso e bel appartamento arredato con gusto. Anche il nostro cagnolino è stato un ospite ben accetto. La campagna di Siena è sempre incantevole. I padroni di casa sono stati gentili e disponibili. Unico problema sono state le zanzare piuttosto fastidiose. Hanno detto che è stata cosa anomala, quindi forse siamo stati solo noi sfortunati. Cucina attrezzata, presente anche un barbecue a disposizione. Tavolo, sedie e sdraio molto confortevoli. Le foto rispecchiano appieno l'appartamento. Silenzio meraviglioso, notti piene di stelle. Ein empfehlenswertes Ferienhaus in ruhiger Lag mit tollem Blick über die Landschaft. Sauber und ausreichend ausgestattetes Haus mit eingezäuntem Grundstück (Hund), Zwei Liegewiesen mit aller Ausstattung für Sonnenhungrige. Freundliche und hilfsbereite Vermieter. A thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing holiday for all the family.

The property was fairly remotely located a couple of miles along an unmade road from the nearest village which had good facilities including a small supermarket and a couple of cafes/bars. Access from here to the surrounding countryside and hilltop villages and towns was good with Sienna the major settlement being about 40 minutes drive and well worth spending the day exploring and discovering the local cuisines.The views from the villa were as spectacular as the advertised photos with a lovely private garden and shaded outdoor dining area where we enjoyed our meals looking across the wonderful Tuscan landscape. The living area and bedrooms were very clean and spacious with adequate facilities. We had a lovely welcome from Angela and Alexandro once we arrived and were sad to leave as the week went quickly. An ideal location for 'chilling out' or driving around the Tuscan countryside.

Nice house, friendly owners, infested with bugs.

Very sad to report that the 2wks we booked at Casa Maria ruined our time in Tuscany. We ended up spending 5 nights in hotels. Tried to get the owners to treat the house for the bug infestation but they said nothing they could do. We asked to leave and get reimbursed and they refused. I will post a more detailed review of all our complaints as well as pictures in _____soon. Also, when we reported to VRBO the above complaints they could do nothing but forward our complaint to the owners. We have traveled all over Italy and other European countries and NEVER had a problem like this before.

Casa di Maria is a stunning property with extraordinary views. We'd stay again in a second.

Our stay at Casa di Maria was wonderful. Angela and her family did everything they could to make us comfortable. We had amazing sunset views every night, and we loved the quiet and slower pace after being in the city. We had a significant amount of space and everything we needed to cook and have long relaxing meals outside. The location is also close to everywhere you might want to go in Tuscany. I can not emphasize enough that the pictures do NOT do this this place justice. It is a dream. We hope to return!

Beautiful location, great property, wonderful owners and a perfect vacation in Tuscany!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights, we wish we had stayed longer. The owners of the property (Angela, and Adele) greeted us at the property and were so friendly, you can tell they really care about making everything as perfect as possible for their guests. The home-made fruit pie upon arrival was a really nice touch! They are great people. The 360 degree views from this property are breathtaking. We made sure to get back early every night to watch the sunset from the yard with a glass of wine. This was our second trip to Tuscany and I really don't think you can find accommodations with better views and overall setting. The interior of the property is very spacious and has everything you will need. Location is perfect for touring the Montalcino and Montepulciano wine regions. Also not that far from Siena.

This place is a Wonder!!

We stayed here for a week. Montechiari is very close to the most charming Tuscan villages, towns and all these fantastic views of Tuscany that became pilgrimage sites of photographers from all over the world. But not only, the location itsel is the real heart of Tuscany, and all this beauty 360 degrees around was just for us, right now and here. Fabulous house, fresh air, green hills, the silence sounds like a melody. Sunrises and sunsets. BBQ and wine. And of course dear owners that became our good friends, our Tuscan cousins. More briefly: if we could we would stay here forever! Angela, Alessandro, Andrea, Adele .. and ehhhh .. Vilma! Grazie di cuore, ci mancate tanto tanto. A presto! Alexander, Igor, Rimma, Hanum

Fall in love with Tuscany!

We loved the beautiful villa in Val D'Orcia that has been taken such good care of by Angela and her family. We didn't want to leave the gorgeous setting. All the reviews were right on and 100% accurate. The pictures don't even do it justice. Every window we looked out had a magnificent view of the rolling hills and countryside. We loved the property, spectacular views and very relaxing. It is 10 mins from the little town of Torrenier where you will find a wonderful Italian restaurant and about 20mins to the pretty little town of Buonconvento. It is also a short drive to many hilltop towns such as Montalcino, SanQuirico and Montepulciano. I would highly recommend this property and would stay again in a heartbeat. Our hosts Angela and Alessandro were very charming and helpful. A vacation we will never forget.

Zur Ruhe kommen inmitten der weiten toscanischen Landschaft

Die Wohnung liegt malerisch mit einigen anderen Ferienwohnungen zusammen, aber absolut ruhig, auf einem der toscanischen Hügel und bietet eine sehr schöne Fernsicht. Sie ist am besten auf Naturstraßen von Torrenieri aus erreichbar. Sie bietet ein großzügiges Ambiente, ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet und verfügt über 2 Freisitze, so dass man Morgen- und Abendsonne genießen kann. Die Vermieter Angela und Alessandro sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Für Kunstinteressierte hat die Wohnung eine ideale Lage zwischen Siena, Pienza und Montepulciano. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohlgefühlt
