2 Bed / 2 Bath cottage is whimsically decorated and a comfortable place to call your home away from home. Our goal is to inspire you to return again.

Master suite: king
Guest bedroom: queen
Either bedroom - you will enjoy a good night sleep!

Master Bath with full size shower; Guest Bath with tub-shower.

Full-size kitchen is abundantly equipped, and features a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator with ice maker and eat-in breakfast nook. Full-size washer and dryer.

The living room with fireplace is a great place to unwind. L/R Sofa is comfortable double bed for additional sleeping. Large flat-screen TV ready for you to cast your favorite shows. DVD player and a stock of DVD's are also available.

Wireless high speed internet available free.

Enjoy some laid-back outdoor time in the courtyard or private new screened room and back deck. Gas grill and seating on the back deck is great for cooking up some of the local fare!

COVID19 Coronavirus Update: this cottage is disinfected after every use including remotes, all high touch surfaces (doorknobs, handles, light switches) bathrooms and kitchen. We delay bookings between guests and use high filtration air conditioning filters. We monitor the current status locally and have blocked availability when needed to protect any guests.

Local attractions:
Fantastic local micro-brewery, Eden Abbey, is a ten minute walk away on Highland St. Gilbert Park on Liberty Ave has a beautiful nature walk, and is also an easy walk from the cottage. Village Farmers Market Sundays 9am-2pm at the end of Donnelly St. by the lake open Fall through Spring. Convenient to all Downtown Mt. Dora activities, restaurants, and shopping. Beautiful live Theatre in Mt Dora with top caliber plays.

Just a very special place. Clean and cozy. Beds and pillows so comfortable. Everything we possibly needed and more. Loved the screened in porch. Scones were delicious except my husband ate them all lol. Nice touch with gifted wine and our host was a great communicator. No doubt the best VRBO rental ever. Thank you. And yes, I will rent again.

Holly's Hideaway- a great place.

We stayed the entire month of February, and had a great time. The home was very clean, comfortable, and well furnished. Holly and Dale responded to every question and made our stay so enjoyable.

Holly's place is so peaceful and quite, me and my family had all accommodations that Holly could possible have, me and my grandson loved spending time pn the swing ,love the front porch and back porch,would recommend Holly's place to everyone.

Fabulous bungalow!

It was very comfortable and centrally located. Holly has done a great job in supplying anything anyone would need and is readily accessible without being intrusive. It is a very comfortable space. I would highly recommend Holly’s Hideaway!!

Wonderful!

Very comfortable, clean and convenient place to stay. Holly and Dale were very accessible when needed. Very quiet neighborhood. The courtyard and screened in porch where wonderful places to relax at the end of the day or in the morning drinking your coffee. Had all the conveniences of home. Would definitely stay again!

nice-clean and comfortable

We were met by the owner who showed us around and told us about the property. This property is well maintained, clean and has a great quiet location. We had our small dog with us which worked out great. We look forward to using the property again in the future.

Lovely garden and quiet neighborhood. We lacked for nothing. Clean and organized. Great snacks provided. Near the historic district. Can walk everywhere. Loved it.

Wonderful hide-a-way!!

This home is actually better than advertised! The outdoor areas are lush and so relaxing. The interior is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. This kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed every minute! The only negative, for the guys, was there were no local TV stations on which to watch their football games 😂😂 We would definitely stay there again - and actually would love to live there!!

A perfect place to stay in Mount Dora

We spent the weekend at Holly's Hideaway and didn't want to leave! The house is so comfortable and immaculate. There is not one detail that has been overlooked, and you truly feel at home during your stay. We were fortunate to have good weather, and enjoyed the beautiful outdoor living space as much as possible. When not on the patio we were touring the town on bikes. I am looking forward to our next visit.Thanks Holly and Dale for making our weekend getaway perfect!!

Home away from home-we found it!

We now spend at least 3 weeks in winter in Florida but not ready for a gated community. We found the perfect place-homey, clean, well stocked kitchen and our hosts Holly and Dale were welcoming and helpful but not intrusive. Mount Dora is a great place to be..fun downtown with good restaurants and quaint shops. Only ~ 1 mile walk to the lake and beautiful sunsets. We'll be back!

This is our “ happy place”

I don’t know where to begin. It is spotless clean. The furniture is comfortable. It is cozy. It is our home for 2 months every year and we would not go anywhere else. We are fortunate to have found it. Working with Holly and Dale is so easy. A definite 5 star!

Excellent vacation home

My husband and I rented this home for several weeks this May/June 2015. We were so happy with how the house was so well equipped, organized and beautifully maintained. Every room in this home is immaculate and extremely comfortable. The location couldn't have been more perfect to downtown Mount Dora as well close proximity to road connections to major shopping areas. I would highly recommend this home and look forward to returning in the future. Thank you Holly !

It was all it was advertised to be and more.

My daughter and I and her small children always enjoy the Mt. Dora Fall Festival. Usually we stay at a hotel in Traveres but this year decided it would be nice to stay closer to town. Holly's Hideaway was the perfect pick for us. The home was clean and neat. Holly is so organized and she made it easy for us to be good house guests. The beds were Hilton comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with all we needed. Her place is decorated beautifully and was just a great comfort to come "home" to at the end of our very busy day. Holly's Hideaway will definitely be our first choice for future trips to Mt. Dora.

Cozy, comfortable and convenient

Holly is a wonderful host! This is a great place to stay. All the comforts of home and convenient to a variety of attractions/places. Mount Dora has some nice places to eat and visit (shout-out to PizzAmore, their food is awesome). Mount Dora has a lovely downtown area too. Lots of local shops to browse. And Orlando is just a short drive away if that's what you prefer. The beds were quite comfortable, and so were the recliners and couch. We LOVE the screened porch and spent quite a bit of time out there relaxing and just enjoying the lovely weather. We ate breakfast out there twice. :-) The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need. We plan on staying here again next year.

Beautiful home and has everything you need

We just returned from a 2 night stay at this home. Our group included two couples attending the Mount Dora Bicycle Festival. It truly does have everything you need including plenty of linens, pillows, spices, etc. One thing to note which may have been written and I just missed it is this is a duplex so I'm not really sure how the yard is split up with the other side as it seems to be open to both sides but it was not a problem for us. The home is about 1.25 miles from town so was about a 25 minute walk or a 5-10 minute ride on our bikes. Probably could have been much quicker but we are pretty slow walkers. Holly was very attentive and if we had encountered any problems I know she would have taken care of it but it had everything we needed and was perfect!

Hidden Treasure

Holly's Hideaway is a paradox of being both a few blocks from Highway 441 for convenience, but secluded and quiet for privacy. The house is on a cul-de-sac and the backyard entrance is unique at first, but soon you realize the advantages of sitting on your "front porch" and enjoying peaceful view of the back yard. The house is charmingly furnished. The kitchen is well equipped. The nights are quiet. We slept with the windows open when it was cool enough. When it wasn't cool enough, the central air conditioning system cooled the house down rapidly. There were a couple of questions I had for Holly when I arrived, and she was quick to answer when I texted her. She also did a great job of providing pre-stay information via e-mail. Our group of four adults had a great stay there. Also, the house is about a mile from Gilbert Park on the shore of Lake Dora which is a great place for your morning walk on the boardwalk for your daily dose of alligator/cormorant/heron/coot/grebe/ibis/egret. The Spanish moss all over the trees is quite scenic, also.

The house was exceptional. The house is very clean, well stocked with kitchen supplies (cookware, plates, cups, bowls, glasses and spices). All the amenities that are listed on the site were there. The beds are very comfortable. The outdoor area is very nice with a swing and table and chairs. Brett was very responsive when asked a question or needed help with something. The house is about a 20 minute walk from downtown. I highly recommend staying at this home for your getaway.

Holly and her husband have been residents since 1989. Both are transplants from south Florida. They found Mount Dora charming immediately and raised their children here in this hideaway and still call Mount Dora home.

This home is an owner’s suite, which is attached to the back of front of home long-term rental apartment. The entrance to this home is through the gate left of garage which opens up to a private oasis. The building is a unique builder’s design with privacy in mind. A true hide away the owner’s have personally enjoyed for years. The owner’s have experienced many long term tenants over the years and now have many returning guests. Safety and sound privacy have been well built into this structure. The owner would love to share this home with you as their guests.

Holly is a nurse specialist in infection control and is very involved in the state and national organizations for Infection Prevention. She will assure you this home is cleaned to hospital expected standards. She loves the outdoors, walking, hiking, kayaking. There is an abundance of central Florida springs and trails she considers local hidden treasures.

We purchased this property during the 1989 February Mt. Dora Art Festival. We fell in love with the close-to-downtown location for all the downtown events AND the private personal park setting of this home located at the end of a nice, quiet street. It is located a mile from Donnelly St and Fifth Ave intersection. This was our family home for 5 years!

Beautiful walk to a great little city: If you want to walk to downtown, recommend walk to Liberty Street then down passed Donnelly Park to the lake. Follow lake around marina and then up Donnelly Street. There is a parking there and a parking garage at that end of Donnelly Street as well. This is a beautiful walk. City maps are available in the living room hutch by patio doors and/or in the Welcome Book located in the top shelf of living room bookcase.
