Great communication before our trip so we knew exactly where to go and how to get in. The cottage was immaculate with lots of nice touches such as milk in the fridge and homemade brownies and jam waiting for us. Great place to stay. Thank you Victoria.

We had a great week in The Cottage. The cottage is well equipped, clean and in a lovely peaceful location. Great secure garden for our labrador with easy access to footpaths. Ideally situated for easy access to many Northumberland attractions and a great dog friendly pub 10 minutes drive away. Highly recommended!

Lovely peaceful setting, full of nature and wildlife. Great enclosed garden, perfect for our dogs. Well equipped and super comfy bed. Will definitely return.Convenient for the coast, but also a lovely property to stay home and enjoy the surroundings!

Having 2 reactive dogs we spent ages trying to find a property that was standalone and with the facility to allow the dogs to run in securely. This property not only fits the bill in that respect it also is set in a lovely location.Victoria is also probably the best host we've dealt with, responding to any query quickly and positively.we would recommend and certainly would use again should we head back to Northumberland.

Lovely stay

Fantastic cottage in the middle of nowhere with a wonderful secure garden for dogs. Very comfortable and a good position to visit all the sites of Northumberland.

Shortflat farm cottage

It was a wonderful holiday. The cottage was very cozy, and the hostess even left freshly baked treats for us. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. There was also a baby crib, stair gate, and high chair. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dog.The surrounding area is also beautiful.Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice, quiet cottage that's still close to a town.

Perfect

Beautiful property in an idyllic location. I have 2 teactive dogs, so finding a suitable property to stay at is inportant. This property ticked all the boxes. Great quiet walks, amazing views, noone as a durect neighbor to the back garden. Private gated driveway. The house is a fanrastuc size, super clean, and felt at home straight away. The cottage isn't far from where i live, and i chose it as i was having works done to do the house and wanted to be out of the way. Despite that, i would still return as it felt a million miles away ftom real life.

Peaceful and Excellently Located

The cottage is lovely and just as described. The directions were thorough and easy to understand. We arrived just before dark and found our hosts had gone above and beyond to ready the place for us. The travel cot and baby gates were all set up and supplies for the dog were ready, so it made getting everyone to bed easy that first night. Everything to get us through to a morning shopping trip was available and much appreciated! We were never lacking for cooking supplies, laundry supplies, etc. throughout the stay and clean up on the day we left was easy too. The cottage walled garden was perfect for letting our dog off leash, and the grounds around were excellent for walks. It was so gorgeous and peaceful, but not too far from any of the sights we wanted to see. We were able to keep all of our day trips under an hour one-way, which was perfect. We plan to come back some time and highly recommend the cottage.

I have just returned from a stay at The Shortflatt Farm Cottage in Northumberland which is where I have stayed at for a week. I was very disappointed at the standard of this accommodation and also the cleanliness of this. I have taken photo’s if required to add to my complaint as I don’t believe this has just been left from the last people who stayed here, this has been over a period of time. On booking I was not made aware of the condition of this property which left me and my family very disappointed at our stay. I was also charged a service fee which leads me to wonder where this money is actually being spent as it is not spent on deep cleaning. On arrival my Wife had to spend time cleaning out the fridge which was left dirty and stained. We wouldn’t use the washing machine as this was thick of dirt. The wifi is very poor and I had little to no connection at times when I had work to complete, this wasn’t stated on the description of this property. My Daughter went to use the shower and there were hairs left on the shower walls. The shower was dirty and the Xpelair was thick of dust. Due to this we didn’t use the shower. We didn’t come for a weeks holiday to then have to clean the property ourselves so that we knew it had been cleaned properly. For the price of the accommodation I don’t believe this is reflected in the accommodation, amenities or cleanliness. I booked The Croft Northumberland with you last month and I would have expected the same level of standard with this stay. I appreciate this is a farm cottage however, I would have still expected this to be of a high standard for the price.

Hi Raymond, this is the first complaint we have ever had about cleanliness. As I responded to you previously by email, if you had made me aware during your stay I would have come over and resolved the issues. However you did not make me aware until a week after your stay. Regarding the wifi if you had let me know I could have helped. I take on board the washing machine detergent drawer was dirty as had not been used or checked for a while and dust had collected in the extractor fan and we will keep on top of these in the future. I do just wish you telephoned me, I only live 2 miles away and we could have resolved this in a much more satisfactory way for both of us and you could have enjoyed your stay.

We had a wonderful stay here - the cottage was clean and super comfortable. The quiet location and enclosed garden made it perfect for the dogs.The kitchen is very well equipped, there were fresh flowers on the table when we arrived and homemade scones too.Victoria was really lovely and responded to a couple of questions we had very promptly.An amazing holiday for us in beautiful countryside and we plan to go back again, highly recommended!

Christmas break

We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing week at Shortsflatt Farm over Christmas. The house was very clean and the owners left us a lovely welcome pack and a Christmas tree and decorations. The location is so peaceful with stunning views of Northumberland. We definitely didn’t want to leave at the end of the week.

The cottage

What a wonderful place to visit , cottage was a picture, as well as warm and welcoming for a winter break we had in December. Countryside is vast and stunning. Will be back for a summer visit. Host had thought of everything, there was even a fresh pint of milk in the fridge so we could have a cuppa on arrival. Brilliant, thank you.

Perfect location

A lovely cottage in a wonderful location, if peace and quiet is what your after then this is ideal. Large garden for the dog to explore. Ideal base for exploring further afield. Owners were available if needed, although they just left us in peace. Everything you need is catered for,even logs for the fire. All in all a very nice place to stay.
