'The Beach House' is a private, spacious, relaxing and newly renovated, 3 bedroom 2 bath house that exudes a Santa Barbara resort vacation - and only a 1/2 a block to the beach and the brand new, 5 star, Rosewood Miramar hotel (complete with 4 fantastic restaurants). Day passes to the pools are available for purchase on the Rosewood website. This house personifies indoor-outddor living with banks of bi-fold doors that open to a large wrap-around porch (nearly 800 sq. ft.). The porch is amply decorated with teak furniture for lounging and dining and even a relaxing hammock. The house has soaring high ceilings, rich walnut floors throughout and a fully stocked gourmet kitchen adorned with marble counters, a Wolf oven range, new Bosch dish washer and new Fisher Paykel refrigerator.

There is also a lush, tropically landscaped backyard that overlooks Montecito Creek complete with a new, large, Restoration Hardware, gas fire pit and surrounding, RH cushioned lounge chairs. The yard has a private outdoor shower with hot running water and even an outdoor claw footed bathtub also with hot water - perfect for after a long day at the beach. The property also boasts over 30 fruit trees including plum, peach, orange, and guava just to name a few - which our guests are welcome to pick, eat and enjoy.

The Beach House is also well equipped with all the necessary beach gear including an 11 foot stand up paddle board and paddle (a perfect board for beginners and the advanced alike), two 10 foot surfboards, boogie boards, and chairs and umbrellas. There is also a variety of bicycles for kids and adults.

'The Beach House' is perfectly located - just a couple minutes walk to Miramar and Hammonds beach where you can sunbath, swim and surf, only a 2 minute drive to Montecito's Coast Village Rd. and the Four Seasons Biltmore, and only a 5 minute drive to downtown Santa Barbara.

There is also a charging station for electric vehicles in the driveway.

Lovely home with lush garden spaces

The house was as beautiful as the photos. Located in a quiet, charming neighborhood, it's only a five minute walk to the beach. I booked it for my family of five (adults) and it had all the comforts and space we needed. We had space to host a small celebration for my niece's UCSB graduation. The natural light, chef's kitchen, and lush garden created a peaceful, private atmosphere. I highly recommend this home.

Perfect California Cottage

This is a little gem in Montecito! We stayed here with our family of 5 (Our children are 19-24). The house is well represented in the photos and the overall vibe is clean, cozy and serene. We are from Texas and are accustomed to A/C, but this house doesn't need it at all. We visited during August and the windows are screened in and well placed providing lots of natural light and a cool breeze. The home feels secluded and tucked away, but also is very convenient to the beach and downtown shopping. Valerie, the home's manager, was very quick to answer questions about the area and went above and beyond to provide helpful details... even the times for low and high tides! We loved getting to enjoy this wonderful home and hope to be back in the future!

Beautiful home in an incredible location

This home provided a beautiful getaway for our family of 4+ my mom. Just a short walk to two different beautiful beaches and also a short walk to the Rosewood Montecito. The architecture of the home is incredible. It’s open and light with big accordion doors to have a true indoor outdoor setting. In the backyard and various outdoor seating was truly ideal for our family. We look forward to returning! A few improvements things to know: -The home is in a wide block in between the 101 freeway and the train. You can hear both. The train doesn’t seem to run in the middle of the night, so it didn’t disturb our sleep at all. -The Wi-Fi in this neighborhood is weak. The property manager organized a new modem during our stay, and unfortunately it’s something they can’t improve upon. -The main living spaces are open and wide and very clean. But once you open a closet or a kitchen cabinet things are super cluttered and dirty or dusty.

A great family vacation home

Loved the location, near the beach and the Miramar hotel. Very close to coast village road which has lots of great restaurants and shops. The master bedroom is gorgeous, and the two kids rooms are just perfect in size and cozy. The whole house is welcoming and the outdoor spaces are amazing, truly a retreat!

Great Location

We usually stay at the Four Seasons Biltmore. A great alternative since the hotel has been closed. 1 block from the beach. Loved having the bikes and beach chairs available. Now only if you could get us access to the Coral Casino! :)

Amazing Beach House

The house is clean, beautiful and organized. A very good vibe, tropical and Hawaiian feel. It’s very close to the beach and Rosewood hotel. We walked to both. This is our first VRBO and my wife loves the landscape; the kids enjoyed hanging out at many of the seating areas in the front porch, side yard and backyard. The sound from the train didn’t bother us. You can hear it but usually just three short and soft horns. The manager and owners are responsive and very easy to work with. Also close to Lotusland and San Ysidro Ranch which we visited. Very convenient.

Lovely Cottage by the Sea!

Great house in the Hedgerow, one of Montecito's best beach neighborhoods. Easy walk to the beach and a quick bike ride or drive to the waterfront, downtown and all the great Santa Barbara dining options. Kelly, the property manager, was fantastic. Super friendly and helpful. Overall, a terrific experience.

Christmas in Montecito

Our family enjoyed our stay in Montecito for Christmas . The house is so cozy .We put up a Xmas tree and some decorations , lit the fireplace and made gingerbread cookies . It was our home away from home ( NJ) for the holiday . The location is perfect , 1/2 block from the beach and near the Miramar Hotel , where we enjoyed cocktails and Xmas dinner . The hosts Dana /Kelly we’re so wonderful . We Will definitely return !

Top notch

Great house in a great location. We already are thinking about coming back again. If you are looking for a great rental near the beach in Santa Barbara this one is hard to beat. Only negative is that the Wifi signal is weak in some areas of the house but this can easily be remedied.

Great location, great retreat.

This was a great property for a family. Close to the beach and great restaurants. The house was a great escape and served as a relaxing environment. We would stay there again in the future.

Great stay

We had a wonderful stay. The house was clean, well appointed and in good shape. Likewise, the picture do not to the house justice in terms of how serene and set-back the setting is. We would definitely stay again.

Montecito Oasis!

This house was everything and more! You feel as though you are in an oasis.....The location was 1/2 block short walk to the beach- walking distance to the Rosewood Manor Hotel--driving 10 minutes to downtown Santa Barbara--perfect!! The house itself is perfect for relaxing from the porch swing to the porch hammock....and all the outdoor seating. The firepit in the back is a nice way to end up the day with a glass of wine! The outdoor tub / shower was an amazing experience and was used mutiple times. This is a 10+ house!

Wonderful quiet getaway

We really enjoyed this charming house. Quiet, beautiful, and great location make this a gem. Beach is a block away and the town of Montecito is 5 minutes away with Santa Barbara a bit further. Both the owner and property manager were prompt, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this house!

Great Beach House

We really loved staying at this house. It is really close to the beach and the house itself was really nice. The neighborhood was quiet and the landscaping offered a lot of privacy. The blackberries growing on property were yummy. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to lower Montecito. A couple of things to the owners of the house. Please fill up the bike tires. Only one bike was usable while we were there. The beach chairs were ripped and tattered. Hard to get comfortable while laying at the beach. Other than that we had a wonderful time.

Fantastic location and very convenient and quiet

This home is a great spot for a young family or empty nesters.. the house has plenty of room, large kitchen, and master bedroom. Bed is very nice! Kitchen has everything needed but i would suggest getting a BBQ and Microwave. The owners rep is very attentive. Willing to help with anything. The best review i can give the place is i would come back...

Felt like a movie star in this private beach house

Such a relaxing and beautiful place to spend a week with family. Perfectly located near the beach and easy traveling distance from everywhere we wanted to go in Santa Barbara, Ventura, etc. I knew this home was beautiful from the photos, but as a designer was struck by the high end finishes and attention to detail in this house. This is not your typical VRBO thrown together with random furnishings! Everything from the furniture (inside & out), art, lighting, and linens was well appointed and amazing. During the stay we felt comfortable and completely at home, wish we could come back every year!

Ideal Beach Retreat

This cottage was more than we could have imagined, nestled away on a small street in South Montecito. Each day we would take long walks on the beach and sit outside on the porch, catching up on reading, playing games and enjoying the peace and quiet that comes with seclusion, privacy and the Montecito lifestyle. Pros - The master bed/bath is amazing - The wrap around porch is large with several smaller seating sections - The kitchen, while not super huge, is definitely a cooks kitchen with everything you would need to create a beautiful meal Cons - The yard is small, but it does have both an outdoor bath and shower - Your neighbors are quite close but everyone respects your privacy

Beautiful relaxing home!

My family just had the most amazing vacation at this beautiful home. The house and decorations are chic, beachy and relaxing. There are so many places to sit and read or talk. We especially loved the wrap around porch with the hammock and porch swing. The location couldnt be any better, a block from some of the best beaches and walking distance to the lower village. There were even bikes for us to use. We look forward to staying here agin!

A Very Special House

If you’re looking for a beach getaway that offers casual, relaxing simplicity yet refined and accessible elegance, then this is the house for you. The house is located on a quiet street just a short walk from two of the best beaches in Montecito/Santa Barbara. Miramar Beach is a three- to five-minute walk from the house. Hammonds Beach is about a ten-minute walk down a pathway lined with beautiful bougainvillea. We found both beaches to be swimmable and easy to boogie board and paddleboard (note: there are no lifeguards on these beaches). The house is just a few minutes’ drive (or slightly longer walk/bike ride) to the shops and restaurants on Coast Village Road in Montecito, or to the shopping village at San Ysidro and East Valley Roads. While you can hear the train from the house, we found it charming and part of the good vibe, rather than annoying. And this house is no closer to the train than the Four Seasons Biltmore or many of the houses in the area. We have stayed at several rentals in the area, and we have heard the train from all of them. It’s part of the charm. Once you park in the driveway (plenty of parking for two cars) and walk through the wooden gate, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a paradise. The lush grounds and gravel pathway lead to a beautifully appointed, fully updated, light-filled home that offers seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living. The doors on two sides of the house open up to a large wraparound porch with several areas in which to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee or a book, or catch up with friends and family. The hammock and large porch swing were popular hangouts during our week. The master bedroom is spacious and enjoys an abundance of natural light and large windows through which you can enjoy the private garden view. The two other bedrooms are a comfortable size and offer trundle beds for extra sleeping capacity. We easily put two kids in one room. There’s also a small office space. Both bathrooms are fully updated and clean. There’s an outdoor shower (and tub) for rinsing off after a day at the beach. The kitchen is fully modernized with high-end appliances. The only thing missing for us was an outdoor grill. The owners were easy to communicate with. They offer their paddleboard, two surfboards, several boogie boards and bicycles to renters. The property manager was very attentive but not intrusive. She was always quick and accommodating with our questions and requests.

Fantastic House!

We just returned from a wonderful 10 day stay at this house. When sitting in the hammock or the swinging chair on the front deck you almost think that you are in Hawaii or Costa Rica. The decor inside is top notch and the bi fold doors open up on both sides to totally bring the outside in. The walk to the beach is short and easy. As mentioned before, you can hear the train but it is more charming than annoying. We look forward to returning next year!

Great house near the beach

We spent a week at this beautiful home and had a wonderful experience! Very private setting, comfortable beds and relaxing deck. Close to great Montecito restaurants and short walk to a beautiful beach.
