Quaint cottage from the early 1900's with in Lovely front porch, Living room, & Den with fireplace. Dining room table seats 10. There are 4 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 double, two twins, & one set of bunk beds) -[bunks have a weight limit of 165 pounds each and upper bunk is for ages 6+]. There is ( new in 2019)full size sleeper sofa downstairs. Two bathrooms. One with shower only ( downstairs) and one with tub/shower(upstairs). Highchair & Greco pack n play-(new fall of 2022. )All hardwood floors refinished in fall of 2021 & new carpet upstairs ( winter 2021). Rear deck with picnic table and new gas grill(summer 2020).Large corner lot. A fully equipped/stocked kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Linens & towels included. Clean sheets are left on the foot of each bed . Wifi. & “smart tv” with FUBO streaming service May- Nov1. ( Nov.-May only antennae tv- local stations plus you can access your own Netflix etc.)One block to beach with new playground & restrooms. Close to town, parks, marina ( a splash pad for kids),cafes and art galleries. Enjoy free entertainment at East Park pavilion during the summer. One block to Charlevoix's beautiful library with a playground & free summertime concerts. Take in the fabulous sunsets from the porch! Walk to see the famous “mushroom” houses of Charlevoix. Many are right on our street.
In winter , we are a 5 minute drive to Mt.McSauba & a 35 minute drive to Boyne Mountain & Nub’s Nob (Petosky Ski area.)
Dogs- up to two allowed( 70 lb limit) with $100.00 per dog fee. (Non-refundable). We are directly across from parkland with great walking trails. Sorry No cats.
This is a NO SMOKING cottage! NO smoking (or vaping) in house, on porch or deck .No fire pits either please.
Safety Features: 6 smoke detectors( one in each bedroom & one in LR and upstairs hallway). 2 CO detectors & one fire extinguisher in kitchen.
2 night minimum Sept.-May
Weekly rentals(Saturday to Saturday) June- Labor Day.
Check -in after 4:00pm.
Check -out before 11:00am
WiFi & Smart TV with FUBO streaming service. ( May- end of Oct.). Nov.-May Antennae TV /local stations but you can access your own Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.
Keyless entry. - You’ll be given a code for keyless entry about two weeks before check-in. Our City of Charlevoix Short Term Rental License is #253-010-00.4

This property is in a great location. Very walkable and has “cottage charm”. It feels like a step back in time but the hosts have done a good job supplying all the extras a guest will need. The online description was well represented. We came for a wedding and it met our needs.

Still our favorite VRBO location

We stayed here in 2021 and it was nice to come back three years later and see that the owners pay attention to maintenance and upgrades. Everything was mostly the same but we also noticed some changes, additions, and general freshening up of the house and furnishings. As before, there was everything we could possibly need in the kitchen and bathrooms. The house was built around 1930 so there are bound to be compromises on things like closet space, but with just the two of us there was plenty of room to spread out and be comfortable. And as always, the location simply cannot be beat! It's about two minutes from an effectively "private" beach and less than a ten minute walk into downtown. Since it shares the neighborhood with the famous "mushroom houses", everything around it is also well kept and generally quiet. Several room air conditioners were running when we arrived, but we soon turned them off and that was the last time we even thought about them. It was a bit cooler than expected that week and we actually had to run the heat a couple of times in the morning, using the "Nest" thermostat that was probably not the original equipment in the house :-). It all worked well. The only issue for us now is looking ahead on our schedule and trying to decide when we'll be back!

Needs updating

Great location, helpful hosts, but the house looks like it hasn’t been updated for decades. I have spent many summers in Charlevoix, in many houses, so I’m used to what we affectionately call “Charlevoix houses”. However, there were some issues with this house that were hard to ignore, such as ceiling tiles that were sagging and had water stains. But what caused us to leave was the mold/mildew in the bathroom (no fan). Three people in our family had intense upper respiratory reactions whenever they were in the house. The host was gracious about the issue and helped us secure hotel rooms, but the quality of our trip was quite different and we ended up leaving early. We were very disappointed - we planned this trip for a year.

Another wonderful week!

This house has become our favorite place to stay in Charlevoix. The location can’t be better- steps to the beach and a quick walk into town. The front porch is our favorite spot for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Great communication from the hosts and all around a lovely stay. We already booked our return trip for next summer!

Magical time in Charlevoix

The best indicator of quality in a person or property is what happens when there is a hiccup. This property was as-advertised when we arrived. It may even undersell itself regarding location. The view to Lake Michigan through the park and trees and the sound of breaking waves when the surf is up bring instant relaxation and contentment. We were missing a small item and contacted the owners. They replied quickly and graciously, several times, to assure we had what we needed. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

Girls Trip

We rented this cottage for an annual girls trip and it was perfect! Directly across the street from the beach and a short walk to town, restaurants and shopping. Very clean and tidy. Extremely well stocked - with everything from kitchen and bathroom essentials to beach chairs and towels. We especially loved the sun room front porch to relax with a cocktail and play games. The host was very quick to answer questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location in Charlevoix

The house was perfect for our family to stay in and enjoy Charlevoix while here for a wedding. The kids enjoyed the beach and library - both within easy toddler walking distances. All of Charlevoix is easily accessible from here and we really enjoyed our time. My one qualm (and not enough to lower the rating) is that the hairdryer doesn’t have warm air and that was kind of a bummer getting ready for a wedding! Also, the sheets were a struggle to get on as they were too small for one of the queen beds. These were small things though and we’d stay here again.

Fun w family in Charlevoix

This was our second year in a row at this cottage and we really enjoy how easily our grown kids (and grandkids) fit in the house when we are up together. Love the front porch and rear deck, and everyone enjoys having Lake Michigan just a short walk away. Host are great with communication and super easy check-in and check-out.

Excellent Place to Stay

The house was located within walking distance of both the beach and downtown area. We are a family of five and there was plenty of space to spread out in both sleeping and seating areas House was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here to family and friends!

Just What We Needed

My husband is from Michigan and most of his family still lives there. My mom has never been to Michigan so I wanted to treat her to a trip and my in-laws suggested Charlevoix. My in-laws came with us so we wanted a house that could accommodate everyone (including my 5 year old son). The location was wonderful and the house was very accommodating. The beds were comfortable enough, there were fans for most of the rooms, and there were plenty of books and toys for my son. The only bummer was that the walk down to the beach included quite a few steep steps. For most of us it was fine and the beach was wonderful, but my mom is disabled so she wasn't able to enjoy that benefit. But the beach is easily accessible with just a short 5 min drive, so overall we loved the place and may just have to come back :)

Wonderful location

Wonderful locatio !

This lovely home is in a superb Charlevoix location. Lake view thru the trees at the park across the street, short stroll to both a beach park and downtown, and adjacent to several mushroom houses! Be sure to take a mushroom house tour, charming and informative.

Spent years vacationing in northern Michigan as a child. We vacationed in this home in 2014 with our lab, Marley. When it went up for sale we partnered with a long time friend who lives in the area and snapped it up. This is a charming home on Park Ave surrounded by Earl Young 'mushroom' homes. We plan to keep this home for many years to enjoy.

Located in the City of Charlevoix this charming early 1900’s cottage is located on the corner of Sherman and Park Avenue. Enjoy the views of Lake Michigan. Stroll 1 block to the library(a wonderful place offering concerts ), or the beach with playground. Take the dog for a walk through the pet friendly park directly across the street .In the evening enjoy movies and concerts in East Park on Round Lake just a a few minutes walk away.

We spend a great deal of time on the enclosed front porch. Perfect place to read a book, catch up with old friends while sharing a morning coffee or evening glass of wine! The large deck at the back of the house has a a grill and picnic table. You'll love all the hardwood trim and floors. The location can’t be beat!
