Hosting a large master bedroom suite, complete with double sink vanity, tub/shower, washer/dryer and appliances, this remodeled cottage is ideal for a quiet get away. With front and back porches and a large firepit area, there is plenty of room to sit back, enjoy the scenery in a quiet and peaceful community setting. Two 40 inch tvs, blu ray players and WiFi allow you to stay connected as well.

Beautifully decorated, spacious yet snug-feeling cottage in a quiet, serene setting. Despite the solitude, you are less than 15 minutes from virtually every amenity you could need: shopping, dining, auto fuel and services, etc. This was our second stay and definitely won’t be the last. Thank you, Chris and Donna!

What a great fishing community! We stayed in one of 8 houses right across from the private pier with plenty of places to fish and crab. This was a first for us, as we usually stay right in Gulf Shores, but we wanted a little more quiet and peaceful setting. The house had everything that we needed. The master bedroom was huge and the bed super comfortable (and we are picky about our mattresses). The provided beach towels and beach bag came in handy. There was lots of storage space. This house was at the end of the row and had a picnic table and fire-pit that we enjoyed.Our favorite part was casting the crab pots (traps) from the pier into the river, and in 2 days we had enough blue crabs to have a feast. We just added spices (Old Bay) & vinegar and steamed them in the 3 provided crab pots. They were delicious! The Tin Top Restaurant was close and fantastic. The people at Aquila's bait shop, just down the road, were so nice and helpful. We highly recommend this as a low-key, quiet stay on the river.

This Gem is very cozy and clean. Had everything you would need and close to amazing restaurants. The fishing doc was wonderful with our morning coffee or evening fishing. The dolphins visited us almost every day. Short drive to beach as well!

The property's cleanliness was above and beyond. The cottage had all of the amenities that you might need during your stay. The owners are very friendly and easy to get ahold of. Area surrounding the property was very quiet and safe. Would absolutely come back!

EXCELLENT

Incredibly peaceful vacation. My husband and I loved the quaintness and serene cottage and its location !! Sunrise and sunsets from the dock were a daily ritual. The cottage was so well supplied with everything you need when away from home. The hosts were readily available and super kind. Looking forward to going back next year. Oh... fishing was GREAT too !!

Bon Secour Getaway

We loved our stay at Hytide Cabin between 6/22/24 and 6/28/24. Donna and Chris were great hosts and made sure our stay was comfortable. Their cabin was clean and had a ton of extra amenities. The set up worked great for our family. We traveled to the beach almost daily (only about 20 minutes with traffic), and it was nice to be close enough to food and activities, but in a quiet, secluded area. We also loved being close to fresh seafood and the dock was well kept with covered swings (both a short walk from the house). The locals were friendly, and the neighbors made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our vacation. We would definitely recommend Hytide for others. Thanks!

Peaceful

The house was great, everything we needed plus more. Very quiet and peaceful. We loved it...other than the mosquito's. Husband loved the fishing. Donna is amazing!!

Quaint and Quiet

The owners are very friendly and involved through getting you prepared to visit! The house has amenities such as spices, tupper ware, ziplocks, etc that you never see at a rental. We were perfectly located to everything in foley and GS and two seafood markets in walking distance were a big plus. You must also eat a Tin Top i cannot tell you have wonderful, you must try it for yourself!

Absolutely Wonderful

This place is everything as it is described and more . If you are looking for a place of relaxation and a home like feeling this is it . Not to far from town and shopping . The two seafood markets next door are both amazing with lots of choices to pick from of the freshest seafood . Tin Top restaurant a mile up the road is absolutely fabulous as well and try their sautéed crab claws . We loved being able to walk out across the road and drop a crab trap and catch the largest blue crabs we have ever caught from the gulf and have them for dinner . We also enjoyed teaching my son how to fish from the large and long pier . We saw dolphins each day playing around and some got pretty close to where you could really see them . The owners are amazing to work with and communicate with you and answer any questions you may have . The kitchen is fully stocked to prepare meals from bake wear to a cast iron skillet . The neighbors who live in this little community are so kind and helpful as well . We enjoyed meeting them. The fire pit located out the back door is an amazing little spot to kick back relax and enjoy a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate on a cold evening. We definitely plan to come again and enjoy the little piece of paradise . Thanks for a wonderful stay !

Leisure Time

The property is exactly as listed! Everything is extremely nice and up to date. Anyone that stays here should have everything they need for a comfortable visit. I’m sure if you were to need something extra that the hosts would try to accommodate you. The pier is set up for fishing and a cleaning station for your catch. If you are not into fishing it is also a great place to watch the boats come in and go out. It has plenty of seating and a swing all under cover. If you stay once you will want to go back.

Comfy Cottage Getaway

The listing pictures are very accurate. The cottage exceeded my expectations! It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and so very comfortable! Although the location is simple living, the appliances, countertops and furniture are more high end. The host couple is easy to reach and eager to please. Everything one would need is in the cottage. The hostess has done a fantastic job of anticipating every need. The recliners and the bed are very comfortable. It's a great sight-seeing base or a low-key, comfy place to hang out. I highly recommend the HyTide Cottage!

Great stay

This cottage was exactly as listed. There are so many good things I can say about this listening from start to finish. Donna was a pleasure to work with. She wanted to ensure that everything was perfect. The cottage was very clean and it had everything we needed. It was so comfortable and cozy that we felt at home. My husband and I needed this getaway and HyTide was the perfect choice for us. Actually, we didnt want to leave. Easy to say we will definitely be back.

Perfect Getaway

The property was exactly as listed. It is a quiet area but close enough to the beach. We loved being able to fish and the grassy area was great for our fur babies. The hosts were great to communicate with and very accommodating. We would definitely stay again. .

Peaceful Vacation

We enjoyed being able to have parking space for our boat, a dock and close proximity to two different boat ramps. Sitting on the dock in the evening was beautiful and peaceful. We saw several dolphins. Owners communicated very well and were quick to respond to any questions.

Birthday getaway

Second time staying at Hytide, we have enjoyed our stay both times, the cottage is very clean, owners are more than helpful! Highly recommend this place for a vacation getaway!

Great place

We had wonderful stay at the cottage. It was peaceful and very quiet. We took our dog Rue and she enjoyed walking down to the the dock. It was a home away from home and highly recommended

What a great place!

Everything was so clean and the decor was awesome. Much better than the pictures. We went to visit old friends and to fish. The dock across the street was great. Caught catfish and sailors choice. Husband caught a mangrove snapper! It was cool inside the house (70degrees), so I slept great! Cooked steaks on the grill...awesome. Thanks so much for a great place to stay!

A lifetime Alabama resident, I grew up enjoying the Alabama Gulf Coast and enjoy sharing this beautiful area with others. As a sales professional in the industrial marketplace, I spend a lot of time behind the wheel and have found few places like Bon Secour. Donna has worked as an educator for over 30 years and the peace and quiet of this area is a welcome reprieve to hours in the classroom.

Growing up vacationing on the Alabama Gulf Coast, we discovered this area in the 1960's. My family purchased a cabin in the Bon Secour area in 1985 and have come to treasure the peace and quiet this community affords. Whether its sitting on the pier and watching the dolphins and pelicans at play or walking down to Billy's Seafood for steamed shrimp fresh off of the boat, it is safe to say there is no other place quiet like the Cottages at Bon Secour. While we hope to one day retire to this area, we are now content to share our secret with those who also appreciate this unique riverfront lifestyle.
