Situated in a quiet residential area North of Barbados and a 5 minute walk to the beautiful Heywoods Beach, you will find this a truly delightful villa. The property is open plan and offers modern facilities. This includes a washing machine, large double fridge/freezer, internet/ WIFI access, TV. Full Air-con in bedrooms.
It has two spacious double bedrooms, with a shared family shower room. The Villa comes with it's own private pool (4ft deepest end), and patio furniture.
Maid service is available upon request at extra cost.

Speightstown is 40 minutes from Grantley Adams Airport by taxi/car. There is a bus that runs day/night and costs BD$2 (£1) which will take you anywhere on the island. The town is a 10 minute walk along a coastal road with beautiful scenery, you may even get a glimpse of turtles swimming in the beautiful turquoise water.

Speightstown, also known as Little Bristol, is the second largest town centre of Barbados. It is situated 12 miles north of the capital city of Bridgetown, in the northern parish of Saint Peter. You can buy anything in this old town from food to jewellery, even find a bar for the local drink- BANKS lager or a Rum punch-it's a must!
You will find Holetown a ten minute bus ride away where there are many designer shops, eating places, bars and coffee shops to enjoy. Taxi's are abundant to take you on an island tour at a reasonable cost.
Car Hire for a week is approx £200 - if pre-booked.

We had a wonderful stay here! The house is conveniently located to walk into Speightstown and to a couple beaches. After walking around all day, it’s so nice to be able to cool off in the pool, which is actually quite large for a plunge pool. No AC in the common areas means that it’s much more comfortable to be outside and the porch is completely shaded. We ate and lounged out on the front porch and watched the sunset over the beach from the back porch. (View may change when the new resort goes up on Haywoods beach).John and his local friends were very helpful when we were settling in. I would recommend this spot to anyone!

We had a great stay at John and Janice’s place. A spacious, clean and comfortable two bedroom apartment with fantastic private pool area that gets the sun all day, within easy walking distance of Speightstown and Heywoods Beach. John & Janice live downstairs so were always on hand in case we needed anything, but left us to our own devices the rest of the time. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need, the only thing we missed was a dishwasher. Overall we had a great stay and would be happy to return in the future.

The property was found to be as advertised. It was a nice, quiet and convenient location. The pool was a great addition and gathering spot for hot afternoons. The host is excellent and extremely prompt and clear with any and all communication, which is always appreciated. Any items generally needed were easily found (kitchen items, laundry, clothesline, etc). Our only constructive feedback is related to the quality of the mattresses in the bedrooms. Our experience found the mattresses to be past their “best before” dates overall. Something that although easily addressed, was something we would have expected in place at this price point. Nonetheless, it’s a great villa. Any upgrades that addressed our concerns would have us re-booking another visit without hesitation.

Wonderful ! Absolutely beautiful

Wonderful apartment in a fantastic location , everything you need on your doorstep ! Speightstown is fantastic with lots of bars and restaurants catering to all tastes , beaches galore to walk to or a short bus ride away and the hosts , John and Jan are lovely!!! Anything you need they are at hand to help and so friendly… we would go back in a heartbeat!! Give this place a whirl as you wont be disappointed at all !!!!

Paradise chill out

We had an amazing 2 weeks over Christmas staying at Janice & John's beautiful villa. Communication before our trip was faultless. We were made to feel so welcome upon arrival and throughout our stay! The villa is in a beautiful spot, just a short walk into Speightstown, shops and beaches. We hired a car for a few days and it's not until you travel around that you realise how much of a great location this villa is! The pool is a lovely place to relax after a day out exploring or at the beach. Everything that you could need is in the villa. We have had the most amazing relaxing break and cant thank Janice and John enough. Happy New Year guys xx

Ideal holiday villa – spacious, clean, everything works, good location

We (couple and 5 year-old boy) had an amazing week, the villa was perfect. Good location, close to the beach, just across from Almond Beach hotel. We stayed at Almond last time but much preferred having our own space, we hung out there a lot. It feels really new, super clean, nicely furnished, everything you need and everything worked - wi-fi, air con in the bedrooms, TV + cable It’s well situated on a quiet street. There’s a nice outdoor dining area above the pool. We didn’t think we’d use it but a real bonus, decent size, you can lie out there in deckchairs all day in the sun and it lights up at night! Again it was really clean Speightstown is more chilled than the rest of the west coast, feels less touristy, more authentic. We found some nice restaurants which were cheap compared to most places in Barbados, had some great Bajan food. We had a car but next time might not bother, you can walk to the beach and local buses go round the island We met the owners John and Janice and they were great, obviously care about looking after the villa properly, and went out of their way to make us feel at home. Thanks for everything, all the best, hope to stay at your place again!

Wonderful villa in a super location

Speightstown is an area of Barbados that can be overlooked when looking for a place to stay: big mistake. The villa is ideally located (more about that later) with the front facing east and the rear facing west. The pool is strategically placed to get the sun all day as well as there being natural shaded areas during the day. There is an outside dining patio in the shade which gets a lovely breeze at any time of day or night. The open plan kitchen/diner/lounge is well equipped and comfortable: there are a series of apps on the smart TV which also takes a USB drive (we brought a flash drive pre loaded with UK TV shows and movies), full wifi throughout the villa (fast enough for me to stream the Wigan Warriors vs Sydney Roosters Rugby League match). Mosquito nets on all windows allowed the villa to take advantage of the natural breeze although there was full aircon in both bedrooms when needed as well as the most powerful fan ever seen in the lounge. Bathroom had a huge shower room. Ample towels provided by our wonderful hosts, Jan and John who were waiting for us on arrival and were on hand to answer any queries we had. Speightstown itself is a lovely place, with many interesting places. The best restaurants were the local Bajan places - De Sweetz Pot (5 minute walk) had the best tuna ever tasted,locally caught and cooked in Bajan spices. They have a range of local cuisine. The Fishermens Pub never lets you down with their Saturday night karaoke (with great food and drink at reasonable prices too). The Shipwreck Bar also has good food and drink with live sport on TV. There are several other places 'to be seen at' which are ok if that's what you want but personally I'd rather support the genuine Bajan flavoured eateries. All in all a great place to stay.

Fantastic Holiday

We were lucky enough to be met at the villa by John and Jan, they are truly wonderful hosts. They made us feel so welcome and at home, were full of local knowledge, and went out of their way to make our holiday special without being intrusive. The villa is spacious, comfortable, very clean and equipped with everything you need. The terrace is a perfect spot for a ‘sundowner’ while watching the amazing sunsets. The pool was kept spotlessly clean and was a godsend after a day out and for those lazy pool days. The villa is in a fabulous location, within walking distance to supermarkets, banks, bars and restaurants, bus stops and the beautiful Haywoods beach which is a ‘must go to’. We didn’t hire a car, the buses are cheap, run frequently and are quite an experience! Thank you so much John and Jan for everything and making our holiday perfect. We will be back!

Urlaub im Paradies

Zum 10. Mal verbrachten wir unseren Urlaub auf Barbados und zum 2. Mal im Haus von Janice und John. Wir sind sicher, das war nicht das letzte Mal. Die Wohnung hat alles was wir für einen ruhigen, selbstbestimmten Urlaub brauchen. Bei einem Kaffee haben wir die Sonne auf der Terrasse begrüssen dürfen oder uns eine kleine Abkühlung im Pool gegönnt. Ein erholsamer Schlaf wird durch die Klimaanlage gewährleistet, Küche mit Gas-Herd und grossem Kühlschrank erlaubten uns auch hin und wieder selbst zu kochen (die Preise im Restaurant sind im Schnitt doppelt so hoch wie bei uns). Wir mieten immer ein Auto und sind viel auf der Insel unterwegs, aber Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sowie verschiedene Strände sind auch zu Fuss erreichbar. Das Haus von Janice und John liegt in einer ruhigen, guten Gegend, die von freundlichen Einheimischen bewohnt wird. Speightstown ist zwar ein aufstrebender Küstenort, aber noch ist es dort ursprünglicher als im Süden der Insel oder in Holetown. Wir können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen.

Excellent stay in Barbados!

John and Janice's house was beautiful. It is well located a short walk away from Speightstown and Heywood's beach. The accommodations were comfortable and the owners very helpful - they replied to any queries both before and during the trip very quickly. The pool is lovely and the house has fantastic ocean breezes. It was delightful staying there!

Perfect Location 5*

We were lucky enough to be greated by Janice & John, shown around the apartment and even had supplies left for us arriving on Sunday evening. The apartment was in a perfect location on the west coast, close to all the shops and a stone throw away from some of the best beaches on the island. The apartment was very home from home with everything you needed to hand. I would highly recommend it, and look forward to returning at some point in the future!! :-)

Beautiful villa on the platinum coast in speightstown

This beautiful, sparkling villa is located in a beautiful, friendly neighbourhood of Heywoods, Barbados. Best location to stay, 7 minutes to beautiful beaches, bus terminal, 15 min walk to banks, bars, restaurants and grocery shopping, you can also enjoy it's quiet private terrace, large out door balcony to eat, or sit and have coffee, enjoy the outdoors and view of the spectular sunsets. The villa also has a gorgeous private pool to relax after a long day at the beach. This villa is very well appointed, has everything anyone would need, spotless, extremely well maintained, and a home away from home! Janice and John, the lovely couple who own the villa, are the best, so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect.

Beautiful & charming home

Myself, husband, and daughter had the pleasure of staying here for a week. From the time of the initial inquiry, all the way through our stay, the homeowners were great to deal with! Their response time was quick, and they answered all of my questions about the property. The house was perfect for our family and close distance to so many west coast attractions. The pool was an added bonus which we used daily! We had the pleasure of meeting John and Janice during our stay. They are truly some of the nicest people! Looking forward to staying here again in the future.

Absolutely fantastic

Excellent villa, the property is perfectly located and perfectly maintained with a home to home feel .Jan and Jon the owners communicated really well from the enquires I first made before booking and for the whole entire trip. They were very friendly and helpful. We were even invited out on an evening with them to a local bar called the little Bristol. My whole family and I had a fantastic time and they were great hosts. It was wonderful to see that the villa was just like how the pictures looked and in fact better inside! The villa is located in a great location with nearby beaches and hot spot bars called the little Bristol, hugo the restaurant all within walking distance.They now feel like family to us and we can't wait to plan the next trip. A real five star service! Thanks again Jan and Jon

Beautiful Barbados

Excellent stay, Roomy clean villa near Speightstown, awesome scuba diving with Phil at Reefers&Wreckers and near the best restaurant of the island : Island Plates. When coming back to Barbados, will definitively rent that villa again. Walking distance to beautiful beach, and great bars and restaurants

Ideal location and great pool

This property is in an ideal location in a quiet residential street just 10 minutes walk to the centre of Speightstown. It has a really nice pool out the front with plenty of room around it for sun loungers. The neighbours are also very friendly. If you are arriving after dark i would suggest that you stop at a supermarket on the way there to get some provisions as we arrived around 6.30pm, and not knowing where exactly the supermarket was, didnt venture out in the dark so had no water or food until the next day. The supermarket is just a 15 minute walk away, if you cross the main road and head to the beach, this is a nice walk there off the main road. Buses are just a 5-10 minute walk away and for BD$2 per journey they are great for getting around. We used the yellow buses to go to Holetown and Bridgetown. Unfortunately we had a couple of plumbing problems while we were there. John and Janice responded quickly to my email, and got a plumber to come while we were in to fix one of the problems. There are a few things in the villa in need of repair, but with a little bit of attention these could easily be fixed, as this place could easily have a 5 star rating.

Lovely villa, great location, easy holiday

This is the second time I've stayed in John and Janice's villa (see April review). I stayed with my mum, son and nephew, we didn't hire a car this time but as the villa is so conveniently located we were able to easily get around the island. Heywoods beach is a leisurely 10 minute walk, petrol station and Chefette (West Indian fast food chain) 10 minutes and Jordans supermarket 15 minutes. The kids loved the pool and the a/c in the bedrooms is a godsend! Thank you for another lovely holiday

Lovely Villa and Lovely People

We had a lovely fortnight at John and Janice's villa. The property is very conveniently placed in Heywoods Park, St Peter which is a quiet residential area, close to Speightstown. Everything you need is walking distance, beaches, restaurants, and the bus station from where you can travel to practically everywhere on the island. The villa was newly built, clean and well equipped with everything you need. Janice and John were lovely, friendly and went over and above to ensure we had a good stay. As we arrived on a Bank holiday Janice provided us with some basic provisions to keep us going until the shops were open the next day. I would stay here again and recommend to friends. Vannessa

Great new villa, amazing location, perfect island.

We stayed for 6 nights in February 2017. The villa is newly built and furnished to a very high standard. The kitchen has a large fridge freezer and a range style gas cooker. The air conditioning in the bedroom was very effective and the fan in the living area kept the house cool. The pool onsite is quite a bit bigger than the pictures indicate and it was warm enough in February for the family to use. The villa is situated very close to the Almond beach hotel which has an amazing beach. You can walk to the beach in a few minutes. The Heywood estate has a good mix of newish build houses and the locals are very friendly. Its a ten minute walk into Speightstown which has all the basic shopping you will need for your holiday. If you walk the other way on the main road you reach a beautiful Marina and its beach, carry on walking and you reach a rural part of the Island where the locals live in their beach shacks. There is a great shack there that does cheap food and drinks, mostly used by locals but very welcoming to tourists. They had 3 BBD banks beer and 9 BBD Spanish wine and also stocked snacks (the Fishcake sandwich was nice). We had great fun exploring the island on the Yellow "Reggae Reggae" buses. These are only 1USD person and we took them twice in to Bridgetown and once into Holetown. The yellow buses are an experience themselves with the loud music playing and Alton Towers style driving. The more reserved government blue buses are also available, however our only journey on one resulted in a breakdown! We spent about 100 USD on Taxi's to and from the airport and then only spent about 20 dollars on buses across the island. We had a small query when we were in the villa which John and Jan responded to immediately and quickly gave us the help we required. They were also very helpful in making sure we got to our villa, calling us at 10pm Barbados time (2am UK time) after our flight was delayed 4 hours. The proximity of the villa to the beach and also its closeness to the amenities means this will be our first choice villa when we return to Barbados.

perfect place for a perfect holiday

Our first holiday to Barbados was also great thanks to the choice of this superb villa with private pool. The House is large and spacious, tastefully decorated. The location is ideal, close to the beach (5 min walk) and the City Centre (10 minutes walk), in a residential area new and very quiet. The neighbors are all friendly and willing to help or just to chat. We enjoyed the sunset sitting on the terrace. The owners John and Janice were so helpful and responded promptly to any request we had. Highly recommended!! Giulia from Italy
