Central PA's home away from home! 3 bedroom 1 1/2 bath, in quiet country setting. Only 10 min. From Hershey, 30 min. From Harrisburg, Lancaster (or easy drive to Carlisle & Gettysburg), escape to do what you love to do--create! House converts to a vacation tourist home for your visit to or near Hershey, Lancaster, Carlisle area attractions. Not a crafter? No problem! Use the retreat house as your home away from home while visiting area attractions or attending family events! Wine & antique lover? Local vineyards & antique auto museums are close as well. House sits in a quiet country setting with few neighbors. Guests can even catch a glimpse of the area wildlife of deer, wild turkey & rabbits grazing in the yard or adjacent meadow. Also in the area: Hersheypark, Antique Auto Museum of America, Lancaster Amish are all close by! Never a shortage of things to do & plenty of chocolate!

Great Place!!!

My family and I had a wonderful time here. We gathered for my grandson's birthday. A trip to Hershey Park. This was the first time I stayed at a BNB type rental. The Retreat House was perfect. We had space to spread out. It was a home away from home. Anita is a great host! We had rain one day such that the park was closed. Anita had suggestions that worked out perfectly. I would come back here just to get away!

Hershey Weekend

This home was perfect for our girls' weekend in Hershey. The home was clean and cozy and had plenty of space. Anita was a wonderful host; there when you needed her. We would definitely book again!

Great stay!

I stayed at this home with a couple of friends for a weekend trip to Hershey, and it could not have been easier! Anita was a great host - we appreciated her availability and kindness. The home itself is as it looks, clean and convenient with plenty of space. We had no issues at all. Would definitely recommend!

Wildlife

This property was a peaceful sanctuary to come back to after being in Hershey Park all day. We were there for a week and enjoyed every minute.

Wonderful Stay!

This house was perfect. First off, it was extremely clean. The kitchen was fully stocked and ready to cook, the tv was great and we were able to log into our subscriptions easily to watch Netflix and prime. We were there for Hershey which is only about 10-12 minutes away and very easy to get to. Anita gave us great recommendations for other things to do in the area as well and was very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Scrapbooking retreat

We had a great time at this property. The host, Anita, was the best and very responsive. The house/kitchen is very stocked. The house is perfect for scrapbooking/ crafting. The house has special lightning in the craft area. Tables, chairs, tools, and cricut are already there. We will be back next year!!

Great week of vacation and scrapbooking

It was a perfect house set up for scrapbooking and vacation. It was quiet, skirt like a baby. Close to all the Hershey tourist attractions and restaurants/shopping. We also drove 2.5 miles to Washington DC. Definitely recommend others to stay here!

Cozy and Comfy!

We needed a home close to Hershey for a napping toddler and this fit the bill. It wasn't fancy, but warm and cozy. The owner was super welcoming and informative.

The 3 C’s!

Cozy, clean and comfortable! This was a wonderful well kept home the we stayed in for 2 nights. Watched a beautiful lightning storm on the back porch! Beds for everyone! Beautiful scenery. Excellent communication and welcome from the owner Anita. I recommend this place 10 fold. Thank you Anita!

Trip to Hershey

My husband and children (adult and teenagers) stayed at this property for a trip to Hershey. The house is in a good location and the property manager is informative and gave us recommendations for nearby restaurants. Side note: In our down time, the boys enjoyed throwing a football on the large property.

Quiet country retreat home

We rented the home for a week while staying for our son's graduation from medical school. Location was perfect as it was close to town for shopping or eating but out of town enough to be quiet and peaceful. Kitchen was very well stocked to do our own cooking and the screen porch was a wonderful place to sit and enjoy the beauty of the birds, flowers and trees. Nice place to walk along the quiet country road. Beds were comfy and all linens and towels supplied were soft and clean. Laundry was convenient to use in the house and TV/ living room area were great for gathering to relax after busy days. Hostess Anita was very helpful and available to answer any questions both before we arrived and after we checked in.

Scrapbook heaven

A great place to get together to scrapbook. Comfortable chairs great lighting plenty of room. House was spotless and Anita is the best host ever. Very helpful and accommodating. Differently will be back!

Pennsylvania vacation

Excellent host! Very clean house with everything we needed in it. House is in a great location for seeing regional attractions. If I was ever going to go back to that part of PA and needed a place for a small group, this would be it! Enjoyed every minute of our family vacation.

Hershey getaway

Excellent choice for a hershey park getaway or anything nearby great location and close to everything. Anita was very informative with information and a great host. She was very prompt with her responses and greats you at your arrival. We highly recommend her home for your stay. Its very clean. Very welcoming and has everything you need.

Delightful Retreat!

We loved our stay at this house!! We stayed here while attending a concert at Hersheypark. The location is lovely, it's very convenient to late night snacks, a very easy short drive to Hersheypark, and lots of parking. The house was well stocked with everything and just delightful! Anita took special care to set out linens and a few chocolates, which made us feel so welcome and spoiled! We had all the hot water we needed, lots of options for sitting and visiting, and the enclosed back porch is very cozy with a nice view. We do not do crafting, but we wanted to take up crafting after seeing the space options here. Anita was one of the best hosts we've ever had! So friendly and welcoming. Thank you, we will return!

Fantastic - will be Returning

From start to finish, Anita was a great host! Clear communication, friendly smile, helpful tips for local shopping/eateries and very open to feedback! Everything was wonderful. This was the first opportunity to get together with friends for a scrapbook weekend in 2 years and we loved every minute. The house was perfectly stocked, comfortable and easily accessible. The sun room was an added bonus . . . A comfortable room with beautiful views and treats of the local wildlife. We even had an added treat of watching her husband's racing pigeons return (we think that's what they were doing) home. :-) We have already set our 2022 date! Thank you for the great hospitality!

Breathtaking

First and foremost, Anita and her family are amazing. We booked super last minute, and she went above and beyond to ensure the place was cleaned, and full of little Hershey’s kisses around the premises. Communication was phenomenal, and they are just super nice. My family and I absolutely appreciate everything!! Thank you, Anita.

Perfect!

Anita was absolutely amazing! She is so friendly and caring. She made sure we knew about the different attractions in the area, which helped us plan our trip even more. She was very friendly, easy to get a hold of and made sure that we are completely satisfied. The house was perfect for all of us. It was very clean and comfortable. We have already told our friends and family about this rental, and will definitely be coming back again!

Home away from home

Booked this home for a weekend at Hershey - our weekend started out horrible due to car issues but this home was just what our family needed. My girls loved running out back, seeing the pigeons and catching fireflies. Anita is the best host anyone could ask for. The home is super clean, beds are comfortable and kitchen fully stocked. We cannot wait to stay here again even if just to get away. This is a must stay home!

We are a busy family, active with baseball, our kids & life! Scrapbooking & crafting for over 20 years, we wanted to provide a place for folks to be able to sneak away to do the things that they enjoy We too are lovers of the Hershey area & attractions & spend free time visiting some of the area wineries & other antique malls & area attractions as a family.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The house is a family property built in 1972 by my husband's father. Family being very important to him, he sought to create a warm, welcoming home for his children, family & visiting friends. Coming from a large family, there were many family gatherings & memories made in this house. Through the years, as families grew & some passed on, we continue to keep his legacy alive. We do everything we can to provide a warm, welcoming "home away from home" for our guests.

As a hobbiest & crafter, the house was set up with crafters & quilters in mind. However, we maintained the flexibility of being able to turn the house quickly into a vacation tourist home for visiting guests.

The house is just off the Middletown Hummelstown exit of Route 283. It's convenient location gives quick access to the Pennsylvania Turnpike and the Harrisburg International Airport. Just minutes from Hershey, you'll be able to stay in an affordable location without having to drive great distances to enjoy the attractions.
