"Homer Stunner!!
I've been coming to Homer for over 30 years and this property has the best view of the Bay that I've seen. The well equipped property was a delightful home base for our family. Having coffee in the spa overlooking a glacier does not get old. Enjoying the fire pit in the evening also added to the overall experience. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a special Homer experience."

Playful Ravens: A Luxurious Family Retreat with Heart-Enriching Views

-New for 2026 season a private 1/4 mile trail surrounds our home. It's magical.-

Welcome to Playful Ravens, an elegant family home perched above stunning views that can be enjoyed from nearly every window, the expansive deck, or while soaking in the hot tub. Located just 15 minutes from downtown Homer, this peaceful retreat offers quick access to all the charm and activities the area has to offer.

One of our favorite pastimes is watching the sunrise or sunset from the spectacular deck, and weā€™re sure youā€™ll love it too. Whether youā€™re soaking in the hot tub, warming up in the sauna, or gathering around the fire pit, this home provides countless ways to create lasting memories with family and friends.

With four spacious bedrooms, thereā€™s plenty of room for privacy and comfort. The movie room, complete with a cozy couch which transforms into a comfortable bed and a wall of books, is perfect for streaming your favorite shows or relaxing after a day of adventures. For deeper relaxation, enjoy the four-person infrared sauna.

The fully equipped kitchen is a cookā€™s dream, featuring All-Clad pans, a double convection oven, and a large fridge/freezerā€”ideal for crafting memorable meals. And if you reel in a fresh catch during your stay, itā€™ll make the perfect centerpiece for dinner!

The side yardā€™s large fire pit is perfect for gathering around in the evenings to share drinks, stories, and lasting memories.

Playful Ravens earned its name from the air currents surrounding the bluff, creating a haven for birds. Eagles, ravens, and hawks often soar and play on the breezesā€”nature at its finest.

The Master Suite
The luxurious master suite features a king-sized bed, a spacious bathroom with a glass-block and tiled double shower, and a private north-facing balcony perfect for taking in the breathtaking views. It also includes a lofted seating area with a loveseat, chair, and Smart TV.

Additional Bedrooms and Amenities
Main Floor: A cozy bedroom with a full-size log bed and an adjacent full bathroom with a tub/shower.
Lower Level: Two bedrooms with queen-sized log-frame beds, a movie room with a high-quality couch that converts into a queen-sized bed, and a bathroom equipped with a shower, toilet, urinal, and sink.
Throughout: In-floor heating and a Blaze King wood stove provide ultimate comfort year-round.

Outdoor Spaces
The spacious deck boasts sweeping views, Adirondack chairs, and a hot tub for ultimate relaxation. A grill is conveniently located off the kitchen for al fresco dining.

Nature and Wildlife

This is a lovely home with an amazing view! The kitchen was great for our family gathering in Homer (ten adults for a multi-generational trip). We really enjoyed staying at this beautiful well equipped home. It was a great base for fishing and wildlife day trips.

The views forever in our heart

Beautiful home with stunning views of mountains, glaciers, and kachemak bay. Owner and property manager were very quick to respond to questions!!! All the necessities were provided. Hot tub was a huge hit with our friends(bathrobes were a nice touch) we will be back!

Breathtaking views of the snow capped mountains, the glacier and the bay. Night lights of the city and Homer spit. Spacious rooms and we found everything we could have asked for to make our stay comfortable. The dishes and cutlery were quality as well as the cookware and appliances. Easy drive into town. Our communication with Paula was easy and she went above and beyond to answer questions.

Amazing property and views!

We travelled with 8 people (3 adults and 5 kids) and were more than comfortable all together in this house. The kids had an amazing time playing outside, games inside, enjoying the hot tub, etc. We would all stay here for every Homer travel visit just to sit on that deck and take in Alaska.

Family Vacation

My Family of 9 adults and 2 year old grandaughter had a wonderful 4 night stay at Playful Ravens in Homer! Paula and her team provided excellent communication before and during the trip. The house was clean and beds very comfortable. The pictures provided were very accurate of the home. The kitchen had everything we needed for family meals. It was cold and rainy when we arrived but the wood stove quickly warmed us up. The house has an expansive deck with a spectacular view of the mountains, Grewingk Glacier and Kachemak Bay. The Hot Tub was very clean and well maintained. Our time at Homer/Playful Ravens was the highlght of our 2 week trip to Alaska and Vancouver.

Cabin with a great view

Everything was just great with the property. From the time we arrived until we left. We had 8 people and there was plenty of room and beds. The view off the back deck is absolutely stunning. It over looks the Homer Spit with Peaks and Glaciers in the backdrop. The kitchen was great we made several meals and had everything we needed. Definitely would recommend.

Gorgeous views!

We were very happy with our stay. The house is as advertised. Keep in mind that the master is a loft, no doors for privacy or blackout shades for the long days. Everything was great, even when we needed batteries for the tv remote, manager showed up with new ones. šŸ‘ The view could not be any better, gorgeous!!

For eight years, we drove past this home on our way back to our off-the-grid timber-frame house nestled on 10 acres. Living there with many animals, hauling water, and embracing a simpler lifestyle was a rewarding adventure. After taking a tour, we were hooked. The spectacular views, the ample space for our growing family, and the closer proximity to town meant our kids could enjoy more of the opportunities Homer has to offer. Moving here has been a terrific change for us, and weā€™ve loved calling this beautiful property home.

This home has captivated us for years, even before we owned it. It once graced the cover of Alaska Magazine and is as remarkable inside as it is out. Built with incredible craftsmanship, the yellow cedar logs were harvested in British Columbia and transported up the Alcan Highway. The interior walls are warm and inviting, adding to the homeā€™s charmā€”though they do pose a fun challenge when hanging art!

The front of the home is a showstopper, with eight large windows and a sliding glass door that perfectly frame the breathtaking views. The mountains and glaciers across Kachemak Bay feel like theyā€™re part of the home itself. We never tire of watching the Homer Spit, the town of Homer, and the airport lights twinkling as the sun sets and the night comes alive.

One of our favorite pastimes is soaking in the 104-degree hot tub, gazing at the Northern Lights when they grace the sky. During other seasons, the countless stars and passing satellites make for equally enchanting evenings

Playful Ravens is just 15 minutes from downtown Homer, and those minutes are filled with beauty. Moose, porcupines, eagles, ravens, hawks, owls, and even the occasional lynx can often be spotted along the way. The expansive views as you drive down the hill into town are simply breathtaking.

This is our family home, and Jon is an excellent chef, so weā€™ve stocked the kitchen with everything you need to create incredible meals. With high-quality appliances and all the tools at your fingertips, cooking for your family and friends can become one of the highlights of your visit.
